1) Adam Izsay on fire – he was “the driver of the weekend”

Xray driver Adam Izsay was “the man of the weekend” as Marc Rheinard said in the final press conference on Sunday afternoon. The racer from Hungary had his best weekend of RC racing ever at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun, and it was very impressive to watch him on- and off the track. Izsay had signed up for the FWD class and Pro Stock before the event, and decided to also register for modified while he was already onhis way to Daun.
Adam did an amazing job all weekend long. He was TQ in FWD, the class he crowned himself already as the champion, and took the win after some very close finals with Roman Borschel. In Pro Stock, he lost some points to his championship rival Ollie Bultynck, but still managed to finish second overall. The Matrix Modified class was the cherry on the cream for Izsay, fighting with the top dogs of the sport. Adam qualified third, and took second overall. He was totally on pace with Rheinard, Orlowski, and all the others and he has set more than just an exclamation mark.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ADAM FOR THIS AMAZING WEEKEND. The “One to Watch” award he received from Scotty and Uwe was well-deserved!
I just thought that I could also run Modified because of the long time between all the heats in Daun. I was not really prepared, but I used a setup I got from the team and it worked out very good for me. I hoped to make the A-Main and then things did turn out much better than expected. It was a great experience to run on top of the modified class and I enjoyed it a lot.

2) EAM Batteries winning big in Pro Stock – can they come close to LRP in case of battery dominance?

We saw the EAM batteries from US company “EA Motorsports” in use for the first time at the ETS. The battery line from US racer Eric Anderson is now officially avaiable in europe and teammanager Max Mächler has already found some ver good drivers using them in their cars. Awesomatix racer and Pro Stock championship contender Ollie Bultynck was rocking the EAM 5000mAh pack and was able to TQ and win the race in front of Adam Izsay (Nosram), and Lukas Ellerbrock (LRP). A perfect debut for EAM!
I really like my EAM batteries. The power is great and I am really impressed so far. I am happy that I could win the race for all my sponsors, and especially for EAM at their first official ETS event!
Ollie Bultynck (BE) Awesomatix | EAM
It will be exciting to see how their presence will continue at the ETS beside the currently most dominant battery supplier LRP / Nosram. When looking onto the tech charts, LRP is still the dominant force in all stock classes with their 5100 battery being the most popular right now. Other companies such as Gens Ace, Ruddog, Orca, Intellect, EZ-Power, and others, are fighting for the other pieces of the battery cake.

3) Under the Hood “IN MOTION” – amazing stuff from RC Racing TV
The crew from RC Racint TV around Mat McCallum came around with a nice idea at ETS Rd5 in Daun. “Let`s do some Under the Hood stuff with the camera, like short video clips” was what Mat said. The media team was right on it and they produced some veeery cool “Under the Hood IN MOTION” viedos from the Yokomo BD12 of Christopher Krapp, and the Awesomatix A800R of Ollie Bultynck.
What was kind of a first try turned out into something amazing. We will do more videos like these in the future and we can already post some more of them in the next weeks as Mat did two more recordings in Daun – be excited!
These video clips from RC Racint TV are MEGA. We already received a massive feedback and people seem to like these clips a lot. We will do more of that in the future and I am very happy that the team from RC Racing TV has many great ideas to make the coverage of the ETS even better!

4) Well deserved special award for the great “Cantina Crew”

Since two years, we are giving the “Spirit of the Event” award away at every ETS. This time, the crew from the cantina received it. The cantina in Daun was under direction of Tobias Baumbach and Jörg Buchner. In their daily life, they are co-owners of the “Hotel Villa am Rhein” in Andernach. They did such a great job with their workdays having 16 hours all the time.
It was a very exhausting few days here in Daun for my team and me. But we had so many great conversations and met so many friends that the days flew by. We’ll be back again for the EOS – let’s go!
Tobias Baumbach (DE)
Gerd Dippel and Laura Langner (sister of ETS racer Phil Langner) were helping them during the event and the ETS crew is super proud and thankful for the work they did. Almost every racer who posted a summary of the event on social media thanked them as well for their hard work which clearly shows that the ETS racers were appreciating what they did. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
5) Ratheisky family winning the most trophies 🙂

Jan Ratheisky is colloecing trophies since many years – that`s nothing new 🙂 But since two years, he is visiting most of our races with his entire family. His wife Svantje, his daughter Emely, his son Marlon, and his father Kai Asmer had been in Daun and they really worked together as a team. It is cool to see three generations racing together and Marlon and Emely are improving race by race.
This time, Jan received three trophy plates for his F1, Pro Stock, and Modified results. Svantje won her D-Main in the Orca 21.5 Stock class, Emely took the win in the D-Main of the ToniSport Formula class, and Marlon won the Formula E-Main. That`s a total of SIX trophies for the Ratheisky family – isn`t that cool? We like to say THANK YOU to the Ratheisky family for supporting the ETS in a great way – see you soon!
Dominant Orlowski joined by Izsay and Rheinard on the podium
Matrix Modified
Lucas Urbain started from the first spot in A3 while race winner Michal Orlowski was already watching the action relaxed beside the track. Urbain finally had a clean run and took the win in A3 – a win that was only good enough for P4 in the end after Urbain had two bad first A-Main finals. Behind the Awesomatix of Urbain it was a battle between Adam Izsay and Marc Rheinard for second and third. Rheinard was close for a several times but found no way to ride a serious attack on Izsay.

Simon Lauter was holding off a hard pushing Ronald Völker in the fight for P4 and P5. Lauter did a great job and kept the door slam shot against the multiple ETS champion Völker. The top 5 finishing order in A3 was Urbain, Izsay, Rheinard, Lauter, and Völker.

After the results from A3, the Matrix Modified podium saw Michal Orlowski on the top step, framed by “the driver of the weekend” Adam Izsay, and Marc Rheinard.

Izsay wins A3 and Ellerbrock secures last minute podium spot

Adam Izsay won the last A-Main of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class. Race winner Ollie Bultynck was not on the line anymore in A3 and Izsay took full advantage and took second place overall. Behind A3 winner Izsay, we saw a close battle between Sören Sparbier and Lukas Ellerbrock. After Sören was riding the curbs too much, Ellerbrock tried an inside pass and went by. Unluckily for Sparbier, his body was tucked, and he lost positions – and the overall podium position which he aimed for. The top 5 result was: Bultynck, Izsay, Ellerbrock, Sparbier, and Ratheisky

Adam Izsay was watching the race from the sideline after he had already secured the overall victory in A2. On the road to the championship… Orlowski wins ETS RD5 in Germany
Matrix Modified
Michal Orlowski took his third win of the current ETS season here in Daun. This amazing result puts him where he wants to be before the season finale in March – in the absolute battle for the championship. Orlowski has the best cards in his hands now and when he can keep up his current form, it is hard to imagine that anybody can beat him in Vienna.

After the start of A2, Orlowski was leading the race with Lucas Urbain and Adam Izsay following him in a couple of tenths. The Schumacher car of Orlowski was rock steady, and Michal made no single mistake until he crossed the finish line under the applause of the audience. Lucas Urbain was coming closer to Orlowski in the last lap of the race but Urbain was riding the curb at the entry of the left side chicane too much. His Awesomatix car crashed into the fence. This allowed Adam Izsay and Marc Rheinard going by. Rheinard overtook Izsay in the last chicane and finished second in A2 – what a move fromn the five time world champ. Adam Izsay, Simon Lauter, and Ronald Völker rounded out the top 5 while Urbain dropped back to P6. Michal Orlowski is the man of the season so far with winning all three races which he attended – congratulations!

Awesomatix ProStock
Bultynck wins big at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun

Ollie Bultynck had everything under control in A2 of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class. Bultynck was leading until a small bubble in lap 10 allowed Izsay and Sparbier to close on him again. The top four drivers, Bultynck, Izsay, Sparbier, and Ellerbrock were driving around the track with identical gaps to each other – Pro Stock racing at its best. Another smal lmistake from Bultynck in the last minute of the race let the crowd react with fear, but Bultynck was able to cross the line in P1. He celebrated his second win of the season with his dad and his team mates once he came down the driver stand. The decision for the overall championship will be on the line in a couple of weeks at Arena Nova in Austria.

Hobbywing Frontwheel
Izsay wins his fourth race of the season

On the sound of the tone, Roman Borschel was immediatley hunting down TQ Adam Izsay. As in A1, the car of Roman Borschel looked a little quicker, but Izsay made no mistakes. Borschel clipped the board in lap 6 which gave Izsay some breathing room. Adam did not look back anymore and won the race like a real champion. After Borschel crashed, Phil Langner and Mark Valent moved up to P2 and P3 and had a very intense fight for second in this race. The top 5 finishing order in A2 was Adam Izsay, Phil Langner, Mark Valent, Gergö Valent, and Caspar Morgen.

1up Racing 40+ Masters
Overall victory for Xray`s Ehrbar

David Ehrbar sealed the deal in A2 of the 40+ Masters class. Ehrbar had another clean run on the black ETS carpet and only René Kölbel was able to match his pace. It was the first race for Ehrbar in teh 40+ Masters class and he took a well deserved win away from Daun. Kölbel finished second in A2, ahead of Ulrich Dinger, Andreas Myrberg, and Caspar Morgen.

Orca 21.5 Stock
Championship to be decided at RD6 in Austria as Langner wins RD5 in Daun

Phil Langner and Tristan Bergheim having a great season, fighting for the overall championship of the Orca 21.5 Stock class. After Phil Langner took the win here in A2 ahead of Bergheim, they are almost equal on points now and the championship will be decided at Arena Nova in Austria very soon. As in A1, Langner was putting his head down and drove a clean race on top of the field. The youngster crossed the line some three seconds ahead of Tristan Bergheim, Jan Gehrig, and Dominic Esseiva.

ToniSport Formula
Stiebler close to title defence after a very strong performance

A2 of the ToniSport Formula class saw Schumacher driver Andreas Stiebler converting his pole position into another win. Stiebler simply had the best pace on track and his overall victory here in Daun is more than deserved. The two Xray drivers Jan Ratheisky and David Ehrbar swapped positions two times during the race and it was Ratheisky taking second from Ehrbar, Kampehl, and Wojcik.
Orlowski wins A1 in front of an unleashed Izsay, and Rheinard
Matrix Modified
Michal Orlowski (Schumacher) took the win in the first leg of Matrix Modified A-Mains on Saturday evening. Orlowski had a perfect start and saw Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) following him relatively close for 7 laps until Urbain crashed in the tight chicane on the left side of the track. Urbain lost his position and Adam Izsay (Xray) and Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) took over second and third place. After five minutes, Orlowski completed his mission and won A1 with 0.5 seconds in front of a hard pushing Adam Izsay. Rheinard, Collina, and Iivonen rounded out the top 5.

Awesomatix ProStock
A1 goes to Awesomatix and Bultynck

Ollie Bultynck showed no doubt that he wants to take nothing than a win away from the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun. Bultynck launched his A800R off the line and never looked back. He drove a perfect race and crossed the finish line with a gap of one second ahead of Xray`s Adam Izsay and Mugen Seiki`s Sören Sparbier. The Mugen driver was on the rear bumper of Izsay in the last two minutes of the race but was not able to find a way by Izsay who just stayed calm. Lukas Ellerbrock finished fourth in A1 and needs to improve tomorrow if he doesn`t want to lose more points to Bultynck and Izsay in the overall championship standings!

Hobbywing Frontwheel
Clinic drive from Izsay in front of a super-quick Borschel

TQ Adam Izsay made no single mistake in A1 of the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. Izsay had Roman Borschel in the rear-view mirror of his Xray car for the entire 5 minutes and it was a pure joy to watch them driving around the track. Awesomatix racer Borschel was showing a lot of patience and it looked like he had the faster car, but Izsay was just standing his ground like a champion. In the last 2 minutes of the race, Mark Valent joined the party with his Schumacher car and waited for something to happen in front. But as they ran out of time, Izsay took the win from Borschel, Valent, Moorey and Heitsch.

1up Racing 40+ Masters
Ehrbar with a real Masterclass in A1

Top Qualifier David Ehrbar had a perfect race in the first A-Main. The Xray driver was holding off his teammate René Kölbel who was following him in a couple of tenths for the entire race. Ehrbar drove it nice and clean and is only one final away from the overall victory at his debut in the 40+ Masters class. Kölbel, Dinger, Morgen, and Schmitzer completed the top 5 in A1.

Orca 21.5 Stock
Langner shows strong nerves through a lot of traffic and wins A1 ahead of Bergheim

In the Orca 21.5 Stock class, top qualifier Phil Langner was leading the field around the first laps with Tristan Bergheim right in tow. Jan Gehrig followed a little behind them in third spot and had a battle against Jan Vogler and Frank Fuchs for positions three, four, and 5.
In lap 16, Bergheim lost about 4 seconds which was a huge break for race leader Phil Langner. But the leading youngster had to survive many critical moments in the last minute of the race when many lapped drivers crashed in front of him. But somehow, Langner managed to drive through the carnage and took the win in front of Bergheim and Gehrig. A2 will be on the line on Sunday morning, and we are already looking forward to it!

ToniSport Formula
Stiebler wins A1 in kind of a classic Formula 1 race

Not a lot happened in the front of the first ToniSport Formula A-Main. Andreas Stiebler got off the line perfectly and was in control of the race all the time. The same for Jan Ratheisky and David Ehrbar. After 5 minutes, they crossed the finish line as they had started. The biggest winners of the race had been Andy Murray (from 7 to 4), Herbert Weber (from 10 to 5), and Marc Rahn (from 11 to 6). Schumacher`s Andreas Stiebler will start on pole again in A2 and all he has to do is repeating A1 – sounds easy doesn`t it 😊
