Urbain nails Q1 at “Mini Circuit Ville de Luxembourg”

0

Coelho and Orlowski taking second and third behind the “master of the track”!

With “knowing the track like the back of his hand”, it was Awesomatix driver Lucas Urbain who was able to TQ the first round of qualifying ahead of Infinity`s Bruno Coelho, and champion Michal Orlowski (Schumacher). When the heat started, top seed Ronald Völker was leading the field out of the gate with his Mugen car. Behind him, Bruno Coelho was coming closer and closer until Völker needed to open for him in lap eleven. But as this happened, Lucas Urbain was already leading the race after posting a new track record lap time of 16.415 (!) in the second lap of the race.

I had a tough day yesterday and I struggled a bit. I checked the pictures of my car on track in the evening and noticed something which we changed for today. It was a lot better then, and even the warmer temperatures played to my favour as I know these conditions very well here in Luxembourg. I was fully sending it out there and I am happy to start qualifying with a TQ run!
Lucas Urbain (FRA) Awesomatix|ORCA

Urbain was flying around the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg” and showed that a win will only go over his table this weekend. Coelho had a stellar pace as well and delivered a great run to finish only three tenths behind Urbain. Coelho maybe lost a tenth here and there before he was able to pass Völker on track and the next round of qualifying will be even more exciting to watch between the top guys.

Our reigning ETS champion Michal Orlowski took third for the round (0,9 behind Urbain) with his Schumacher Mi9 ahead of Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki), Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix), Simon Lauter (Awesomatix), David Ronnefalk (Xray), Alexander Hagberg (Xray), Eric Dankel (Awesomatix), and Sören Sparbier (Mugen Seiki). The heat is on in the Cayote Modified class and the rest of the weekend will become a thriller…..

Bultynck wins Q1, Kretschmer bins a good run, Benson second!

The first qualifier of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class saw current championship leader Ollie Bultynck taking the win with his EAM powered Awesomatix A800RR. Early in the run, his teammate Louis Kretschmer was leading the race but crashed out in lap seven – bad luck for the German. Meanwhile, Tim Benson was pushing hard behind Bultynck and took second overall for the round ahead of Xray`s Jan Ratheisky.

My run was clean and ok but my car was not turning like I wanted it to do. Once Louis (Kretschmer) crashed out it was bit easier for me to control the pace but it was for sure one of the more lucky TQ runs I had so far…
Ollie Bultynck (BEL) Awesomatix | EAM

Andreas Stiebler had a fantastic run with his Schumacher Mi9 in the third fastest group (!!!) and took a mighty fourth place for the round. However, it was a great start into the event for Bultynck (hot lap 19.802) and it will be exciting to see how qualifying will unfold when we keep in mind that Lukas Ellerbrock and Sören Sparbier were both sitting out Q1 to have a tire advantage later on!

Top seed Borschel takes Q1 in Luxembourg from Gridelet and Delisè

Awesomatix privateer Roman Borschel took the win in the opening round of FlySky FWD qualifying by three tenths of a second from Cedric Gridelet and Nicolas Delisé. Matthieu Dambrine from the UK scored a strong fourth place and was followed by Alexander Stocker and Robin van Gog. The heat was very close, and the lead changed multiple times during the run.

Robin van Gog lost some time in lap 5 which was very costly for him as he had a great pace and posted the fastest lap of the heat with a 23.877. It was a perfect start into qualifying for Borschel – let`s see what he can do in the next round against the strong competition!

Stocker takes Masters Q1 from Ehrbar and top seed Arts

The first round of 40+ Masters qualifying was a close race between top seed Ronald Arts, champion David Ehrbar, and the returned “King of the class” Alexander Stocker. Toni Mateo from Gran Canaria was also in the mix but had to take fourth place for the round after four minutes. Alexander Stocker (fastest lap 21.593) outpaced his Xray teammate David Ehrbar (21.751) by 0,4 seconds and is in a good situation now while Ehrbar needs to fight back in Q2 if he wants to take the pole position here in Luxembourg. Top seed Ronald Arts finished third for the round – can he improve his pace again?

Perfect run earns Threhout the victory in Q1

He was only seeded in eight place, but French racer Aurelien Threhout managed to post the fastest overall runtime in the 21.5 Stock class. Gilles Choque from Luxembourg finished a second behind him and took second place for the round, followed by Felix Hörenz in third spot. Carlos Gabriel do Pinhal had a superb run in the b-sort and scored good points with a P4, followed by his RC Maker teammate David Reip, and Mugen driver Christoph Kappes. The 21.5 class is wide open and it seems that the class will unfold absolutely great during the rest of the weekend!

Dominant Ehrbar wins Formula Q1 by a good margin from Miedema and Stiebler

Xray driver and championship leader David Ehrbar came out on top of the board after the first round of Matrix Formula qualifying. He had a pretty comfortable gap of 2,3 seconds over the rest of the field where it was Fenix driver Jitse Miedema being his closest follower in second place. Top seed Andreas Stiebler took third from Q1 with his Schumacher car and the four Xray cars of local heros Luka Jovicic, Jacques Libar, Xray designer Martin Hudy, and Michal Wojcik rounded out the top seven for Q1.

Mugen Seiki`s Völker quickest at opening day of ETS RD3 in Luxembourg

0

The first day of ETS RD3 in Luxembourg is in the books and beside a five-minute shower, the track was dry and fast all day long. All practice rounds of the day counted for seeding, and a quick 3-minute practice session on Friday morning will bring the track back to good conditions as we expect some more rain during the night. However, before we start qualifying on Friday we will let you know about the results from practice in our quick update report.

Coelho and Urbain closest to top seed Völker – champion Orlowski to start from P4 into qualifying

The Cayote Modified class saw Mugen Seiki driver Ronald Völker laying down the fastest three consecutive laps onto the tarmac in Luxembourg. He posted the fastest time in the fourth and last round of practice – so did the overall top 6. Bruno Coelho (Infinity) was second fastest and about 0.108 of a second behind Völker. Awesomatix driver Lucas Urbain, one of the top favorites whenever the ETS stops in Luxembourg, finished the day in third place and was followed by reigning Modified Champion Michal Orlowski (Schumacher), and the Xray of David Ronnefalk.

Behind the top five, Simon Lauter (Awesomatix), Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix), Antoine Brunet (RC Maker), Eric Dankel (Awesomatix), and Alexander Hagberg (Xray) completed the top ten after Thursday practice. With all the four practice rounds counting as seeding, Ronald Völker will lead the field into qualifying which will start on Friday after a quick round of early-morning practice which will be held in the qualifying groups already.

Kretschmer fastest from Bultynck and Rasmussen

The Awesomatix Pro Stock class saw last year`s second place finisher Louis Kretschmer on top of the board. The Awesomatix driver was only 0.032 seconds faster than his teammate Olivier Bultynck, but this small gap was enough for Kretschmer to end the day sitting in P1. Jesper Rasmussen was third quickest, while the Mugen Seiki duo of Sören Sparbier and Tim Benson was rounding out the top five.

Qualifying will start on Friday after a round of early morning practice, where everybody will get a three-minute run to break in the track again after the rain which is expected to hit the Luxembourg area during the night. The top drivers of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class will push hard, and the fight for the TQ will be as intense as always.

Behind Ronald Arts, the Xray trio of Mirco Thalheimer, Alexander Stocker, and David Ehrbar had been a bit on the back foot compared to Arts (gap around four tenths) but qualifying will be a different affair when the runtime will count over the full five minutes. Championship Update ahead of ETS RD3 in Luxembourg

With one more asphalt- and two carpet-races to go, ETS Season #18 is in full swing and the battle for the championship titles in the six racing classes is pickinig up some serious pace.

Even if we only have the points from two races in the rankings now, we like to give you a short update and a quick preview for the rest of the season and ahead of RD3 in Luxembourg!

Everything on track – Orlowski on course for title number 3

In the Cayote Modified class, we have seen the same as in the last two seasons – a dominant Michal Orlowski. The Polish Schumacher star driver took the win away from the first two rounds of the new campaing (606 pts) and is leading the championship now by 6 points over Awesomatix driver Marc Rheinard (600 pts), with Simon Lauter and Ronald Völker (both 596 pts) another few points down the road.

For sure, the competition has been super close to Orlowski in the last races and it seems like it`s only a matter of time until we will see a different winner again in the modified class, but somehow Michal Orlowski always manages to come out on top when it is time for the trophies on Sunday.

Orlowski`s programme runs like a well-oiled machine and all we can do is waiting for “the day” Orlowski will not win to see if it will change something in the championship. His competitors are not having so much time anymore to turn things around for this season – another win in Luxembourg and the second title defence in a row is on a silver plate for Orlowski!

With the addition of his first ever EFRA touring car european championship title at last week`s competition in Utrecht, the Schumacher driver will come to Luxembourg on an absolute high….

After two races, Rheinard with the best shot to challenge Orlowski for the title!

Marc Rheinard is the driver closest to Orlowski in the points standings. He was able to finish two times in second place behind Orlowski and has scored 600 points so far. If he would be able to win in Luxemborg, it would be the most thrilling scenario for the remaining two carpet races and it would bring a lot of attention back to the fight for the title. Is Marc Rheinard the “last hope” for the ETS fans to see a close fight for the title till the end of the season, or is it about Bruno Coelho, Ronald Völker, and Simon Lauter to make a miracle happen?

As perfect as Belgian chocolate – Bultynck`s start into the season!

Belgium ace driver Olivier Blutynck is leading the Pro Stock championship with a clean sheet of two poles and two victories (606 pts). Everything went as good as possible for the Awesomatix driver and the rest of the competition will need some amazing races to keep up with him in the fight for the title.

ARC racer Enrico Jung (599 pts) was surprisingly strong so far and is sitting in second overall with a second place from Apeldoorn and a third spot from Aigen. Can he keep up the good work to make ETS Season #18 the best in his carreer?

Newly crowned European Champion Adam Izsay (Xray) is ranked third (591 pts) after two races, followed by reigning champion Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix), and Tim Benson (Mugen Seiki). The scenario is getting hot and spicy ahead of the third round in Luxembourg and it is all about Bultynck`s competitors to show some pace!

Weffers leads the FWD field – when will he win a race?

No race win so far, but Xray`s Max Weffers is enjoying the championship lead (598 pts) in the FlySky FWD class by one point over Phil Langner (597 pts). Weffers scored two third places and was showing a very consistant pace. Langner seems to have a good form in FWD now and is one of the hottest challengers on top of the field. Jacques Libar (594 pts) is sitting in third place now and will try to win the race of RD3 on his home track in Luxembourg.

The winners of the first two races – Robon van Gog (Schumacher) and Gergö Valent (Xray) are only having scored one result until now and are ranked a bit further down in the list!

Stocker vs. Ehrbar – will it be an Xray team battle for the championship?

A “new and old” competitor is back in the 40+ Masters class – Alexander Stocker. He was dominating the 40+ class in the first years after it had been introduced at the ETS and it seems that he is the hardest challenger for reigning champion David Ehrbar now.

Both are running Xray cars, and Ehrbar (602 pts) is leading the standings by the small margin of one point over Stocker (601 pts).

Behind them, Ronald Arts (Awesomatix, 597 pts), Philipp Stadler (Mugen Seiki, 592 pts), and Michel Zierold (Awesomatix, 586 pts) are completing the top five of the Masters class ahead of RD3 in Luxembourg. All eyes will be on the fight between Stocker and Ehrbar – are there kind of “Papaya Rules” existing at Xray?

Will Zühlke become the first female title winner at the ETS?

Nadine Zühlke is leading the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock championship (600 pts) after two from five races. The fast female Xray racer from Germany is getting stronger and stronger and has a gap of four points to second placed RC Maker driver David Reip (596 pts).

Kristian Jensen from Denmark is third equal on points with Reip (596 pts) while Felix Hörenz (594 pts) and Levi Berkenbosch (581 pts) are rounding out the top five. Can Nadine keep up the momentum throughout the series? In this case, she could become the first ever female champion at the ETS!

Stiebler on the rise after victory in Aigen – can he challenge Ehrbar?

After two races, David Ehrbar is on top of the board in the Matrix Formula class. The Xray driver is showing a great soeed so far but so does Andreas Stiebler. The distance between the two is at three points only, and Stiebler will fight hard in the upcoming races to keep his championship hopes alive. Ehrbar has taken the title away from Stiebler last season and the Schuamcher driver want`s it back – we can await a nice and great fight for the big trophy in our ETS Formula class.

Behind Ehrbar and Stieler, Xray`s car designer Martin Hudy is third (598 pts), ahead of fello wXray drivers Luka Jovicic (594 pts), and Michal Wojcik (591 pts).

5 things we learned from ETS RD2 Season #18 at MAV Aigen-Schlägl, AUT

0

The second race of ETS Season #18 2025/26 is in the books – and WHAT A WEEKEND IT WAS. For many participants, it will be a weekend to remember as mother nature had different plans and it was raining “cats and dogs” for just too long. It was a hard task for the organizers to keep the event going (in some way), and the whole weekend was one from which we all could learn a lot. Here are five of the things we learned during ETS RD2 in Austria….

1) “Always the same guy…” – Orlowski on a different level!

TWELVE in a row – WOW. Schumacher star driver Michal Orlowski secured another impressive win with his Cayote, Elceram, and Power HD equipped Mi9 rocket in Aigen. It was his 12th consecutive race win in the Modified class which is absoluteley impressive. We are watching Orlowski making ETS history right now as nobody ever had a winning streak like him in the long eighteen-year history of the series. Track reporter Patrick Beck mostly welcomes Michal with a friendly “always the same guy” before the post-race interviews!

Even if it might become a bit boring (does it?) to always report about the same race winner, we cannot highlight Orlowski`s impressive form enough. His winning streak is even more impressive when we keep in mind that he has won every single race he attended after he could celebrate his first ever ETS win at the finale of Season #15 (!) in Daun.

The following drivers joined Orlowski on the podium during his 12 victories: Marc Rheinard | Awesomatix (9 times), Ronald Völker |Mugen Seiki (5 times), Lucas Urbain |Awesomatix (4 times), Simon Lauter | Awesomatix (3 times), and one time Bruno Coelho (with Xray), Eric Dankel (with Mugen), and Adam Izsay (Xray).

Thanks to his determination in racing and the tireless effort he and his entire team put in, Michal Orlowski is currently the star of the touring car scene. Many drivers such as Marc Rheinard, Ronald Völker, Bruno Coelho, Lucas Urbain and certainly many others want to end Orlowski’s ‘walk in the park’, and time will tell how long he can continue to deliver perfect weekends. In any case, the hunt for Orlowski is already well and truly underway…

2) Bultynck stamps authority on Pro Stock class

Olivier Bultynck from Belgium is in a very comfortable situation now when we look onto the championship rankings of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class. The Awesomatix factory driver had a great weekend with his EAM powered A800RR in Aigen and was able to seal a very hard-fought pole position.

Qualifying was a very close affair and Bultynck posted the fastest of the three different TQ results (Kretschmer, Nedrebø, Bultynck) when he was seven tenths quicker as the rest of the world in Q3. Finally, qualifying was enough for Bultynck to take the maximum points haul away from Austria. Following his flawless victory at the ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn, the championship will now be decided solely by Bultynck’s performance until the end of the season – advantage Bultynck!

3) Rain is not a member of the ETS family!

Long story short – we DO NOT LOVE RAIN. The race weekend in Aigen-Schlägl was affected by a lot of heavy rain, small showers, drizzle, and the ever changing forecast which is nothing new in the “Böhmerwald” region in Austria. However, we still can feel kind of lucky as we had been able to get four rounds of practice and three rounds of qualifying in.

Making decisions was not easy and the whole ETS crew did their very best. However, some decisions had been good, others not. We would have loved to see more finals and not only the modified ones on track. To just see the modified triple finals was nothing we had planned – in the end it was still positive to see at least one classs finishing their racing programe before the event got to an early finish on Sunday morning.

Watch the after-race talk with Scotty and Patrick again if you want to learn more about the whole circumstances of ETS RD2.

4) Seis joins club of ETS race winners!

Home town boy Simeon Seis was on fire all weekend long in Aigen-Schlägl. The Mugen Seiki MTC-3 driver showed a fantastic pace in practice and was able to win two of the three rounds of qualifying in the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock class. Simeon had scored solid A-Main results in 21.5 Stock during the last two ETS races in Aigen, but this time it was easy to see that he has made the next step.

Even though he was robbed of the three A-Mains due to the rainy weather, we are convinced that he is a deserving winner of ETS RD2. Simeon is now officially part of the circle of ETS race winners – congratulations!

5) Filip Hudy is “One to Watch”!

Young Filip Hudy celebrated his the win of the B-Main in Aigen. Filip finished the weekend in 11th place in the Matrix Formula class and drove some really strong qualifying races. If Q4 would have happened, Filip would have had a serious shot for the A-Main!

The son of Xray’s Martin Hudy is passionate about our hobby and it’s fantastic to see how he is constantly improving and getting better. Filip is always in a good mood and walks around the paddock with a friendly smile on his face. We are delighted to have such a talented young driver competing in the ETS and are sure that we will be hearing a lot more from Filip in the future. He certainly has what it takes – maybe one day he will become an Xray team driver 🙂

Even with a rain affected event that was far away from perfection, the teams have collected points for the ETS Constructors Championship of Season #18 2025/26. Today we like to give you a quick update about the standings.

Some teams have improved, some have lost some ground – but that is what makes it so interesting to analyse. An update about the drivers championship will follow in the next days…

Team rankings from ETS RD2 in Aigen-Schlägl, AUT

1 – AWESOMATIX (1203 pts.)

Trend: STRONG – Top favourite for the title!

Awesomatix is now sitting in first place all alone after they collected some very strong points in Austria. The four best results from Awesomatix drivers had been coming from Olivier Bultynck (Pro Stock | 303), Marc Rheinard (Modified |300), Phil Langner (FWD | 300), and Michel Zierold (40+ | 300).

The team collected exactly the same amount of points as during RD1 in the Netherlands and they are now leading the competition ahead of RD3 in Luxembourg. Team manager Max Mächler can open a can of Fanta with his favourite flavour now to enjoy the time until the next ETS race.

2 – XRAY (1201 pts.)

Trend: STRONG – Hardest championship contender for Awesomatix!

After being tied on points with Awesomatix after the season opener in Apeldoorn, the Slovakian team came short to Awesomatix by two points this time. However, it was still a strong weekend for Xray as they collected 1201 points which was the second best overall number.

The four best XRAY point scores came from Alexander Stocker (40+ | 303), Gergö Valent (FWD | 303), Tobias Baumbach (21.5 Stock | 299), and Mathias Nedrebø (Pro Stock | 296).

Xray seems to be the only serious championship contender for Awesomatix right now – can they fight back in Luxembourg?

3 – MUGEN SEIKI (1198 pts.)

Trend: SOLID – Sitting on P3 with big gap to both directions!

Behind Awesomatix and Xray, the Mugen Seiki team has once again scored the third highest number of points.

They came from Ronald Völker (Modified | 299), Sören Sparbier (Pro Stock | 298), Philipp Stadler (40+ | 298), and Simeon Seis (21.5 Stock | 303).

Compared to Apeldoorn, the Mugen team had now four results to count which gave them 1198 points to secure third oveall in the standings by a good gap to the overall fourth placed Iris team. A very solid season for the team around Ronald Völker and Robert Pietsch so far!

4 – IRIS (889 pts.)

Trend: POSITIVE – Small team with great results!

Team Iris is still sitting in fourth place overall after ETS RD2 where they had been able to collect the fifth strongest overall points from the event.

In Aigen, the IRIS points got scored by Matheo Buchhalt (FWD | 298), Manuel Stankowitz (40+ | 295), and Felix Hörenz (21.5 Stock |296).

A great performance from the team around Andreas Myrberg, especially when thinking about them having no Pro Stock or Modified drivers making A-Mains frequently so far!

5 – SCHUMACHER (600 pts.)

Trend: UNCHANGED – More A-Main drivers wanted!

Michal Orlowski was once again responsible to collect the highest points score (303) for Schumacher when he won the modified class again in Aigen. But the rest of the team was also pushing hard to get cars into the other A-Mains and they had been able to do it in Pro Stock and 40+ Masters.

The Schumacher points for the weekend came from Michal Orlowski (Modified | 303), Mark Valent (Pro Stock | 297). The team is still ranked in fifth place overall.

6 – INFINITY (593 pts.)

Trend: POSITIVE – Car and team clearly on the rise!

Bruno Coelho finished fourth in the Modified class and showed a great pace. Beside him, Italian Pro Stock driver Nico Catelani took seventh place and his points helped the Inf1nity team to rise from seventh to sixth position in the championship standings.

Points: Bruno (Modified | 298), Nico Catelani (Pro Stock | 295). Let`s see how the team will do when more of their new cars are hitting the track at the ETS.

7 – RC MAKER (300 pts.)

Trend: HOPE – looking for further Modified and Pro Stock A-Mains

The RC Maker team collected 300 points during the weekend under the leadership of their new european team manager Timo Siebert. It was a difficult weekend for the team as they only managed to get one car into an A-Main.

Luckily, David Reip could immediateley secure the first ever ETS podium for RC Maker. Points: David Reip (21.5 Stock | 300). The team lost one position in the constructors championship and dropped down from sixth to seventh place!

8 – ARC (299 pts.)

Trend: STAGNANT – Jung`s great results are not enough

ARC racer Enrico Jung secured another podium with third place overall in Aigen. But as there was (again) no other ARC car in one of the other A-Mains, the points from Enrico Jung (Pro Stock | 299) had been the only ones for the team in Aigen.

The car seems to have a lot of potentian – the team just misses some more drivers to climb up the ladder. Current championship position: 8

9 – YOKOMO (293 pts.)

Trend: STAGNANT – Difficult time for the team, waiting for the new car!

The Yokomo team is unfortunateley still sitting dead last in the championshipo. Only Frederik Hovgaard, who managed to make the A-Main in FWD, scored at least 293 points.

Yokomo has just teasered a first promotion image about their new MS2.0 touring car which is expected to arrive in 2025 and all they can hope for is a good car to attract more racers joining them again!
