Not everyone ends up in the A-Main or wins a lower final. But everyone is proud to be part of an ETS race.
We have created an easy way to get a memory. Generate a certificate with the ranking of your ETS race with just one click.
What do you have to do? Simply create an account on the ETS website, enter your MyRCM e-mail address and that’s it. You can find more detailed instructions on the page (https://www.ets.racing/drivers-certificate/).
The feature has also been added as a menu entry under Results. So that the drivers do not have to search for a long time, as the link was again.
The target is that the certificates will be available for download from Monday after the race. You will then simply see them as additional points in the list of your races.
If you have any technical problems, simply send an e-mail to: mediateam@ets.racing. For questions, requests or suggestions of course also 😉
Last weekend, the Cayote Euro Touring Series was back with a BANG and the biggest ever turnout on asphalt when we counted more than 330 entries. The AMCA Apeldoorn has (once again) done an amazing job and the racer`s feedback on social media had nothing but compliments for them!
Before we tell you about the 5 THINGS we learned during the weekend, we like to give a huge shout out to the whole club and the team around Peter, Gaston, Martijn, and all the other helping hands – THANK YOU.
1) Inf1nity is back…
Team around Coelho working hard on new Inf1nity touring car – pace looked pomising!
Inf1nity is back at the ETS. After some years of absence, the brand has now decided to join us again with their very impressive line-up of drivers, and their “Speciale” touring car prototype. And what a team they had sent to Apeldoorn… Drivers like Bruno Coelho, Naoto Matsukura, Viktor Wilck, Andy Moore, Jilles Groskamp, Jesse Davis, and Alessio Menicucci raised the level of quality in the field of Modified drivers and it was cool to see them working hard on their (still top secret) prototype car.
During the weekend, they had some ups and downs. Super fast runs on one side, and some technical issues on the other side. It was three time touring car IFMAR World Champion Bruno Coelho who qualified third on the grid. Bruno was the fastest of the whole team and during the entire weekend and was on a very similar pace as race winner Orlowski, second placed Marc Rheinard, Lucas Urbain, Ronald Völker, and Simon Lauter. Tough luck in the finals denied Coelho a better result and he needed to take P7 away from Apeldorn. However, Inf1nity is taking it serious and we can expect them to be even stronger at the next ETS race in Aigen. Be excited…
2) Crazy but true – ELEVEN in a row for Orlowski
Impressive winning streak from our double ETS champion – who will beat him?
Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski, Orlowski….. eleven races and the song still remains the same. The world of 1:10 scale electric touring cars is in the hands of the Schuamcher superstar right now and everybody has just one question: WHEN will his winning streak come to an end, and WHO will be the driver able to beat Orlowski?
Orlowski`s impressive series of eleven victories started at ETS RD5 in Daun at the beginning of 2023. Before he started his dominance, Mugen Seiki driver Ronald Völker (ETS RD5 in November 2022) and Lucas Urbain (ETS RD4 in September 2022) had been the last race winners using a different chassis in the Modified class. A LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY…
3) Racers love the new Hobbywing touring car combo
Driveability and performance – drivers had nothing but compliments for the new ETS electronics
The season opener of the new campaign saw the stock touring cars rocking the new Hobbywing Combos for the first time. Everything worked flawless and the racers enjoyed the smooth and powerful feeling with the new stuff. The XR10 Stock Spec ESC with the ETS laser engravement is using a special ETS firmwars to control the different RPM Limiters (18.000 and 21.000) for the 21.5 Stock, 40+ Masters, and Pro Stock classes.
The ESC is very easy to set up and is only providing the most important parameters for the drivers to adjust. The G4R Motors have a fixed timing endbell and the whole combo is a perfect fit for our racing series. It was amazing to welcome Daisy and Jason from Hobbywing in Apeldoorn as they wanted to see the bigger picture of our events. They had been really happy with how everything turned out and we are looking forward to a great partnership with Hobbywing for the next years!
4) Club of ETS race winners is growing
Zühlke and van Gog celebrating first ever ETS wins in the Netherlands
Dutch racer Robin van Gog made a dream come true when he won the race in the FWD class with his Schumacher FT9 car. He was the man to beat all weekend long, started from the TQ spot, and executed two perfect A-Main finals to lift up the big trophy in Apeldoorn. Congratulations Robin and welcome to the circle of ETS race winners.
Nadine Zühlke also won her first ETS race – from third on the grid! Nadine was very close to the win at last years race in Apeldoorn where she came a bit short to race winner Timo Siebert. This time, everything played to Zühlke`s favor when TQ Levi Berkenbosch did not have the nerves to bring home the win after a strong qualifying performance. Nadine Zühlke drove amazingly well in the finals with her Xrax X4`25 and was able to take the win in the first and third A-Main. She celerated with all her friends and we say: Congratulations Nadine – you are now an official ETS race winner!
5) 50 hours of travel time – no obstacle…
Many racers traveled to Apeldoorn from all around the world with the Australians coming the longest way
Travel the world and see amazing places – that is what they say…. Many racers traveled to ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn from all over the world. We had people from 22 different countries in attendance which makes us super proud and happy. Racer`s from Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, South Africa, and the United States made our event feeling even more international than usual. Thanks to all you guys for taking on the journey to fly over and hanging around with us!
Ryan Maker from Australia had (maybe) the longest journey together with his fellow countryman Baden McDonald, Jeff Hamno, Jesse Davis, and Tony McMahon. Ryan said that `ìt is a shame that these ETS races are more than 50 hours of travel away from his home`. In the same moment he added that he will `try to come more frequently when possible`. It is amazing to see so many people coming from a distance and we are happy to call them ETS family members at all!
The new season is underway, and we have the first constructors championship update for you after a fantastic weekend of racing in the Netherlands. It was “game on” when more than 330 racers attended the largest outdoor ETS event we ever had. With drivers from 22 countries including 15 IFMAR world champions, the quality was as high as possible and everybody highlited the event as kind of an “Inofficial World Championship”.
Season #17 champions crowned in Apeldoorn
During the trophy ceremony on Sunday, we handed over the trophy for last season`s constructors title to Martin Hudy and the whole Xray team. They had become the champion at the end of last season and are the first team claiming this prestigeous title which was given away for the first time. Once again, congratulations to TEAM XRAY for a strong last season – they are now the team to beat in the Season #18 constructors championship!
Awesomatix and Xray tied on points after season opener at AMCA Apeldoorn!
With the start of the new season, we have slightly changed the rules of the Constructors’ Championship to make them more transparent and easier to understand for everyone throughout the five races.
We now count by points from MyRCM and the rules are easy to understand. If you like to make yourself familiar with the rules again, just klick on the link below!
Awesomatix is tied on points with Xray, The four best results from Awesomatis drivers had been coming from Olivier Bultynck (Pro Stock | 303), Marc Rheinard (Modified |300), Roman Borschel (FWD | 300), and Ronald Arts (40+ | 300). A great start into the new season for the team around Max Mächler!
1 – XRAY (1203 pts)
As mentioned, Xray has scored the same amonut of points and is sitting first in the standings, tied on points with Awesomatix. The four best XRAY point scores came from David Ehrbar (40+ | 303), Nadine Zühlke (21.5 Stock | 302), Adam Izsay (Pro Stock | 299), and Max Weffers (FWD | 299).
3 – MUGEN SEIKI (888 pts)
Behind the leaders, we have the Mugen Seiki team sitting in third spot. They only had cars in three different A-Mains which cost them the chance for a better points haul for the weekend, However, it was a solid start into ETS Season #18 for Ronald Völker and the Mugen team. Their points for the weekend came from Ronald Völker (Modified | 297), Levi Berkenbosch (21.5 Stock | 297), Philipp Stadler (40+ | 294).
4 – IRIS (883 pts)
Fourth place after ETS RD1 is in the hands of Team IRIS around Andreas Myrberg. They also had three cars in the finals and they showed that they have stepped up their game ahead of the new season. In Apeldoorn, the IRIS points got collected from Jesper Rasmussen (Pro Stock | 293), Manuel Stankowitz (FWD | 292), and Felix Hörenz (21.5 Stock |298).
5 – SCHUMACHER (606 pts)
The team around the reigning ETS champion Michal Orlowski was able to win two classes (Modified & FWD) in Apeldoorn to score the maximum amount of points. Unfortunateley, there had been no other drivers making the A-Main in other classes leaving the team with 606 points “only” for the weekend. The points came from the results of Michal Orlowski (Modified | 303), and Robin van Gog (FWD | 303).
6 – RC MAKER (588 pts)
The RC Maker team collected 589 points during the weekend under the leadership of company owner Ryan Maker who made the trip to the Netherlands all the way from Australia. Tim Benson (Pro Stock | 292), and David Reip (21.5 Stock | 296) had been the responsible drivers earnign the points.
7 – INFINITY (587 pts)
The Inf1nity team was at the ETS with their whole team of super stars. But as they all were attending in the modified class, it was Bruno Coelho`s seventh place who was counted for the championship. Beside Bruno (Modified | 295), Arie Manten scored a tenth place (40+ | 292) to raise the score of Infinity up to 587 points.
8 – ARC (300 pts)
ARC racer Enrico Jung had the best ETS weekend of his carreer when he finished second on the podium of the Pro Stock class. But as there was no other ARC car in one of the other A-Mains, the points from Enrico Jung (Pro Stock | 300) had been the only ones for the team in Apeldoorn.
9 – YOKOMO (295 pts)
The Yokomo team is rounding out the field of teams after ETS RD1. With the absence of their top driver Christopher Krapp (honeymoon), it was only Frederik Hovgaard who managed to make the A-Main in FWD scoring 295 points. There is a lot of room to improve and Yokomo will try to climb up the ladder during the season!
Rheinard and Lauter on the podium as Orlowski makes it ELEVEN in a row
Before the last A-Main, we saw a lot of tension in the driver`s faces when they walked onto the drivers stand. Many guys still had a chance to win but only one driver could do it – our reigning ETS champion Michal Orlowski. Right after the start, Orlowski led away and never looked back.
He also benefitted from second placed Lucas Urbain spinning his car coming onto the straight in the first lap. Urbain`s car then got slightly touched by Coelho (who was just trying to find away around), and another car from the back of the field was hitting Urbain as well leading his car to be damaged. Urbain was out of contention and his chances for a top three result had been blown away!
Three more cars did not survive the first lap somehow. The unlucky guys had been David Ronnefalk, Tim Wahl, and Berkan Kilic. Bruno Coelho also lost all his hopes for a podium position when he had to retire his Inf1nity prototype car in lap 12 after losing a lot of time in the sixth lap of the race. After all these cars being out of the race, Orlowski had a comfortable lead over Rheinard, Lauter, and Völker which he managed until he crossed the finish line under the cheers of the crowd to win his eleventh (!!!) ETS race in a row. HATS OFF to Michal Orlowski for an outstanding performance against toe best in the business all weekend long!
Mächler wins A3 from Hofer when Jung and Izsay secured their spots on the podium
Ollie Bultynck watched the last A-Main relaxed from the sideline and saw many position changes in the opening laps. Max Mächler found his way to the front quickly and drivers like Izsay, Jung, and Benson lost a lot of ground in the first minute of the race. This mix-up brought Martin Hofer to second place, and he had a great race on track with his Xray teammate Jan Ratheisky for second spot. Hofer showed that he still has all you need to perform well after his 2-year break from RC and it was great to see him fighting at the sharp end of the Pro Stock class again.
Mächler saw Hofer coming closer in the last minute but Hofer was simply running out of time. A-Main number three went to Max Mächler ahead of Martin Hofer, Jan Ratheisky, Lukas Ellerbrock, and Timon Coenen. However, Jung (2) and Izsay (3) still joined race winner Ollie Bultynck on the podium!
Borschel wins A2 to secure second overall ahead of Weffers
After van Gog had already won the whole event, he was not racing anymore in A3 of the FlySky Frontwheel class. Roman Borschel took full advantage of the clear track in front of him and took the win in the last A-Main from Max Weffers, Jacques Libar, and Phil Langner. The overall result saw Max Weffers (3) and Roman Borschel (2) joining Schumacher`s race winner Robin van Gog on the podium in Apeldoorn!
Mission completed as Ehrbar takes hard-fought win in the Masters class
A3 saw a clean start from the field with Ehrbar leading away from pole position. Alexander Stocker and Ronald Arts kept up the pace with Ehrbar and that was how the cars circulated around the track for the first minute of the race. Stocker then came closer to Ehrbar but spun out once he was on Ehrbar`s tail.
After Stocker had disappeared from Ehrbar`s rear -view mirror, he could drive a safe and solid race out front. Stocker made another mistake in lap 9 and lost second place to Michael Uhlir. David Ehrbar then used all his race craft to bring home the overall victory at the opening round of ETS Season #18 2025/26 in Apeldoorn – congratulations on a very strong performance.
Zühlke withstands the pressure and wins for the first time at the ETS
After having two bad starts in A1 and A2, top qualifier Levi Berkenbosch did a much better job in A3 off the line and led after the first lap. Unfortunately, he was riding a curb too much in A2 allowing Jensen and Zühlke to go by. It was a tactical game then afterwards from Nadine as she knew that a second place behind Jensen would have been enough for her – but only if Jensen would not win A3 with a faster time than her winning time from A1. The forecast for leader Jensen looked faster on the timing screen, but Nadine found a way by Jensen in lap 13 to jump onto the captain`s seat of the race. Jensen was still close behind, followed by A2 winner Cedric Gridelet.
The last lap was a thriller to the finish line, but Nadine was able to stand her ground celebrating her very first race win at the Euro Touring Series. Congratulations from the whole ETS crew to Nadine – amazing drive. Kristian Jensen, Cedric Gridelet, Felix Hörenz, and David Reip completed the top 5 in the last final of the weekend!
Great battle in A3 when Xray`s Ehrbar wins ahead of Fenix racer Miedema
After we had seen Martin Hudy and David Ehrbar each taking a win in the first two finals, it was a fight with a distance in A3 as Martin Hudy had to work his way through the field again from his eight starting position. This time, David Ehrbar had the car of Fenix driver Jitse Miedema running close to his rear wing. The car of the Dutch driver Miedema looked like it had more pace than Ehrbar`s Xray, who was defending well knowing that a second place would maybe not have been enough for the overall win. Ehrbar kept his nerves together and brought home the overall win in A3 to step onto the top step of the podium. Martin Hudy finished second overall and the podium was completed by Jitse Miedema.
Orlowski from Urbain and Coelho in A2 – who will win in the Netherlands
The second A-Main of the Cayote Modified class saw many drivers already under pressure after the results from yesterday`s first final. Michal Orlowski brought the field around the first lap with Lucas Urbain, Bruno Coelho, Ronald Völker, and Marc Rheinard right in tow. Völker got an unlucky hit by Rheinard in the last right hander before the straight and lost some meters to the top three while Rheinard dropped down to seventh position.
Meanwhile, Orlowski had to execute a perfect job while still leading the race from Urbain and Coelho. The Infin1ty driver was setting Urbain under a lot of pressure and it looked like he was a bit faster than Urbain`s Awesomatix. However, a small bobble from Coelho in the middle of the race gave back some breathing room to Urbain who still was in striking distance to race leader Orlowski.
When the time had expired, Orlowski crossed the line in first place with his Mi9 with Urbain and Coelho following him within six tenths of a second. Ronald Völker was another1.3 seconds behind the top three. He seemed to have the same pace as the leaders but was not able to recover from the little tap he received in the second lap from Rheinard. Simon Lauter had another strong run and finished fifth in A2 followed by A1 winner Marc Rheinard, Tim Wahl, and Berkan Kilic.
The decision for overall victory went down to the line in A3 with Orlowski, Urbain, Coelho, Rheinard, Völker, Hagberg, Wahl, and Lauter all having a chance to win big at the ETS season opener in Apeldoorn!
Bultynck opens new ETS season with a real bangner!
When A2 started, we immediately saw Mächler hitting the rear of Jung in the chicane. Mächler lost a lot of positions and Jung was running in fourth spot after that incident. Ellerbrock took over third spot and was having a nice and intense fight with the Xray car of second placed Adam Izsay. At the half time, race leader Olivier Bultynck was already “checked out gone” as he had a huge lead of five seconds over the rest of the field.
The battle for second was still hot in the last minute of the race and Ellerbrock was all over Izsay with Jung waiting for something to happen behind them. Once Ellerbrock and Izsay touched side by side, Jung took full advantage and took over second place in A2 behind race winner Bultynck.
After having a perfect A1 on Saturday evening, Robin van Gog did not slow down and stamped authority onto the FWD class with another strong drive in A2. His Schumacher FT9 car looked “spot on” and Roman Borschel did not find a way to set van Gog under serious pressure. The gap between Borschel and van Gog was always between 0.5 and 0.8 seconds, while Max Weffers was again running in third spot followed by his Xray teammate Jacques Libar, and the Awesomatix car of Phil Langner. In the last minute of the race, van Gog was still in control of the race and celebrated his first ever race win at the Euro Touring Series – congratulations, well deserved!
Ehrbar fights back and wins A2 after a perfect drive
On the sound of the tone, David Ehrbar jumped into the lead from his pole and saw again Alexander Stocker charging hard behind him. The Xray duo opened a small gap to the Awesomatix of A1 winner Ronald Arts in the early stages of the race. Ehrbar looked more comfortable in A2 and did not allow Stocker to come as close as in the first leg of finals.
Ronald Arts also had not the same pace as on Saturday evening and was running constantly in third spot behind Stocker. Ehrbar executed a perfect final run, and everything was wide open for the overall Apeldoorn victory ahead of the third and decisive leg of finals in our 1up Racing 40+ Masters class!
Gridelet wins thrilling A2 in the 21.5 Stock class from sixth on the grid
TQ Levi Berkenbosch had another critical opening lap and dropped down to fourth place when he had to let Jensen, Gridelet, and A1 winner Zühlke by in the early stages of the race. Gridelet took over the lead in lap 6 of the race when Jensen was sliding around on track. The running order after 2 minutes was Gridelet, Jensen, Zühlke, and Berkenbosch in the top four.
Berkenbosch tried everything he can to find a way around Zühlke as he really needed to find his way back to the top if he wanted to stay in the battle for the overall win. He was able to pass Zühlke in lap 10 and moved up to third place.
Berkenbosch also made a great pass on Jensen, to just get countered by Jensen in the next corner again. Zühlke passed Berkenbosch as well and we saw a crazy last lap of the race when Gridelet won the second final three tenths ahead of Zühlke, Berkenbosch, Hörenz, and Reip. The decision for the win went down to the line in the last final of the day and it was all between Zühlke and Gridelet with a clear advantage for Nadine Zühlke!
The first lap of A2 saw Jitse Miedema loosing positions when he dropped down to the end of the field. Lap two saw Andreas Stiebler and Thomas Stenger falling back to eight and ninth spot – what a terrible start into the race for both. Out front we saw TQ David Ehrbar leading the race. He was hunted down by Michael Lipperheide and A1 winner Martin Hudy. After three minutes, Hudy was already in second and was “bringing the heat” to leader Ehrbar.
Hudy was the fastest on track, but he was running out of time and had to be happy with second behind his team driver Ehrbar. With a first and second place, Hudy had the best chances for the overall win and the decision was to be made in A3 where Ehrbar also needed a win or at least a second spot to fight for the victory in Apeldoorn. Michael Lipperheide, Jacques Libar, and Luka Jovicic completed the top five in A2.
Spectacular first final as Urbain, Völker, Orlowski, and Coelho all suffer from collisions
What a race we saw in the first A-Main of the Cayote Modified class at the ETS season opener in Apeldoorn. The grid was set under the floodlights of the AMCA track and Michal Orlowski brought the cars around the first lap of the race.
In the second lap of the race, Lucas Urbain had some trouble when he entered the left turn after the front straight. He got a bit off the racing line and Bruno was side by side with him. Völker could capitalize for a moment and passed Bruno`s car. This led to the situation that Urbain, Völker, and Coelho entered the straightway together and we saw a drag race down the straight. Urbain and Völker had been side by side at the middle of the straight and when Urbain started to break he was somehow in front of Völker`s car.
Ronald had no chance avoid hitting the back of Urbain`s A800RR and both cars flew off the track. We had a similar situation last year when Rheinard and Sobue had almost the same take off in A1. After the crash, Völker was out of the race and Urbain was only able to score a P6 in the first A-Main – a big disappointment for both drivers.
Bruno Coelho was now running in second spot and started to hunt down race leader Michal Orlowski. Coelho was on fire with his Inf1nity Speciale prototype car. He closed the gap to Orlowski, and everybody was expecting a battle for the win between them. But somehow, Orlowski lost traction when entering the chicane after the straightway and spun sideways. He immediately tried to counter steer and when he returned to the racing line Bruno was there and the cars collided. It was the end of the race for Bruno. Michal could still finish fifth for the run, but it was a nightmare for both – same as it was earlier in the race for Völker and Urbain.
After all these unlucky race incidents, Marc Rheinard had taken over the lead and was defending his position against a crazy fast Awesomatix teammate Simon Lauter. Before A1, Rheinard joked when he said “I will win the first one from P5 on the grid” – and it happened. Lauter drove a hell of a race and was all over Rheinard in the last lap, but the five-time world champ brought it over the line and celebrated the win. WHAT A RACE.
Behind Rheinard and Lauter, Alexander Hagberg finished third ahead of Tim Wahl and Michal Orlowski. A2 and A3 will be on the line on Sunday and just say: DON’T MISS THE SHOW!
In lap one of the race, all drivers had a good start and Ollie Bultynck showed that his qualifying pace wasn`t pure luck. The Awesomatix driver checked out from the rest of the field while a nice three-horse race for the positions was going on behind him. Enrico Jung (ARC) was able to take second place from Adam Izsay after seven laps and Ellerbrock was running in fourth place. At the halftime of the race, Bultynck`s lead was at almost three seconds which is a lot in the world of Pro Stock racing.
In the last minute of the trace, Izsay was right on the back of Jung again and they had a great fight for second place – with the better ending for ARC driver Jung. Izsay finished third and Lukas Ellerbrock and Jan Ratheisky rounded out the top five in the first Pro Stock A-Main. Bultynck is now half way there and the others will need a miracle to happen if they want to stop him from winning on Sunday!
Top qualifier Robin van Gog left no doubt about his pure speed this weekend in Apeldoorn. The Schumacher FT9 driver had a perfect start and was driving almost in a world of his own (fastest lap 19.309) in A1 when nobody was able to close in on his tail. Roman Borschel, Max Weffers, and Jacques Libar all kept their positions for the entire race and behind them it was Phil Langner who could find a way by Nicolas Delisè to take fifth place away from A1. Van Gog looked so strong in A1 that it is hard to bet against him on Sunday – let`s see what will happen in our FlySky Frontwheel class in Apeldoorn!
Arts takes A1 as Ehrbar and Stocker putting on a big show!
David Ehrbar brought the field around the first lap after a clean start from his hard-fought pole position. Alexander Stocker and Ronald Arts followed him as close as they could and the top 3 immediately pulled away from the rest of the field. Stocker was shadowing Ehrbar around the track with the gap always between 2 and 4 tenths of a second. In lap 8, Stocker was all over Ehrbar and the pressure was immense.
Stocker tried to make the leader nervous with driving different lines and was “looking high and low” but there was no way to go for him am Ehrbar was defending like a lion. In lap 12 of the race the cars slightly touched each other after running side by side for many corners, and Ronald Arts was able to jump onto the captain`s seat of the race. Arts had a big lead in the last minute of the race and brought home the victory in A1 under the applause of his fellow Dutch countrymen. It was a thrilling race to watch as Ehrbar, Stocker, and Arts went for it, and we can expect more of that in A2 and A3 on Sunday.
Zühlke wins first 21.5 Stock A-Main after chaotic start
Top qualifier Levi Berkenbosch had a very bad start on the sound of the tone and dropped back to the end of the field in the very first corners of the race – what a disaster for the young Dutch racer. Nadine Zühlke took over the lead after the chaotic first lap and opened a gap of 1.5 seconds to second placed Kristian Jensen until the half time of the race.
Kristian Jensen had his mirror full of sixth place starter Cedric Gridelet and was not able to close in on the leading car anymore. Nadine Zühlke drove a perfect race and crossed the finish line to win A1 ahead of Jensen, Gridelet, Reip, and Hörenz. A1 was a thrilling start into the triple finals. Can TQ Berkenbosch recover from his unlucky race on Sunday?
Andreas Stiebler made a nice pass on David Ehrbar`s Xray car in lap five of the first Matrix Formula A-Main. Stieber’s car looked “right on the money” and Ehrbar had a lot of work to do to defend his second spot against his teammates Thomas Stenger and Luka Jovicic for the rest of A1. Martin Hudy also joined the party (from eight on the grid !!) and after Stenger lost his position, Hudy was able to take second spot ahead of Ehrbar. Hudy closed in on Stiebler in the last 50 seconds of the race and risked a brave pass at the end of the straightway. It worked out for Martin Hudy and he brought home the win in A1 with all his team spending applause for “the boss”. Many positions changed during the run and the top five saw Martin Hudy ahead of Andreas Stiebler, David Ehrbar, Luka Jovicic, and Robert Kampehl.
Coelho jumps to third on the grid in Q4 to start behind Urbain and TQ Orlowski
Awesomatix driver Lucas Urbain finally got everything together and took his first TQ run of the weekend away form Q4. He was 1.6 seconds ahead of Inf1nity`s Bruno Coelho, and Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker at the end of the run. Michal Orlowski finished fourth and Eric Dankel (Awesomatix) completed the top 5.
With the result from Q4, Bruno Coelho was able to move up to third on the grid ahead of Ronald Völker and Marc Rheinard. Thrilling finals with an outstanding driver line-up are ahead of us and the crowd is already thrilled to watch A1 on Saturday evening!
TQ Bultynck sweeps qualifying in Apeldoorn – can anybody challenge him in the finals?
Having already secured pole position did not slow Olivier Bultynck down in the last round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying. He took another impressive win ahead of Xray`s Adam Izsay, Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix), Tim Benson (RC maker), and Martin Hofer (Xray). Bultynck will be hard to beat in the finals but his competitors will try to make life as hard as possible for him!
Robin van Gog has secured the sweet spot on the grid of the FlySky FWD class. The Schumacher driver was nine tenths of a second faster than Xray`s Max Weffers, and the Awesomatix car of Roman Borschel. Jacques Libar and Phil Langner made it into the top five of Q4 as well.
Ehrbar holds off Stocker to start from pole position
David Ehrbar is the top qualifier in our 1up racing 40+ Masters class. Ehrbar had to show his best driving to win the deciding last qualifier by seven hundreds (!) of a second in front of Alexander Stocker. Both drivers had a very similar pace, and the triple finals will be thrilling for sure. Mirco Thalheimer had a great last run to third for the round and was followed by Michael Podeszwa and Mathias Domig.
Jensen takes the last round to line up second on the grid
Danish racer Kristian Jensen won the last qualifier of the 21.5 Stock class ahead of Nadine Zühlke and Kai Gerhardt. The result brought him to second on the grid from where he will try to challenge top qualifier Levi Berkenbosch.
Stiebler takes last F1 qualifier to line up third on the grid behind Miedema and TQ Ehrbar
In the last round of Matrix Formula qualifying, all eyes had been on Ehrbar and Miedema and the fight for TQ. But it was Andreas Stiebler with his Schumacher car who could post a strong TQ run ahead of Thomas Stenger and Martin Hudy. The mixed-up result was enough for Ehrbar to celebrate another ETS pole position in the Formula class.
Coelho takes second in Q3 behind top qualifier Orlowski, Rheinard scores another P3
The third round of Cayote Modified qualifying saw again Michal Orlowski doing “Orliwski things” when he sealed the overall TQ spot for the triple finals. Orlowski was 2 seconds ahead of Inf1inty`s Bruno Coelho after the very intense five-minute run and posted the fastest laptime (13.257) of heat. Second spot was a good result for Bruno Coelho who really was in need of some good points before Q3.
But before Bruno could secure second, there was a hard fight going on between him, Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki), and Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix). At first it was Lucas who destroyed his run in lap 20 when he was too close to the white outline of the track coming onto the straightway. The grip difference between the white line and the tarmac caused his A800RR to spin into the grass and his run was ruined.
Two laps later it was Völker who lost the rear of his car for just a moment in the double right before the last hairpin ahead of the straightway. Völker said `hat he is really upset about it as he has no idea what he has done wrong there`. Völker dropped down to P8 after that and is also in need of a good result in Q4.
Behind TQ Orlowski and Bruno Coelho, it was Marc Rheinard who drove to third place overall in Q3. The Awesomatix driver blamed his own driving in the interview after the run saying that he `was not hitting his lines all time during the run` causing him to lose P2 to Coelho by 0.034 seconds only!
Simon Lauter and David Ronnefalk rounded out the top 5 in Q3 and we will see a thrilling showdown in Q4 for the remaining spots on the grid. Who will make it into the show at the ETS in Apeldoorn?
The third round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying saw another outstanding performance from overnight TQ Olivier Bultynck. He was on third run tires and was able to beat second placed Enrico Jung (ARC) by four seconds – a real statement from Bultynck (hot lap of the heat 15.793).
Jung had another solid run to P2 and is in a very comfortable situation now ahead of Q4. Max Mächler (Awesomatix), Adam Izsay (Xray), and Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix) rounded out the top 5 for the round.
Bultynck is now the absolute top favorite for the win at the season opener of ETS Season #18. Can ARC driver Jung, Xray`s Adam Izsay, or one of Bultynck`s Awesomatix teammates challenge him in the finals?
Schumacher racer Robin van Gog took the win in a very early Saturday morning round of FWD qualifying. Van Gog was 1.3 seconds quicker than Max Weffers (Xray), while round one TQ Roman Borschel followed them in third spot- Nicolas Delisè and Jacques Libar made it into the top 5 once more and have already logged in their A-Main appearances.
Before the last round of qualifying, Roman Borschel is the only driver able to deny van Gog the pole position. But as Borschel will need to beat van Gog`s fastest overall runtime from Q3, it will be a very difficult task as the race tires (only one set allowed to use) are getting older and older. Let`s see who will claim the FWD pole position in Apeldoorn!
Stocker crashes the party – decision for pole inQ4
All eyes had been on David Ehrbar as most spectators expected the Xray driver to put in another TQ run. But the heat unfolded different, and it was Alexander Stocker who crashed Ehrbar`s ongoing 40+ Masters party with a stellar TQ run. Stocker, who was the master of this class in the first years after it got introduced at the ETS, was even faster as Ehrbar in Q1 and Q2 which really spiced things up before final round of 1up Racing 40+ Masters qualifying. Ronald Arts took second place from Q3 ahead of Ehrbar, van den Berg, and Stankowitz.
Mugen one-two in Q3 as Berkenbosch claims overall TQ
Young Levi Berkenbosch has sealed the deal when he was laying down another clean run onto the AMCA track. Berkenbosch won by 1.2 seconds ahead of his Mugen teammate Kai Gerhardt, and Michael Koos. Kristian Jensen and Cedric Gridelet completed the top 5 for the round. Congratulations to Levi Berkenbosch for his first ever ETS TQ and good luck for the finals.
While Berkenbosch now can drive a pretty relaxed Q4, the other guys behind him are still in a battle for second overall on the grid and it will be all about Herhardt, Zühlke, Reip, Koos, and jensen to battle it out in the last round of Hobbywing 21.5 Stock qualifying.
Miedema wins Q3 – decision for overall TQ shifted to Q4
The third round of Matrix Formula qualifying went to Fenix racer Jitse Miedema. The Dutch driver was able to beat Q1 and Q2 winner David Ehrbar and the decision for the pole position will be on the line in the fourth and last round of qualifying. Behind Miedema and Ehrbar, it was Michael Lipperheide who had a strong run to third place where he was followed by Jacques Libar and Thomas Stenger. Will we see Ehrbar or Miedema on pole?
The RC Maker team is at the ETS in full force with their car designer Ryan Maker also making the trip all teh way from down under Australia. We had the chance to look under the hood of French ace Antoine Brunet`s Sp1 touring car just before the start of qualifying.
Antoine has equipped his car with the -2mm wheel base kit from RC MAKER to improve the handling on track. He is also using the RC MAKER split body mounts on his SP1. The car is also featuring a prototype steel chassis which is feeling good on track so far. If and when a steel chassis will be available for the SP1 is not clear now!

Urbain and Orlowski putting on a show – Völker flips his car early
The second round of Cayote Modified qualifying was another great display for our sport as the drivers had been “spot on” again and delivered RC racing and pure performance on the absolute highest level. Schumacher`s top driver Michal Orlowski started first into the heat with his Elceram and Cayote powered Mi9 seeing Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki/LRP), Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix/Orca), Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix/Cayote), and Simon Lauter (Awesomatix/ Hobbywing) hunting him down.
It was very close all the time and in lap 6 it was Ronald Völker who flipped his Mugen car on the center curb of the chicane after the straightway. Völker lost a lot of time and immediately stopped his car – bad luck for the Mugen driver
Meanwhile, Orlowski was chasing Urbain who had taken over the lead from Orlowski early in the race. Orlowski switched on the afterburners in the last minute of the race and was able to benefit from a slow penultimate lap (14.053) from Urbain to take the win in Q2 by a gap of half a second. Marc Rheinard was able to recover from his P6 result in Q1 and scored good points with P3 for the round. Simon Lauter finished on a very strong P4 ahead of Xray`s Alexander Hagberg and the Awesomatix of Tim Wahl.
The overnight top ten (counting both runs):
1. Michal Orlowski (POL),
2. Lucas Urbain (FRA),
3. Simon Lauter (GER),
4. Marc Rheinard (GER),
5. Alexander Hagberg (SWE),
6. Patrick Gollner (AUT),
7. Tim Wahl (GER),
8. Berkan Kilic (TUR),
9. Dominic Greiner (GER),
10. Akio Sobue (JPN). These results will be the base for the third and fourth round of qualifying which will happen tomorrow, and we all know that tings can (and will) still get mixed up a lot….!!!
After winning Q1, Ollie Bultynck went onto the driver stand to score another TQ run – on used tires. This was a very important one for Bultynck against his competitors and he is now holding the best cards for the overall TQ in his hands. In the interview after the race, Bultynck said that his `car was GIGA` and that he couldn`t have asked for a better outcome of Q2.
Behind the Awesomatix of Bultynck we saw a very fast Enrico Jung taking second for the round with the current ARC touring car. Jung had an intense battle on track with Lukas Ellerbrock and they both “almost lost it” when they had a small collision running side by side – a clear misunderstanding between them in the heat of the race. But somehow, they both could continue without losing too much time. Jan
Ratheisky and Tim Benson rounded out the top five in Q2 on Friday evening and Helge Johannessen took P6 with his time coming out of the B-heat.
Robin van Gog was in control of the second FlySky Frontwheel qualifier in Apeldoorn. The Schumacher driver was very consistent on track and took the round by almost a second from the Xray trio Max Weffers, Nicolas Delisè, and Jacques Libar. Phil Langner (Awesomatix) finished fifth and was followed by Torsten Baggendorf`s ARC.
Q1 winner Roman Borschel had a run to forget and crossed the line in ninth place. It is still all to play for in the FWD class in the remaining two rounds of qualifying which will take place on Saturday morning!
Ehrbar wins CHAOTIC late evening qualifier under the floodlights!
The last round of the day saw again David Ehrbar taking the win ahead of Ronald Arts, Michael van den Berg, and Alexander Stocker. David Ehrbar is now very close to the pole position in Apeldoorn – he can seal it on Saturday.
The run saw many guys crashing into each other and driving into the grass – it was kind of chaotic and we know that our 40+ Masters can do better. We also have our problems with drivers screaming at each other and to the race director and we had some heavy discussion about this at the end of the day. As much as we like to have competition on the track: PLEASE think about your behavior on the drivers stand all the time. You are experienced racers, and you should be a good role model for upcoming racers.
Levi Berkenbosch took full advantage of his first starting position and scored another win in the second round of Hobbywing 21.5 Stock qualifying. Berkenbosch drove a dominant race with his Mugen Seiki car and was six (!) seconds quicker than second placed David Reip (RC Maker), the Xray car of Kristian Jensen, the Mugen of Kai Gerhardt, and Michael Koos. Local hero Berkenbosch is our overall TQ now and he can seal his first ever ETS pole position on Saturday!
Another heat win from David Ehrbar secured him the overnight TQ in the Matrix Formula class. Andreas Stiebler and Jitse Miedema both pushed really hard to set Ehrbar under pressure, but they had to live with second and third place for the round again. Jacques Libar and Michael Lipperheide rounded out the top 5 and David Ehrbar is now only one run away from sealing the pole position.
