ETS Q2 Report RD6 Season #15 2022/23

In the second round of qualifying, drivers can always back up their good Q1 result – or recover from a bad start into qualifying. In our Q2 report you will get all the information about a thrilling Friday evening at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun, GER. Some drivers are close to book a starting spot in the A-Main, others are trying not to loose their chances for winning the overall championship!

Matrix Modified

Völker bounces back in Q2, Rheinard second, Orlowski flips in opening lap

In the opening lap of Matrix Modified Q2, Michal Orlowski had a traction roll with his Schumacher car in the opening lap and dropped all the way back to the end of the field. Meanwhile, Ronald Völker was leading the race with his LRP powered Mugen Seiki, with Rheinard`s Orca powered Awesomatix A800R right in tow. It was a very close race for the whole 5 minutes, and Ronald Völker was able to bring home the very important win in this heat to keep the chances for the pole position alive. Marc Rheinard crossed the line 0,9 seconds behind Völker and is still in striking distance when looking on the overall championship.
Christopher Krapp (Yokomo), David Ronnefalk (Awesomatix), and Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) rounded out the top 5 in the last heat of qualifying on a very long Friday in Daun.

Awesomatix ProStock

Another win for Lauter, this time ahead of Sparbier and Krähemann

The second Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifier was another show of Simon Lauter`s extra class. After winning a complicated Q1, he drove without any mistake and scored his second TQ run of the event. Behins Awesomatix driver Lauter, Mugen Seiki`s Sören Sparbier had an amazing run to second place for the round with Oliver Krähemann (Awesomatix) taking third place. Louis Kretschmer (Awesomatix) and Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) rounded out the top 5.
With his second TQ run, Simon Lauter is only one run away from the pole position, AND the overall championship. His only contender Mächler needs a TQ and race win here in Daun to take the title away from Lauter, but with missing pole position his hopes for the title would go up in smoke. However, we will know more after the third, or at least fourth round of qualifying on Saturday.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Unstoppable Schulz continues winning in FWD

After winning Q1, Stefan Schulz was on point again in the second round of FWD qualifying. His gap in front of second placed driver Roman Borschel was 0.2 seconds, and he is only one run away from a possible pole position in Daun which would be a huge break for the championship.
Roman Borschel finished second in Q2, and Sören Sparbier took the points for third place.

Orca 17.5 Stock

Borschel, Donath, Schmid, and Reile nose to tail in Q2

Roman Borschel took the second qualifier in the Orca 17.5 Stock class. But what an intense race it was! The top four finished within 0.413 of a second – that`s crazy, isn`t it? Daniel Pöhlmann finished fifth for the round, another second behind the top four. The overall ranking list on Saturday evening is listing Q1 winner Dominik Reile on top, with championship contender Jasmin Donath in third position. Everything is wide open and the decision for pole position and all A-Main spots will be on the line on Saturday morning here at the ETS season finale.

ToniSport 40+ Masters

Zierold again in Q2, Stankowitz now second overall with Mateo dropping down to eight place

Michel Zierold is on a mission here at ETS RD6 in Daun. He won the second round of qualifying and has two TQ runs to his favour now. He has nothing to do with the fight for the overall championship title, and he is driving very relaxed and without any pressure. The situation for Manuel Stankowitz is different. He is sitting in second spot now which looks very promising for him as Toni Mateo is only ranked in eight place after Q2. Even if qualifying is only halfway done, we can see the pendulum swinging a little bit to the side of Manuel Stankowitz.
Iris car designer Andreas Myrberg is sitting in third place now and it looks like he can also be in contention for the race win here in Daun. Torsten Baggendorf posted another fourth place and has booked his place on the A-Main starting grid for sure now. Caspar Morgen from Denmark is sitting in fifth place overnight!

Scorpion Formula

Stiebler close to seal the overall TQ after another win in Q2

We saw the same result as in Q1, with Andreas Stiebler on top of the board after five minutes. René Kölbel took another second place and the battle for the championship is getting even more exciting now. Behind the leaders it was once more a fight for third and fourth between Herbert Weber and Gergö Valent. A much improved Jacques Libar posted the fifth fastest time in the second round of Scorpion Formula qualifying.
