Rheinard wins at AOC in Australia

The Asian Onroad Championships is back and the first race after a long break (caused by the world wide pandemic) took place at the beautiful “England Park Raceway” in Brisbane (Queensland), Australia. The race attracted more than 200 entries and saw a lot of international top drivers flying “down under”.

In the premier modified class, qualifying was a close affair between Marc Rheinard and Ryan Maker. With both drivers posting two TQ runs, it was Rheinard (Awesomatix) with the better ending while sealing the overall pole position in the last round of qualifing after suffering some tire issues in the round before. Behind Rheinard, it was Ryan Maker (Awesomatix) lining up second on the grid with Yokomo`s Nicholas Lee starting third. Jeff Hamon (Serpent) qualified fourth on the grid for the triple A-Mains.

Marc Rheinard was in control of the first two finals and was able to win the race at his first ever visit to Australia. His Awesomatix A800R prototype car looked dialed on track and his win was well-deserved. Behind Rheinard, the battle for second was between Ryan Maker and Nicholas Lee, whith the Singapore driver able to steal the runner-up position from the Aussie who had some tire trouble in the finals too.

It was a great AOC event at the amazing England Park Raceway!
