Controlled Practice Report, ETS RD2 Season #17 2024/25

Bruno Coelho will start first into qualifying of the FlySky Modified class. The Xray driver posted his fastest three laps in the first round of seeding practice in the morning, the same as second placed Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix). Michal Orlowski was third quickest and the only driver in the top 10 able to improve his time in the second seeding round when the track was hotter – maybe not a bad signal for Orlowski as Q1 and Q2 will take place in similar conditions later today.

However, Coelho will have a clean track in front of him which is always something good in qualifying. Behind the top three it was Marc Rheinard and Eric Dankel who made it a 3-4-5- for Awesomatix.

Surprise as Benetin tops Pro Stock seeding

In the Awesomatix ProStock class, Xray driver Matus Benetin came out on top after seeding practice. He outpaced his teammate and last year`s Aigen race winner Adam Izsay by almost two tenths over three laps. A great performance by Matus Benetin here in Aigen so far as not many had him on the radar to be on top of the field for the start of qualifying.
Behind the Xrays of Benetin and Izsay, Lukas Ellerbrock and Olivier Bultynck secured P3 and P4 for the start of qualifying. Austrian racer Tobias Sutrich was fifth quickest. Many others had been quick and close as well and we will learn more about everybody`s five minute pace when we head into Q1 and Q2 this afternoon.

Awesomatix driver Pöhlmann quickest, five manufacturers in the top 5

The Hobbywing Frontwheel class saw the top drivers at a very similar pace over three laps. It is not easy to push the FWD cars around the track as a missed apex is very costly. Daniel Pöhlmann is the top seed for qualifying with his Awesomatix car and was followed by the Xray of Gergö Valent, the Schumacher of Mark Valent, Dominik Reile`s Iris car and the Yokomo of Frederik Hovgaard.
The Top 5 after Thursday practice (over 3 consecutive laps)
