Orlowski on pole at ETS RD2 in Austria

Q3 Report, ETS RD2 Season #17 2024/25

The third round of qualifying went to Michal Orlowski again. The Schumacher driver took the win by 0.4 seconds over Bruno Coelho (Xray) who had a great run on a set of used tires as well. With pole position already decided, Coelho will do everything he can to secure second spot on the grid in Q4. The Portuguese double world champion commented his run “It was really good as I was on a used set of tires. The car felt good after the first 3-4 laps and I am happy with P2 for the round. There was only a small chance for the TQ ahead of Q3 and now my goal is to secure P2 on the grid in the last one”.

Michal Orlowski was not 100% satisfied after the run and said “When the sun came out 30 minutes before the run it was a little too late to change important things on the setup for these conditions. The car was a little too soft on oils and not very easy to drive. However, I am happy with the overall TQ and will do everything I can to win the race here in Aigen”

Behind Orlowski and Coelho, a much-improved Marc Rheinard took third place with his Cayote powered Awesomatix A800R in front of Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) and Mattia Collina (Schumacher). As the TQ is already decided, the rest of the grid positions is wide open and many drivers need another good result in Q4 to secure their spot on the A-Main starting grid.

Impressive run from Izsay – decision for overall TQ shifted to Q4

The third round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying was in the hands of Adam Izsay. The Xray driver from Hungary was laying down a super clean and fast run on his second set of new race tires and was beating Olivier Bultynck` s fastest runtime from Q1 by almost 3 seconds. With the results from Q3, the pole position will get battled out in the last qualifying run between Izsay and Bultynck. Behind heat winner Izsay, Gergö Valent (Xray),Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix), Ollie Payne (Schumacher) and Dominic Vogl (Schumacher) rounded out the top 5.

Crazy close Q3 in Aigen-Schlägl goes to Pöhlmann

Daniel Pöhlmann was executing a clean run (finally) on Saturday morning and posted his first TQ run of the weekend. BUT it was super close between him, Frederik Hovgaard, and Dominik Reile. The top three finished the run only separated by 0.125 of a second which was just insane. Max Weffers and Luca Giovannoni completed the top 5.

With two TQ runs for Reile, and one for Pöhlmann, we will have a showdown for the pole position coming up in Q4. Pöhlmann needs to beat Reile`s fastest overall runtime which will not be an easy task on used tires but nothing is impossible in racing 😊

Ehrbar wins Q3 – decision for overall TQ on the line in Q4

The third round of 40+ Masters qualifying was a close one between David Ehrbar and René Kölbel.  Ehrbar won the heat by 0.1 of a second ahead of his Xray teammate Kölbel and has a shot for the TQ spot now in Q4. Kölbel still has the faster overall time to his favor, but the decision will come down to the line in the next and last round. Michel Zierold, Thomas Wegmann, and Ronald Arts completed the top 5 for the round.

Kriz snatches Q3 from Gehrig in last lap of the race

Jaroslav jun. Kriz took the win in Q3 on Saturday morning when the track had been dried again after the early morning rain showers. It was a very close race on track as Jan Gehrig and Kristian Jensen had great pace as well. Kriz (Xray) took the win by one tenth of a second only and was followed by Jan Gehrig (Xray), Kristian Jensen (Xray), Nico Eglseer (Mugen Seiki), and Simeon Seis (Mugen Seiki) in the top 5.

Formula Q3 goes to Ehrbar and Xray

After Andreas Stiebler had everything under control (2 TQ runs) yesterday, David Ehrbar was quickest in Q3 which he won ahead of Stiebler, Lipperheide, Jovicic, and Wojcik. Ehrbar also posted the fastest overall runtime of the weekend in this heat and has a good chance to snatch the pole position away from Schumacher driver Stiebler in the upcoming last round of qualifying. Let`s see what will happen on track as pole position is a key factor to victory on the Aigen-Schlägl racetrack.
