No practice – no disadvantage!!! Coelho ahead of Völker, Lauter, and Orlowski

The last heat of the day saw the Modified drivers posting crazy fast laptimes in Apeldoorn. With the sun not shining on the track anymore, the conditions had been absolute “HAPPY HOUR” and it was Bruno Coelho who nailed the laps 2-4, earning him the only 39-second time of the day (39.684) over three consecutive laps.

With Coelho not being able to practice in Apeldoorn before the event because of his own wedding (which is a very good excuse), his pace was even more impressive to rate compared to all others who had spent many days in Apeldoorn prior to the event!

Behind Coelho, Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker finished second for the day after a “very intense and stressful day”. His Mugen car worked pretty fine on track and he was happy to “finally get a clean five minute run done”. Völker described the track as super fast and challenging as everybody was pushing so hard.

Third place for the day went to Awesomatix driver Simon Lauter who managed to stay ahead of Schumacher`s Michal Orlowski and his Awesomatix teammate Lucas Urbain who completed the top five.

Dominic Greiner (Serpent), Marc Rheinard (Xray), Eric Dankel (Awesomatix), Tim Wahl (Awesomatix), and Yannic Prümper (Schumacher) rounded out the top 10 at the end of day one in Apeldoorn.

Four rounds of action packed qualifying will follow for all racers, with the first two and a half rounds scheduled for Friday.

Impressive Awesomatix 1-2-3-4-5 led by champion Bultynck

The four practie sessions in Pro Stock had been very close as always. At the end of the day it was reignign Pro Stock champion Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) from Belgium posting the fastest laps on the AMCA track. He was very fast in Apeldoorn last year, and managed to (once again) stamp some kind of authority on the first day of the new season. His advantage over his teammates had been half a second (!) which will leave some of the guys not having the best night of sleep.

However, Bultynck was followed by Lukas Ellerbrock, Louis Kretschmer, Phil Langner, and Timon Coenen. The best “non Awesomatix” racer was Jan Ratheisky taking P6 for the day.
