Modified Q3 is finally completed – Orlowski is on pole!

Here is a quick update from Cayote Modified qualifying at ETS RD2 in Austria. After a long time of waiting for the track to get dry, the third and last round of qualifying was finally completed on early Saturday afternoon. Michal Orlowski took the win in the last heat and will now start on pole position in the upcoming finals. Orlowski will see Marc Rheinard, Ronald Völker, Bruno Coelho, Simon Lauter, Eric Dankel, Viktor Wilck, Alexander Hagberg, Naoto Matsukura, and Michele Manzo lining up behind him on the grid.

As the ETS crew decided to do not run finals today because of the wet track and the bad weather expected for the rest of the day, the decision was then afterwards made to try to get at least the modified finals in as all the modified racers had been still trackside.

Due to the weather forecast for Sunday (which is still not promising) a decision had to been made how to count the results in case of only one or two finals can happen. Scotty Ernst called all 10 Modified racers to a quick meeting to vote between the existing options. The racers voted to run by EFRA rules.

What does it mean:
If we run three A-Mains, we count two as always.
If we run two finals, we count one as always.
But if we can only get one final run in until the end of the event the race result will count according to qualifiyng order.
The racers voted for this solution instead of chosing to count one out of one final and this decision will count now.
