What the teams expect! Serpent, Iris, and ARC ahead of ETS RD1…

0

Overall I´m looking forward for a great ETS saison again after my very first one last year. The main target is again to be in the a-main with our just released new X25 car. The field looks even stronger this season and like a world championship for every round. I hope I can learn from each race more and more to improve the development of the serpent touring car.
I think the very small team did a great job in just one year and our new X25 is really a huge improvement compared to the X24. Also the results from last year shows that the car is now on the level from the other brands with some innovative solutions and design. See you all in Apeldoorn.
Dominic Greiner (GER)

I’m really looking forward to the start of the ETS season and especially to the race in Apeldoorn. After an intensive preparation period, we are in a good position as a team – we have tested a lot and worked on the car to take a step forward in all areas.
The starting field for this race is extremely strong, which of course increases the challenge. But that’s exactly what motivates us. I’m expecting close battles and hope that we can get our performance spot on to fight for a good position.
The team is working extremely well together and the car feels really good – especially in the last tests we saw that our development package is having an effect. In Apeldoorn, I will be driving a prototype of our next development stage of the Iris One.
I’m particularly looking forward to Apeldoorn because the track is technically demanding and the atmosphere is always great. It’s the perfect place to start the season. We are ready and highly motivated – our aim is to deliver consistently, to continue to grow as a team and to be right up there at the front as the season progresses.

I’m really motivated for my first full season with Team ARC. Just two weeks ago, I drove the A1025 on asphalt for the first time, and my first impression was absolutely amazing!
I definitely hope to fight for the Top 5 again, and my clear goal for this season is to take my first Pro Stock victory. It’s also great to see how the ARC team continues to grow both nationally and internationally… that gives me a lot of confidence.

Schumacher Mi9 Option Parts

Schumacher racing is pleased to bring you a few exciting new Option Parts for the awesome Mi9.

The fine tuning of chassis balance gets more and more critical in Touring Car Performance.

This front weight for the Mi9 is a great option which keeps the centre of gravity super low, and positions centrally in between the servo and LiPo.

Made from brass and nicely coated in stealth black, its a great tuning tool.

Fits with either the standard kit servo mount or the popular AEROX LP1s direct fit servo.

U9033 – 20g Brass Front Weight – Mi9

Also for the Mi9 Schumacher released this 2mm ‘Stiff Weave’ carbon fibre chassis.

Ideally suited for medium to higher grip conditions.

The chassis has similar feeling to that of an alloy chassis yet is lighter.

The 2mm thickness gives that all important lower centre of gravity increasing corner speed.

It can be smoother and easier to drive than the standard kit chassis in the correct conditions.

U9079 – C/F Chassis 2mm (Stiff) – Mi9

Also crucial for Touring Car Performance is chassis flex.

This new C/F Split Top Deck is now available in 1.6mm, enabling a greater set up window to be obtained with the options available.

U9037 – C/F Split Top Decks 1.6mm – Mi9

An Option for improved reliability in a crash this new steering arm set gives a hard steering arm stop on lock.

In unusual crashes this can protect the front roll bar from becoming bent.

Standard Mi9 geometry.

What the teams expect! RC Maker ahead of ETS RD1…

Ryan Maker returns to Europe after 15 years – “a lot has changed since then”!

The start of ETS Season #18 will be a special race for the RC MAKER team as company owner and car designer Ryan Maker will make the trip to the Netherlands. Ryan has not been in Europe since many many years and it will be his first ETS race in the role of a team manager and mechanic for his team.

With the RC MAKER SP1 and SP1-F platforms being around for over half a year now, it will be the first outing for the team at an ETS race on asphalt. With many fast drivers in the team, RC MAKER will aim to push the car and the brand to score some good results on the fast track of AMCA Apeldoorn.

For me personally, it’s been 15 years since I last visited Europe. Of course so much has changed since then, and the support for RC MAKER all throughout Europe has been overwhelming since the beginning. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people, catching up with old friends, and sharing my passion for this amazing hobby!
I’m really excited to begin our outdoor campaign at ETS for the first time ever, with our SP1 and SP1-F. Our team and I have been working hard on development with our drivers and listening to the feedback of our customers to keep improving the platform in many ways.
Our team is rapidly growing in Europe, and it’s great to see the progress we are making. We are lucky to have many of our best drivers attending the race, and I hope that we will be fighting close to the front! Realistically, we can’t have ultra high expectations being such a young manufacturer against these very well established brands, but since winning is what we are here to do, if you go there with any other mindset you have already lost!
The event is going to be a spectacle, basically a European World Championship. It’s absolutely amazing to see the health of the hobby, and all of the great things the ETS team are doing to make these events possible. The level of competition in all classes will probably be the highest ever seen at ETS, and we are proud to be a sponsor of this prestigious racing series for many years to come. Safe travels to all competitors, see you all very soon!
Ryan Maker (AU)

I’m super excited about the event as the field will be extremely strong. For sure the strongest since a long time. I can’t wait to run the SP1 platform as it will be our first ETS asphalt race. We get data run after running and it seems we have a competitive car on asphalt, so I can’t wait to hit the track. It’s great to see the team growing up so fast with many good people.
Antoine Brunet (FR)

I am looking forward to kick off the eighteenth season of the ETS – crazy how time flies by. Overall, I am hoping for a nice weekend with good weather as we expect everybody to be there. The competition will be crazy high and I hope we will be strong as a team. Our SP1 feels way better on asphalt compared to carpet and with the direct support from the boss Ryan Maker as a mechanic we have the best possible asset on our side during the race. I will give everything to put the car into the A-Main. It will not be an easy job but I know that I can do it when everything will work the way I like!
Yannic Prümper (GER)

I am super excited to return to Apledoorn for the ETS! This will be my 3rd time at the beautiful Apledoorn track and the second time for an ETS! The ETS is such an awesome event, the depth of field is crazy. But for me the best part is the people, everyone has always been so welcoming and friendly. Fierce battles on track with smiles and laughs in the pits! This time i will competing with my new team – RC Maker! I am really excited joining Ryan and his project, his passion and enthusiasm is very contagious! Working with some big names like Prümper, Brunet and Hara can only help my ambitions for a good result. I can’t wait to return and say hello to all my European friends!
Jeff Hamon (AUS)

Last year, I was joined ETS in apeldoorn after that long long time 10 years break for ETS. I am very happy to be going to Apeldoorn again this year to joining in the opening round of the new ETS season as Team Cayote. This track is one of my favorites and I love the friendly local people as well as the signature layout. Team Cayote started last year and product, setup, also team have become much stronger then last year. My job to help Team Cayote to perform best in this year. I will be race with Ryan Makar that owner of rc maker SP1 following TITC. I can’t wait to meet the ETS family again as well. See you all at Apeldoorn!
Atsushi Hara (JP)

Apeldoorn is special for me as it has become one of my „local“ Clubs during the Covid times in 2020 when driving in Germany wasn‘t allowed in that times. In Apeldoorn I did my first ETS pole position and double A-Main, also with my „own Iris convention “ car. This year will be even better because I will see Ryan again after more than a decade and I am hoping to archive a great result with his car for him.

Awesomatix A800RR Touring Car

0

Awesomatix has announced a new evolution of their well-known and successful A800R touring car kits. They have just added another “R” to the name of the cars and the A800RR will be available with a carbon (A800RRC) or aluminum (A800RRA) chassis in the kit. Read the official Awesomatix product description here:

The A800RR builds on the success of the A800R platform and focuses on refining the revolution brought by the A800R.

Retaining the key features of the A800R – shortened chassis plate for minimal overhang and chassis rub and improved damping characteristics over the MMX platform – the A800RR incorporates several key quality-of-life upgrades.
These include the newly designed D4 dampers, which allow for seamless external switching between linear, semi-progressive and progressive damping modes without requiring a full damper rebuild.
Additionally, a new spool assembly reduces rotating mass and enables the use of identical pulleys for both the differential and spool, streamlining maintenance and performance.

Previously available only as optional upgrades, the SPR23-R shock pointers, AM180EVO2 steering bell crank, and AM23-1 rear steering arms now come standard in the kit further enhancing quality of life, durability and overall performance.

The recently released C01B-RAF Flex Alloy chassis plate is now included as standard in the aluminum version of the kit (A800RRA), increasing its versatility and making it suitable for carpet and high grip asphalt tracks alike.

Introduced with the SCC Steel Chassis Conversion Set, the newly designed AM278-EVO bulkheads come standard in the kit making the A800RR “steel-conversion-ready” for racers willing to upgrade in the future.

The new suspension geometry introduced with the A800R platform remains unchanged; however, when combined with the newly designed D4 dampers offers unmatched adjustability with minimal wrenching.

A800RRC features:

  • C01B-RC 2.2mm Carbon chassis plate
  • C127 Top decks
  • SPR01 Springs
  • Newly designed D4 dampers offering the ability to switch damping action between linear and progressive without the need of a damper rebuild.

UPDATE for FWD software!

0

Just before the start of the new season, we have made a small update on the software for our FWD class. Therefore we ask all FWD drivers to update their Hobbywing Xerun XR10 Justock G3S speed controllers to the new and correct software version with the name ETS-FWD18-4.4.05. The software is already available in the Hobbywing App and you can update your G3S speedo via OTA or the LCD programmer!

What have we changed?

We have just added a new blink code to the correct 17.500 RPM limiter and removed all other RPM limiter values (except unlimited). When you set the correct 17.500 rpm limiter now, the ESC will blink red-green-red-green-red-green…. This will allow us to check the settings properly and fast in the technical inspection.

Beside that, we have removed the functions where you could read out the motor RPM, battery voltage, and temperatures. Why? Because it only caused people to think about these numbers which are not noticeable on track in 99% of all the cases.

Update your stuff ahead of the race

The rest is still the same and all FWD drivers can rely on the well-proven feeling and driveability of teh ESC on track. If you are signed up for ETS Rd1 in Apeldoorn – UPDATE your ESC as it is your responsibility to race legal. If you have questions or need help, contact the Hobbywing tech support desk with the one and only Michal Milanowicz being in charge at the AMCA Apeldpoorb facility.

Wahl joins Hobbywing

0

After leaving his long time electronic sponsor ORCA some weeks ago, Tim Wahl has now joined Hobbywing. The Chinese based company Hobbywing announced the signing of Tim Wahl with the following statement:

We are thrilled to announce that German driver Tim Wahl has officially joined Team HOBBYWING. As one of Europe’s top electric touring car drivers, Tim has stood on the podium at ETS and claimed the Open Brushless class champion at TITC 2023.

He is also a highly respected mechanic, having selflessly supported his teammates Simon Lauter in securing world championship title in 2024. His professional expertise, extensive knowledge, and outstanding character make him the ideal member Team HOBBYWING seeks, and we take immense pride in his decision to join us. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together with Tim in the future

Entries for ETS RD2 in Aigen, AUT

0

Dear ETS Family,

even before the first race of the new season gets on track in Apeldoorn, we have some important information for our ETS family concerning the second round of the campaign in Aigen-Schlägl, Austria. As you all have seen how quickly the entries had been filling up for the season opener in Apeldoorn, we expect the same scenario for the race in Aigen-Schlägl!

Therefore we like to inform you today (and far ahead of time) that we will open the registration for the race in Aigen-Schlägl on

TUESDAY, 6th of May 2025 at 20:00 CET.

We have been in intense and very close talks with the MAV Aigen-Schlägl about the maximum capacity of people we can accet for ETS RD2. The club has once again improved their facility and we will re-structure some things allowing us to host up to 260 racers in the pits.

We will fix a limit in MyRCM for the entries to reach approximateley 260 persons. This is never easy to calculate in advance as we always have in between 10% and 20% of our racers doing double starts increasing the number of entires while not increasing the number of persons at the same time.

If you have not raced in Aigen until now, here are the most important facts for you:
Race
Date: 24.07. – 27.07.2025
Entries: We open the entries on MyRCM on Tuesday, 06.05.2025 at 20:00 MEZ
Location: MAV Aigen Schlägl, Krenbrücke 15, 4160 Schlägl, Austria
Track: Asphalt (new surface 2017)
Track length 243m
Driving direction: Anti-clockwise
Pit area: Covered pit area and additional tents
Camping requests: martin_mayrhofer@gmx.net
Catering: MAV Bistro trackside

Before placing your entries make sure you follow the diagram below if you plan to attend in more than one class.

If you still have no idea about the MAV Aigen-Schlägl and the amazing racetrack, just re-watch the Track Walk video with Oli Meggitt and Patrick Beck from ETS Season #15. You will get a great impression of the track and you will understand why you like to travel to Austria with your RC equipment in July.

XRAY is Constructors Champion of Season #17 – rule update for Season #18

0

With the Constructors Championship have been new at the ETS last season, we have almost forgotten to let all of you know who won the title. For counting the points we used the results of our RC Manager game which are made up of various results over the course of a complete race weekend. Perfect for the manager game – not the best fit for the constructors ranking list.

We noticed that using the points from the RC Manager game was not transparent enough for the people who are just interested in the ETS Constructors Championship without getting in touch with the RC Manager game. Therefore we have made some major adjustments for the Constructors Championship for the new season which we can share with you today. These changes will make everyting more easy and clear for racers, teams, the media, and everybody who is looking onto the ETS from a distance!

Xray wins first official ETS Constructors Championship title

The first official title goes to the city of Trencin in Slovakia where the headquaters of XRAY are located. The drivers from the Xray team have scored the most points in our very first season of doing the Constructors Championship. Xray driver David Ehrbar was responsible for naming the drivers for each race weekend during last season and after 5 races they won the title with a small advantage from Awesomatix around team manager Max Mächler.

The table shows the final rankings according to the points of the RC Manager game. The empty spaces are races in which the teams did not nominate (or forgot to nominate) three drivers before the race started. However, Xray is the official and well-deserved constructors champion of ETS Seaosn #17 2024/25 ahead of Awesomatix and Mugen Seiki – CONGRATULATIONS!

New rules for Season #18 2025/26 – more transparency and points from MyRCM

As mentioned before, last season was a “first try”. We are always aiming to optimize things and after a lot of talks with different drivers, manufacturers, and team managers, we took the best mixture out of all the information and created new rules for the Season #18 Constructors Championship.

For sure, we certainly can’t do justice to all ideas and suggestions, but we believe that the new rules are easy to understand and follow. Our main goal was to make it easy for everybody who is watching, for all team managers (as they don not have anythign to think about anymore), and also the media site of things in case of reporting about the championship.

We hope that everybody will enjoy the new season when the fight for the ETS Constructors Title will start from zero again!

Official Rules – ETS Constructors Championship

  1. The season consists of five races and all of them will count for the ETS Constructors Championship.
  2. We only count the results from the Touring Car classes and the FWD class. The Formula class is not included in the Constructors Championship as too many brands don`t have an F1 chassis in competition.
  3. We are using the official points from MyRCM to calculate the championship rankings after each race weekend.
  4. The best result of every constructor in four of the five classes count for the championship at every race.
    Example:
A constructor takes P4 in Modified, P1 in Pro Stock, P8 in FWD, P7 in 40+ Masters, and P5 in 21.5 Stock. In this case we will not count the P8 from FWD, but all the other four results to calculate the overall points for the race.
  5. A result only counts if a driver was in the A-Main.
    Example:
The best result of a brand in Modified is P9 in the A-Main = result counts.
The best result of a brand in Modified is P4 in the B-Main = result doesn`t count.
  6. This means that every team is responsible for having a car in the A-Main of every class (in the best case). If a team only has a car in the A-Main of two or three classes (for example) the team will only get these points for the A-Main results!
  7. We will report about the standings of the Constructors Championship after and before every race.
  8. The winning Constructor will receive a trophy at the end of the season and earn all the glory of being the best constructor at the ETS.
