ETS Free Practice Report RD4 Season #14 2021/22

0

Free practice in Neumünster

ETS RD4 started with the usual free practice on Thursday. Almost every racer who has signed up for the race took the chance to participate in the 5 rounds of practice in groups. As always on a fresh carpet, it took some time for the traction to come up and drivers had time to adjust their car setups to their likings. For the upcoming controlled practice on Friday and the four rounds of qualifying, we expect the drivers to be super close to each other. The fight for the pole positions will be intense with the fights for the A-Main spots not to expect less thrilling!

Matrix Modified

Coelho tops Thursday practice

The Matrix Modified class saw Bruno Coelho (Xray) setting the fastest 3 consecutive laps. He outpaced Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) by 0.4 seconds on the technical layout of Chuck`s Raceway. Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki) followed in third place, another 0.004 seconds behind Rheinard. Lucas Urbain finished the day in fourth and a very quick Davin Ronnefalk in fifth place. With the top 15 drivers being in only 1 second (!) over three laps, we can expect the closest qualifying possible in the Matrix Modified class!

Our reporter had a quick talk with Bruno Coelho about his first day at ETS RD4:

Right now, I am very pleased with my day and the track is amazing to drive on. It is technical, features some fast areas and is not too dangerous compared to the TOS layout we had here some weeks ago. I am running my Xray X4 with almost the same setup as at the TOS, and I think we only must adjust some small things on the car during the weekend when the traction will increase. It will be super important to keep it clean in the 5-minute qualifying runs as the track demands all the concentration from a driver!

Xray ProStock

Mächler fastest during ProStock practice

The Xray ProStock class saw Max Mächler on top of the field. The Awesomatix driver and team manager turned the fastest laps around the track with a very small margin of only 0.125 seconds ahead of the Xray duo Jan Ratheisky and Alexandre Duchet. Mugen Seiki`s Tim Benson was fourth fastest and Frederik Mikkelsen (Awesomatix) finished fifth during Thursday`s free practice at ETS RD4 in Neumünster.
Our Media Team had a quick chat with ProStock leader Max Mächler:

First, I would like to say that I am super happy to be here with all my friends and teammates. It is amazing that we all can participate at this event during these hard times with the pandemic and the Covid-19 rules are clear for everybody which is important as well. Racing wise I like the track a lot. I thought that the layout from the last TOS race here would be hard to beat but I like the actual track even more. I use my Awesomatix car with the last TOS setup and for tomorrow I have no expectations as Simon Lauter will arrive tomorrow morning to mix up the field a bit. I will put my head down and just “send it”!

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Interesting Thursday practice goes to Stankowitz

Manuel Stankowitz was the man to beat here during free practice at ETS RD4 in the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. He showed a great speed and booked the three fastest laps of the day ahead of Max Körner and Torsten Baggendorf. StickonRC`s Jonas Völker finished fourth for the day and Marvin Fritschler placed himself in a good position for tomorrow with the fifth fastest time. The championship leaders Stefan Schulz (6th) and Steven Olsen (9th) are lacking a bit of pace but we can expect something from them during seeding practice and qualifying for sure.
Manuel Stankowitz told us on Thursday evening:

Today was a good one for me. My car felt great, and I could fully focus on my own driving and the best lines on Chuck`s Raceway. But tomorrow will be a new game when everybody will start on new tires when the timed practice starts!

Orca 17.5 Stock

Bemmerl on top after free practice

Championship leader Thomas Bemmerl was right on pace here in Neumünster and set the fastest 3 consecutive laps on Chuck`s Raceway. He was followed by one of his strongest rivals from the last races – Daniel Pöhlmann. The Awesomatix duo was right in front of Tamiya driver Dominik Ruf who showed a promising practice performance in third place. Apeldoorn race winner Dominik Reile (Awesomatix) was fourth quickest and Patrick Miekatusch (Mugen Seiki) finished in a strong fifth place for the day.
We had a quick chat with Thomas Bemmerl after the Thursday practice:

My day went very well, and I really like the track with the technical layout. My car is easy to drive, and I have not planned any changes on the setup of my Awesomatix for now. For tomorrow I hope for some warmer weather as it is a little bit chilly here in the hall. So far, I really enjoy the time here at another ETS event with amazing people!

Tonisport 40+ Masters

Danish Dynamite heading the Masters class

Caspar Morgen from Denmark came out on top of the five free practice rounds here on Thursday at ETS RD4 in Neumünster. He outpaced the rest of the field by the strong amount of four tenths of a second with his new Xray X4. The German driver Andy Kühne was his closest follower in front of Nicolai Nielsen from Denmark, Toni Mateo from Spain and one of the organizers from Chuck`s Raceway – Manuel Stankowitz!
Caspar Morgen was really pleased with his practice day as he talked to our ETS reporter:

The track is really cool, I like it a lot. The layout and the size of the track is very similar to a lot of tracks in Denmark. Today I made almost no changes to my car but tomorrow I will try a different Differential to find out if I can improve my pace a bit more together with fresh tires!

Scorpion Formula

Kölbel tops Formula practice at Chuck`s Raceway

Austrian Formula racer René Kölbel turned the three fastest consecutive laps during today`s five rounds of free practice with the new Matrix foam tires. He was slightly ahead of championship leader Jan Ratheisky and a good looking Sören Sparbier. Michael Lipperheide and Patrick Sadrinna completed the top 5.
Renè Kölbel talked to our media team directly after his last practice heat:

To be honest, I am a little bit surprised to be on top today as I had only a few packs of practice on the foam tires before the event. My car works well, and I can drive it constantly over the entire run. It will be interesting to see how the traction level of the foam tires will evolve when the carpet gets more overall traction during the weekend. I will give my very best in qualifying and then we wil see where I will line up for the finals – I don`t really think about the final outcome of the race as Jan Ratheisky is normally driving in a league of his own!

René Kölbel

The Top 5 after Thursday practice (over 3 consecutive laps)

Last on Friday afternoon will be the first round of qualifying where all drivers and teams had to show what they have in their pockets. We are looking forward to Friday here at ETS RD4 in Neumünster!

ETS Track Check Neumünster, GER RD4 Season #14 2021/22

0

The ETS has stopped in the northern part of Germany in the city of Neumünster, some 60km away from Hamburg. The carpet track for ETS RD4 is located at the former Stefan Schnoor Arena (Indoor Soccer facility) and is now called “Chuck`s Raceway”, created by a group of motivated RC racers from the region headed by our ETS racer Manuel Stankowitz. The event is following strict Covid-19 rules as everybody is vaccinated or recovered AND tested (every day) as well. That neans that nobody must wear a face mask in the huge facility which

Fresh, black ETS carpet

The track opened its doors for the first time just some weeks ago and held a TOS race there as well. The crew from Chuch`s Raceway now removed the used black ETS carpet and installed a new one for RD4 to comply with the ETS standards. The track layout is also brand new to equal the chances for everybody.

Technical Layout makes qualifying even more important

All ETS racers have face a very technical layout here in Neumünster which makes qualifying even more important. Overtaking will not be an easy task as the infield section features a lot of slow corners where a tight line is key to fast lap times. The fastest section of the entire infield is the flowing chicane in front of the rostrum where drivers can try to make a pass before the right turn! Overall, the layout was made to create thrilling action for all ETS racing classes!

Let`s go racing

We are looking forward to the racing action at this great facility and we hope that all of you will like the location of Chuck`s Raceway in Neumünster for ETS RD4.

Preview ETS RD4 Season #14 2021/22 Neumünster, GER

Indoor season starts in northern Germany

The fourth round of ETS Season #14 2021/22 is up next and will lead us to the city of Neumünster, located in the northern part of Germany (60km from Hamburg). After three outdoor races, the fourth round will kick of the indoor season on the famous black ETS carpet. The new built track of Chuck`s Raceway awaits all racers is looking superb – a guarantee for some great days of ETS racing at the highest level!

ETS Tires – the black gold!

ETS RD4 will see at least two tire debuts! We will see drivers using the new Matrix Rubber Indoor tires for the first time in all touring car classes, and in the same moment we are excited to see the Formula cars racing on foam tires (also produced by Matrix) for the first time ever at the ETS. During testing, both tires worked really well, and we expect them to perform great here during the whole weekend!

Matrix EP 28R Rubber Carpet Tires

Offroad cracks going Onroad

We will see some big names from the world of Offroad racing attending the fourth round of the ETS in Neumünster. Schumacher top factory driver Michal Orlowski will be one of them, but as he was racing a lot of ETS races in the past years (and all three of the current season in the modified class) he is not the biggest surprise on the list of entries.

The Swedish 1:8 scale Offroad Super Star and 2016 IFMAR World Champion David Ronnefalk will attend the race and we are happy to welcome him back after he raced one ETS in February 2019 in Daun where he showed a great pace in the Modified B-main. He just announced his departure from his long term chassis sponsor Hot Bodies some weeks ago and now he has freshly signed up with Awesomatix concerning Onroad racing! We are looking forward to have him with us in this thrilling stage of his professional RC racing carreer as his future main sponsor for 1:8 scale Offroad is not decided until now.

I’m really excited to attend an ETS race again. This time will be different from my earlier showings as I come with way better prep and also with a top of the line platform. Looking forward to be a part of the Awesomatix team there and you can be sure I’m going to give it everything!

David Ronnefalk, Team Awesomatix

We are also happy to welcome the Mugen Seiki sponsored Kilic Brothers Berkan and Burak. They will make their ETS debut with Berkan racing ProStock and Burak lining up in the modified class. Both are very successfull in their 1:8 scale Nitro Buggy programmes and at the TOS in Neumünster they showed that they can also wheel a touring car. They will receive maximum support from their chief mechanic and father, Abdullah, and the rest of the Mugen Onroad team!

Let`s see how the Offroad cracks will perform on our black ETS carpet!

Many Entries for ETS RD4

The ETS crew is happy to see so many entries for the race in Neumünster. The whole team of Chuck`s Raceway has put in a lot of work and attention to detail to create a fantastic track – they really deserve this high number of entries. Everything is ready to go, and we are pretty sure that racers will like the facility in Neumünster.

But now it is time to take a closer look on the different classes, the list of entries, and what to expect from drivers and teams at ETS RD4 Season #14 2021/22 in Neumümster, GER.

Matrix Modified

Who will dominate on carpet?

It is always important for the teams to get a smooth transition from outdoor to indoor racing. The first indoor race is the chance for everybody to attack one more time during the season as some drivers favour carpet racing over asphalt. This time we will see Xray running their all new X4 touring car for the first time on carpet after they had a very strong debut in Apeldoorn. Another driver to watch will be Mugen`s Ronald Völker as he will also race on carpet for the first time (at the ETS) after his switch from Yokomo to Mugen Seiki. All these different debuts can be a great chance for Marc Rheinard, as he is used to his Awesomatix car on carpet since the race in Daun 2020 where he was fighting for the win with Völker.

Völker`s first indoor ETS for Mugen Seiki

With Mugen Seiki we have another team facing a debut at ETS RD4 in Neumünster where Ronald Völker will race his first ETS on carpet for his Japanese chassis sponsor. Völker`s sheet of ETS results for Mugen Seiki is looking excellent right now with two wins (Arena33) and a second place (Apeldoorn) to his favour. He is leading the championship ahead of Rheinard and Prümper right now and he will push hard to extend his lead to win another ETS title at the end of the season.
As Völker is a real ace on carpet, we will have a special eye on him and his Mugen Seiki ride. During the last TOS race in Neumünster, which was a so called “Inofficial ETS Warmup” (on a different layout), Völker finished second behind Coelho and they raced each other very close once again. Völker then took the win only one week later at the TOS in Augsburg and with this in mind we can almost be sure to see some amazing racing at the front of the Matrix Modified class during ETS RD4 with Völker in the mix!

Can Rheinard take the win for Awesomatix?

One of the drivers with the biggest goal to win must be Marc Rheinard. With his last ETS win coming from October 2017 (!) where he won for Infinity at the season opener in Vienna, Rheinard is suffering from a long period without stepping on the top spot of the podium. But at the last indoor ETS in Daun (February 2020), he looked very strong and finished second behind Völker after some epic battles in the finals. This must give a lot of confidence to Rheinard, and we can expect him to be on fire in Neumünster. He is 7 points behind championship leader Völker, and he needs to fight back in some way now.
Rheinard will lead the Awesomatix team with Lucas Urbain, Thimo Weissbauer, Michele Manzo, Tim Wahl and many more. Each and everybody of them can make the A-Main as the Awesomatix team is one of the strongest forces at the ETS. At the last TOS race, Rheinard showed a good pace and was on the same level with Bruno Coelho and Ronald Völker to finish third overall!

Big attention on the Xray X4

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Bruno-Coelho-Francesco-Martini-Xray-1024x682.jpg

The Xray team has gained a lot of attention with their strong X4 debut in Apeldoorn. As it is never easy to deliver a win in the first race with a completely new car, Bruno Coelho did an amazing job in the Netherlands with his TQ and win. Alexander Hagberg was also running on a great pace – he just made one small mistake and had no kind of racing luck during the weekend. With Antoine Brunet also making the A-Main in Apeldoorn, the new Xray X4 showed his potential directly out of the factory. With the switch to carpet it will be interesting to watch the Xray team in Neumünster when they will use the X4 for the first time at an indoor ETS.
As we are sure about Xray preparing well for this race, everybody likes to see on which level of pace they will compete against all the others. RD4 will also be an important race for Bruno Coelho as he (and Hagberg) missed the first two races of the season. To keep any chances alive, Bruno must deliver another strong result in northern Germany. But after he was able to win the TOS race at the same venue three weeks ago ahead of his closest rivals,Völker and Rheinard, he will travel to Neumünster with a huge boost of confidence! Coelho will see his teammate Alexander Hagberg also returning from a USA trip in a good form as Alex finished second at the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland last week!

Is Team Yokomo ready for a win?

The Yokomo team is on the move and showed some great results during all three outdoor races of the actual season. Yannic Prümper scored two podiums (3rd at RD2 & RD3) and is sitting in third position of the championship right now. His teammate Christpoher Krapp is fifth overall and showed constant performances as well. Loic Jasmin finally found his way back into the A-Main again in the Netherlands and showed the car`s potential to go fast. But somehow, the team was missing that little extra to fight for the overall victory this season. Can they find something on the car to win an indoor race?
With former ETS race winners Krapp and Prümper, the quality of drivers is in the team for sure and it is only a factor of time until a big win will happen for Yokomo again. After a long abstinence from the ETS (caused by the world wide pandemic), Yokomo` s Singapore based factory driver Nicolas Lee will strengthen the forces of the team at ETS RD4 with his speed and setup knowledge!

Xray ProStock

The Awesomatix empire strikes back

After a long time without a win in the Xray ProStock class (last win from Dominic Vogl in July 2019), the Awesomatix team finally got it done again with Simon Lauter taking an epic win in Apeldoorn. Simon won the race in an impressive way after great battles with Mugen Seiki driver and TQ Tim Benson. After this win, Simon took another win at the Pegasus Masters race in Piding (Germany) where a lot of fast drivers kicked off the carpet season some weeks ago. Lauter is now 5 points behind championship leader Alexandre Duchet (Xray) and he seems to be the only shot for Awesomatix remaining in the hunt for the ProStock title.
The Awesomatix touring car is always super strong on carpet and we can be sure about a strong presence of car and team in Neumünster. With Lauter, Mächler, Hofer, Donath, Bultynck and Kretschmer there is a lot of quality on the list of entries – will we see another win for the Russian brand? TAwesomatix team manager and factory driver Max Mächler was able to win the TOS race at the same venue and showed that the team will be a serious contender et ETS RD4.

Xray`s Duchet leads the championship

After winning the first two races of the season, Xray`s Alexandre Duchet finished only fifth in the Netherlands – a result that nobody expected from Duchet as he was so dominant before. But sometimes not everything went to your favour in RC racing. Something Duchet can be happy about is the fact, that his car was really fast in Apeldoorn, and he just messed it up by himself with simply having too many mistakes in his runs. But the French Xray driver will travel to Neumünster still leading the overall championship by 5 points from Lauter and by 6 points from his teammate Jan Ratheisky. Another Xray driver, Lukas Ellerbrock, is sitting fourth overall and the whole team will do everything to win the prestigious Xray ProStock title once again at the end of the season. The new X4 touring car will be in use by the team in Neumünster and after a strong debut in the Netherlands they will put some serious work into the cars setup for carpet racing as well. ALexandre Duchet finished second beghind Awesomatix driver Max Mächler at the TOS race in Neumünster at the end of November.

Benson, Jung, Lindegaard, Mikkelsen & Co.

Together with the strong line-ups of the big Xray and Awesomatix teams we will see the smaller teams and one man shows in Neumünster too. There are a lot of fast guys in the ProStock class, and it is always a hard fight for the A-Main spots. As this will not change on carpet, we are looking forward to thrilling qualifying heats and finals in Neumünster at ETS RD4.

Tim Benson (Mugen Seiki) had a fantastic race in Apeldoorn and was able to TQ the race with his MTC2. Tim is always fast, but nobody had him in mind when talking about a possible TQ there. He laid down a great qualifying and finished second overall after some epic battles with Simon Lauter. Tim is also known for being very good on carpet and therefore we are looking forward what he can extract out of his Mugen Seiki car to maintain his fifth overall position in the championship.

Yokomo`s Enrico Jung is having his best ETS season so far after switching from ARC to his new team. He made two A-Mains (Arena33) and finished second in the B-Main in Apeldoorn. He is now ninth overall in the championship and he will try his very best to carry over his great form to indoor racing. Last week he finished on a strong second place at the TOS in Augsburg behind Awesomatix Simon Lauter.

Schumacher`s Nicolai Lindegaard also made it into the A-Main two times at Arena 33 (11th and 7th) and won the B-Main at the last race in Apeldoorn. With the small amount of Schumacher cars running at the ETS, the performance of Nicolai is something to highlight for sure as he is on his own most of the time without the support of a large factory team.

Team ToniSport`s Frederik Mikkelsen is another one to watch when it comes to indoor racing. Frederik had a strong asphalt season making the A-Main at each race with his best result coming from RD3 in Apeldoorn where he finished fourth overall. He is ranked in P7 of the overall campaign right now and as we all know his race craft, Frederik will push hard to improve his position until the end of the season!

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Schulz and Olsen to battle it out on carpet

After three thrilling races on Asphalt, we are looking forward to the ongoing battle between championship leader Stefan Schulz and his closest contender Steven Olsen on the black ETS carpet. The German Xray driver (Schulz) and the Danish Awesomatix driver (Olsen) showed great racing so far and it will be interesting to see how the balance of power will be between them until the end of the season. Mischa Kroos is sitting in third position overall and he will try everything to defend this position from Henrik Heitsch (4) and Kevin Sparbier (5) who are still in striking distance for the overall P3.

Orca 17.5 Stock

Bemmerl top favorite for overall title

In the Orca 17.5 Stock class it is championship leader Thomas Bemmerl with the best chances for the overall title. With two TQ`s and wins in Andernach and a third place in Apeldoorn he is leading the rest of the field by four points with RD3 winner Dominik Reile and reigning champion Daniel Pöhlmann being hie closest followers.
As the start of the indoor season is always a good chance for drivers to improve their performance or to recover from a not perfect outdoor season, we are looking forward to the racing action in the Orca 17.5 stock class which is one of the hardest and closest competitions at the ETS for all ambitioned hobby drivers.

Tonisport 40+ Masters

Who will be the “Master” on carpet

When the field of drivers will hit the track in Neumünster, the show of the 40+ Masters will go on. Until now, we saw some great races this season with three different race winners. Søren Boy Holst took RD1 at Arena33, his fellow Danish countryman Caspar Morgen won RD2 at the same venue and Dutch driver Elibert Sievers won his home race in Apeldoorn!
With very constant results (P3, P1 and P7), Caspar Morgen is having the best chances for capturing the overall championship title right now. He is leading the championship by a massive amount of 7 points from Thomas Oehler in second and Mirco Thalheimer in third position. But as we have seen spectacular races with surprising results in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class this season, everything seems possible. We expect a thrilling fight for the title until the very last race of the season!

Scorpion Formula

Will the foam tires affect the ranking list?

The Scorpion Formula class will race on foam tires for the first time ever at the ETS in Neumünster. With the possibility of acquiring rubber tires for the F1 class being almost impossible, the ETS had to act from necessity and decided to bring foam tires into the Scorpion Formula class. After extensive and detailed tests, we will see these foam tires now in a race for the first time and almost everybody is very excited about it.
Racing wise it will be interesting to see, if the same guys will find themselves on top of the sheets or if some other drivers will be able to benefit from the new tires to close the gap to the frontrunners. Championship leader Jan Ratheisky will aim to extend his lead in Neumünster which would bring him a step closer to the title. David Ehrbar and Renè Kölbel are sitting in second and third position overall and it seems that only David Ehrbar can challenge Ratheisky for race wins this season. Let`s see what kind of an impact the foam tires will have onto the Scorpion Formula class!

We are happy to welcome all of you for ETS RD4 Season #14 2021/22 in Neumümster!

Let`s go racing!

New Matrix indoor tires for ETS

0

After a very successful outdoor season with our new tire partner Matrix, we are now heading into the carpet season. During the outdoor season the Matrix tires showed that you can count on them as they have been very reliable and the performance on track was perfect for our format of racing!

Tire development – not an easy task

It always comes down to a lot of “on track” testing when a company develops a new tire. Everything has to be right – the compound, diameter, tire wear, the wheel, the insert and the driveability on track. This was also the same during the development of the new Matrix Indoor tire for the ETS. With almost none of the carpet tracks being available for testing during summer, the first serious testing was possible in early October.

Excessive testing with Marc Rheinard

With Matrix team driver and multiple IFMAR world champion Marc Rheinard, one of the best in the business went for testing to find out which of the produced prototype tires will perform best on track. He had XX different tires with slightly different inserts and compounds and in the end he came to the conclusion that one of those performed better than all the others during his 2 days of testing on black ETS carpet.

“The testing went really well. The tires which felt best on track will satisfy the needs of all racers as feeling, traction, balance and lifetime of the tire was very impressive. I am sure that this tire will produce some great racing on carpet tracks – especially at the ETS!”

Marc Rheinard

Dish wheels for all ETS classes

During the outdoor season, we used the great looking grey spoke rims in the ORCA 17.5 Stock class and in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class to give those cars a different scale look. During testing on carpet, we found out, that these wheels are a little weak and maybe not durable enough for the slightly harder racing action on carpet with the huge amount of traction and harder barriers. Therefore, we decided to run with the well-known, white dish wheels in all ETS touring car classes during the whole carpet indoor season!

New Matrix indoor tires are available now!

With Marc`s huge amount of experience with testing and product development, everybody can look forward to using the new Matrix Indoor tires with a thrill of anticipation.

The tires have arrived in Andernach and can be bought immediately. ToniSport receives new deliveries from Italy every week, so that supplies are available for training up to TOS and ETS. Use the stock alert function in the shop if the tires are sold out and you will immediately receive an email as soon as the stock is replenished.

Keep racing,
Uwe, Scotty and the whole ETS crew!

Foam tires for Scorpion Formula class

0

In the Scorpion Formula class, we will see foam tires for the first time at the ETS. Since the introduction of the Formula class at the Euro Touring Series in 2012, the class is well-known, and we saw some great racing in all these years. Since the first Formula race in 2012, the Formula cars always used rubber tires from Ride or Volante at the ETS.

Foam tires the only option

With all our tire suppliers not being able to deliver rubber tires for the formula class due to raw material shortages, the ETS had not a lot of choices to find an alternative. We talked to our touring car tire supplier Matrix, and they showed their interest in producing a special “ETS Formula Foam Tire” for us immediately. As foam tires have different material requirements during production, the supply of tires will be guaranteed.

Jan Ratheisky the main test driver

The most successful Formula driver in the history of the ETS is Jan Ratheisky. He is helping us with testing the tires and we will use his feedback to develop the best possible foam tire for the ETS Formula class. Jan loves formula racing and you can count on his knowledge and his interest to get the best tire for everybody in this class.

Performance and Handling of foam tires

As everybody knows, foam tires have a different handling on track – especially on carpet. We will test the Matrix foam tires meticulous to provide you the best possible Formula experience at the ETS. We are working on this project with high pressure and our main goal is a tire which is easy to drive. The tire additive for the Formula class will stay the same  – MR33 V3 on asphalt and MR44 V4 on carpet!

Tires to be available soon

We are still in the final stages of testing, but we are optimistic that the new ETS foam tires for the formula class will be available very soon – we will keep you updated!

Chuck`s Raceway is ready to rock

0

In a period of 2 weeks, the “Chuck`s raceway” team converted the former “Stefan Schnoor Arena” indoor soccer hall into a really nice RC raceway. The team installed the famous black ETS carpet and created a flowing layout with our well-known ETS curbs. With the astro turf pit area directly behind the track, everything is compact and easy to approach. On the pictures you may have noticed, that the driver stand doesn’t feature separation walls anymore. This is caused by the applied 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19). The rostrum will be easy to step on and off as there are stairs on both sides. The whole facility in Neumünster looks brilliant right now and we are looking forward to ETS RD4 in December.

Practice and TOS in Neumünster

As it looks right now, there will be a TOS race in Neumünster in November. This will be a great chance to practice on the ETS carpet in race conditions and to get used to the facility and its surroundings. There will also be normal practice days on Chuck`s Raceway – more information about that to follow soon!

New ETS carpet and layout for RD4

We received some questions about the track and the carpet for the ETS race. Therefore we like to point out: There will be a completeöey NEW carpet with a NEW layout for ETS RD4 in December. The team in Neumünster will lay down the fresh carpet in the days right before the race and nobody will drive on it until the start of Thursday practice. It will be like always when we race indoors – same chances for everybody!

ETS Registration opens for RD4 Season #14 2021/22 in Neumünster, GER

Dear ETS Family,

after a great outdoor season, where we luckily have been able to organize three ETS races for you, we are now happy to announce the date and location for ETS RD4.

ETS RD4 in Neumünster

For the next round we will travel to Neumünster, a city in the northern part of Germany (60km from Hamburg). There we will race on our well known black ETS carpet in a nice facility called “Stefan Schnoor Arena”. The whole facility was created for Indoor Soccer but is not in use anymore. Together with a group of very motivated ETS drivers around Manuel Stankowitz, we will prepare everything to enjoy another great event with all of you in December.

360 degree view – before the renovation of the hall starts

We will report regularly on the conversion of the hall into a raceway. Get a first impression with this 360 degree picture. A click on the picture opens a new tab to have the maximum experience.

Here are the most important facts for you:

Date: 09. – 12.12.2021
Location: Stefan Schnoor Arena, Fehmarnstraße 16, 24539 Neumünster, Germany
Track: Black ETS carpet (new)
Track size: 30 x 20m
Covid-19 Rules: Only vaccinated, or from Covid-19 recovered persons are allowed to attend ETS RD4
Entries: We open MyRCM for entries on Tuesday, 05.10.2021 at 20:00 MEZ

Covid-19 Rules:

As only vaccinated and from Covid-19 recovered persons are allowed to attend this indoor race, it is not necessary to wear a face mask in the facilities anymore. We also will not have a limitation in the number of entries due to this rule.

Thursday Practice

When looking on the date, you can see that we have implemented a free practice Thursday for ETS RD4. On this day we will practice in groups to give anybody more track time and an even better ETS experience – the same as we are doing at our outdoor races. This practice Thursday is very important for us and a major part for making an indoor event like this possible. We hope for your understanding and your ongoing support!

For every driver who will not be able to practice on Thursday, there will be a space of time from 7:00 to 10:00am on Friday morning where only these drivers can practice on the track as we don`t want anybody having kind of a disadvantage when racing will start. We will talk with all these drivers and organize their practice fair and strict. Please inform us during the registration process on MyRCM if you will practice on Thursday, or if you will join us at least Friday morning!

MyRCM Driver Information

We are racing in six different classes at the ETS this season. Our Media Team is trying to cover all classes as good as possible which is not an easy task during these hectical days of racing at the ETS. As we always want to list the car and electronic brands of the drivers, we need YOUR help:

Before you sign up for RD4, please fill in or correct your data on MyRCM. Make sure that the brands of your car and other equipment are correct as we will use them for our reports from now on. We count on you guys!

In addition, the media team wants to introduce tech charts (pie charts) again. It is clear that parts are specified in the stock classes, but it may be interesting for one or the other to see how the percentage distribution of the bodies or the chassis is over the entire field of drivers.

Registration

We will open the registration on MyRCM on Tuesday, 05.10.2021 at 20:00 MEZ.

Kind regards from
Uwe, Scotty and the whole ETS crew!
