EWS CHAMPIONSHIP HOTS UP AS HARPER WINS AGAIN AT RD 4

0

MODIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE DECIDED AT SERIES FINALE

The penultimate round of the Essex Winter Series took place this Sunday, and confirmed that the LRP Modified champion would once again be crowned in the Series Finale next month!

Kyle Branson opened proceedings, setting the best times in Q1 and Q2. The ToniSport-backed driver had now chosen to run a Mugen MTC-3 chassis for the rest of the winter, and it was a Mugen 1-2 as he led Alex Thurston in both the opening runs. Chris Grainger seemed to have re-found his form after a tough start to the winter by taking third in the first round and fourth in the second qualifier. Elliott Harper, a championship contender alongside Kyle and Alex, seemed on the back foot after a fifth and third place scores.

However, for Q3, Elliott found some pace with his Schumacher, posting a new fastest time to top the round ahead of Kyle and Alex, before a tight final qualifier again saw Elliott lead Kyle and Alex to secure the overall pole position. Chris would line up fourth with his Reedy Power-backed Schumacher, with Bailey Graves (Schumacher) rounding out the top five.

The A Final ultimately turned in to a dominant drive from Elliott, with the top three breaking away from the rest of the field in the opening laps, before Elliott then pulled away further to leave the two Mugen cars to fight over second and third. At the half-distance mark, Kyle made a small mistake, leaving just enough space for Alex to pounce and move up to second.  However, a few laps later, a lapped car then took out Alex, allowing Kyle back up into second in the race. That was the order they finished, with Elliott making it back-to-back wins and moving into the championship lead. However, Kyle’s gift of second place leaves him tied with Elliott, and now Alex two points behind – meaning the championship will be decided in March.

FINLAY ONCE AGAIN IN STOCK

Despite having the overall Rush Stock class championship wrapped up, Zak Finlay was determined to continue his run of success at EWS. The Zombie-backed driver took his Awesomatix to the pole position, topping three of the qualifying rounds. Schumacher designer Andy Murray demonstrated the continued development of his platform as he put in the best time in Q3 to line up second on the grid, and looking closer to Zak than he previously had at the earlier rounds of EWS. Finley Whitelock continues to make his mark on the UK Touring Car scene and lined up third on the grid for Schumacher, with Cosmic RC driver Adam Southgate in fourth and the Schumacher of Ethan Southall rounding out the top five.

It was a fight in the A Final between the top three qualifiers – Zak was able to quickly build a lead of about one second, but that fluctuated as Andy switched between defending his position from Finley, and attacking Zak ahead. Finley kept the pressure on and as the race approached the final minute, a small bobble from Andy allowed his team-mate through into second place, and that was the order they finished. Behind, Adam had remained close to the top-three battle throughout and then closed within a second at the buzzer and Ethan maintained his fifth place at the end. This means that Andy and Finley are split by two points ahead of the Season Finale in the fight to be runner-up to Zak in the standings.

BLAKE CONTINUES IN FWD

As in the Stock class, the ToniSport Front Wheel Drive class continues to be dominated by one driver as Dan Blake led every round of qualifying. Lining up second on the grid this time would be 2024 British Touring Car Champion Jake Hill, scoring his best ever qualifying result at EWS. Jake would be ahead of Michael Chapman, who had a chance to secure the championship runner-up spot at the event, with the rest of the top five on the starting grid made up of Mark Trinder and Stuart Collard.

Dan’s domination of the class continued in the final, leading the race from the start and seemingly building his gap every single lap. Jake maintained second place, with Michael a few seconds behind – not close enough to attempt any pass, but staying in touch so that if Jake made a mistake, Michael would have a chance to pounce.  The close FWD racing continued behind, with Nathan Parker making moves from ninth on the grid to move up – knowing that he needed to beat Michael to stand any chance of replacing him as series runner-up. Whilst Dan had a lonely race to stamp his authority on the final, Jake didn’t put a wheel wrong and took a well-deserved second place, with Michael rounding out the podium. Nathan had just too much work to do, but ended up fourth at the finish and Stuart finishing in fifth. That result should mean that Michael will take second place in the points standings and Nathan making the podium – but those positions will only be confirmed following next month’s finale.

The series concludes with Round 5 in March – which will include the overall championship presentations!

One hand on the trophy – can Awesomatix win the ETS constructors title at Arena Nova?

0

The fourth round of ETS Season #18 2025/26 was important for all teams. With one round still to go, we have a clear trend now and can report that Awesomatix will fight with Xray for the second ever ETS constructors championship. Xray won this title last season, but they are now 22 points behind Awesomatix.

But as the rules are strict and hard, a single bad weekend for Awesomatix (with maybe only three cars in different A-Mains) would open the door for the team aroudn Martin Hudy again. It is not over until it`s over – all to play for in Wiener Neustadt, AUT.

OVERALL RANKINGS OF ETS CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER RD4

Team rankings from ETS RD4 at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun

The followong list is showing the team performances at ETS RD4 in Daun. It was close at the top, had many surprises, and some disappointing results. The season finale in Wiener Neustadt is the last chance for the teams to move up the rankings!

1 – AWESOMATIX (1204 pts.)

Trend: DOMINANT
First constructors title right in sight…!

The Awesomatix Team had another great weekend in Daun. The team scored 1204 points which was their second best result of the season. Even more important: They extended their championship lead by 5 points and are now 22 ahead of their hardest competitors Xray.

With only one race to go, the championship is right in sight. But as everythign is possible in the world of racing, Awesomatix needs to deliver some good A-main results in Wiener Neustadt to not loose a possible first constructors title in the very last minute.

In Daun, the 1204 points have been scored by Marc Rheinard (Modified|300), Louis Kretschmer (Pro Stock|303), Phil Langner (FWD|303), and Michel Zierold (40+|298). Team manager Max Mächler is very competitive and we all know how much it would mean for the team to clinch this championship!

1 – XRAY (1199 pts.)

Trend: VERY STRONG
But the team lost five points to Awesomatix!

Xray had a very good race weekend in Daun. They managed to have cars in ALL a-mains and scored a total of 1199 points. This was the second best result of the weekend just 5 points behind Awesomatix.

With the gap to the leading team now at 22 points, they need to perform on their absolute best level in Wiener Neustadt to keep their hopes for a title defence alive.

The points of Adam Izsay (ProStock|300), Gergö Valent (FWD|298), David Ehrbar (40+|303), and Pawel Trella (21.5|398) had been counted for Xray at t he end of ETS RD4 in Daun.

3 – MUGEN SEIKI (1194 pts.)

Trend: CONSTANT
No question: Mugen is the third strongest force at the ETS!

The Mugen Seiki team will take third place overall at the end of the season – if nothing super special will happen. The team around Ronald Völker and Sören Sparbier is constantly delivering good points at each and every event, and thes are not missing a lot to fight for the title at the very sharp end.

The team will be in an even better position for the new season and they will try harder than ever to win it! The Mugen Seiki team points for Daun got collected by Ronald Völker (Modified|303), Sören Sparbier (Pro Stock|297), Philipp Stadler (40+|300), and Radek Ruszkowski (21.5 Stock|294).

4 – ARC (1189 pts.)

Trend: CLEARLY UPWARDS
A11 earns best weekend of the season for ARC team!

The biggest surprise of the weekend was team ARC. They showed a stunning pace on track with their new A11 touring car and they also had two drivers in the top 5 of the FWD. This resulted in their seasons best points haul with a total of 1189. The team improved their position from P7 to P6. It will be interesting to see how the team around Henrik Heitschm Patrick Sommer, Enrico Jung, and Luca Romondia will continue from here onwards!

At the Sporthotel Grafenwald, the ARC points came from Enrico Jung (Pro Stock|293), Henrik Heitsch (FWD|299), Torsten Baggendorf (ARC|294), and Luca Romondia (21.5 Stock|.303)

5 – IRIS (1177 pts.)

Trend: MUCH IMPROVED
Iris moves up to P4 in the table after best points haul of the season

It was the best weekend of the season for the Iris team around Andreas Myrberg. They collected an impressive amount of 1177 points and managed to directly qualify a car for the Pro Stock a-main (Billy Fletscher). The good overall result was letting them climb up from P5 to P4 in the team rankings.

Iris was counting their 1177 points from the results of Billy Fletcher (Pro Stock|292), Dominik Reile (FWD|295), Manuel Stankowitz (40+|295), and Matheo Buchhalt (21.5 Stock|295).

6 – SCHUMACHER (890 pts.)

Trend: MIXED
Good points only in three classes. Schumacher misses too many A-Mains!

Schumacher scored points with Michal Orlowski (Modified|299), Jesper Rasmussen (Pro Stock|298), and Aurelien Threhout (21.5 Stock|293). They are always having some drivers on top, but not in all of our five classes counting for teh championship. There was no Schumacher driver in the FWD and 40+ Masters a-main which did cost them a lot of good points – and a betteroverall position. The team is still sitting in sixth position overall – maybe not enough for the team of our back-to back reigning Modified champion Michal Orlowski.

7 – RC MAKER (300 pts.)

Trend: UNCHANGED
Points coming from 21.5 Stock class only!

The RC Maker team was only able to score points in the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock class. David Reip (21.5 Stock|300) took a very good second place with his teammate Daniel Anthes, who finished right behind him in third place. However, since only the points of the best driver per class are counted and the team was not represented in any of the other A finals, the 300 points are not a very good overall result, causing them to drop from 7th to 8th place.

8 – SERPENT (298 pts.)

Trend: POSITIVE
Greiner scores first points of the season after strong drive to P4 in Daun

Serpent`s Dominic Greiner had a tough outdoor season and was not able to squeeze his Serpent car into the a-main. Griener is always super fast and for sure is one of the best drivers in the world. At the ETS in Daun, Greiner drove to a super-strong fourth place overall and was able to score the first 298 points of the season for Serpent. Hopefully his team will grow in the future as it is not easy to fight alone against the best in the business!

9 – YOKOMO (293 pts.)

Trend: TOUGH
No touring car A-Main, Hovgaard scored points in FWD!

Frederik Hovgaard was the only Yokomo driver earning points for the team with his FWD car. Hovgaard (FWD|293) finished ninth in the FWD class while all other Yokomo drivers missed to make an a-main. It is a difficult time for the team. Their car is for sure better as they can sho right now, but they will keep fighting to attract more and more racers to run Yokomo again. After the race in Daun, the Yokomo team is still sitting ninth in the overall constructors championship. They can maybe overtake Infinity in Wiener Neustadt as it looks like the Infininty team will skip the complete carpet season!

10 – INFINITY (0 pts.)

Trend: NONE
No Infinity car in an A-Main = no points in Daun!

No Infinity driver made it to the A final at the ETS in Daun. Bruno Coelho’s team is now fully focused on the TITC and the IFMAR World Championship, both of which are held on asphalt tracks. Their decision to ‘skip’ the carpet season was based on a lack of training with their new car on carpet and the fact that they have set themselves high goals for the TITC and the World Championship in China. On the one hand, this is completely understandable, but on the other hand, it also means zero points and 8th place in the overall standings. Let’s see how the team approaches the next ETS season!

5 things we learned from ETS RD4 Season #18 at Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun, GER

0

We have written it many times in the last days, but we need to write it again: The race in Daun was the BIGGETS EVER ETS race in the 18-year history of the series. With alomst 500 entries (489 in the end) , we (all together) have set a new benchmark for onroad RC racing in Europe, and also the rest of the world.

THANK YOU all for coming and supporting our events. We know that not everything might be perfect, but we can guarantee you that we will never stop to improve as we do this with passion and love for out great sport!

As during every weekend, there are many things to highlight and to talk about. We have once again picked FIVE.1 of them and here are the things we learned from ETS RD4 Season #18 at Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun, GER…

1) …RACE STARS are amazing!

Pawel Ntkovca and his awesomae crew worked so hard to provide the best possible ETS and EOS track!

We mentioned them last year, and in the year before as well…. And it is still not enough. We like to highlight the great work of the track crew from Poland under the leadership of Pawel Ntkovca. Together with his team they first built an outstanding offroad track for our EOS race, to just take everything back to zero for a fresh and flowy ETS carpet track.

The amount of work which goes into these masterpieces is unreal. From drawing the layouts weeks ahead, building up the tracks, and making them look amazing with some graftiti logos.

Both track layouts received nothing than compliments from the racers and the tracks had almost no issues during the fully packed super-long race days. Whenever something needed to be re-glued, one of the RACE STARS was immediately on hand to take care of it!

In the name of all EOS and ETS racers we like to say THANK YOU for all your hard work – you guys are legends!

1.1) …TOBI`S CANTEEN is amazing!

Serving food and drinks almost 16 hours a day

Another brilliant job was done by the canteen crew around ETS racer Tobias Baumbach. Together with Gerd, Jörg, and Lisa, they were working so hard day in, day out. The canteen was serving coffee, softdrinks, beer, as well as tasty snacks, toasties, Leberkäsweck, Soup, Schnitzelbrötchen, Chilli con Carne, and many other things for affordable prices all day long.

A very demanding challenge on the logistical and physical side. We know that Tobi and his team only had a few hours of sleep at night and we highly appreciate all they have done for our EOS and ETS events in Daun. THANK YOU so much!

2) …Elias Askjæ goes to the 24h race at the famous Nürburgring!

Super special ticket raffle for all young racers, presented by Awesomatix and Porsche Basel Racing Team

What started last year with a rough idea during the event (winner Jaroslav Jun. Kriz) was repeated at the 2026 ETS in Daun. The famous Porsche Basel Racing Team was raffeling off two tickets for the 24h race at the Nürburgring in cooperation with Awesomatix. The winner was young Danish Mugen driver Elias Askjær who will travel to the Nürburgring together with his father in May 2026.

Our ETS racers Philipp Hagnauer and Maximilian Peckel are part of the Porsche Basel Racing Team and will show the Askjær`s everyting in their pit, and around the event. WHAT A GREAT PRICE, and what a great chance to come as close as possible to the real motorsport. THANK YOU to everybody who was involved to make this happen – you guys rock!

3) …NEVER stop dreaming!

Kretschmer wins first ETS race after many attempts and a lot of hard work!

Awesomatix factory driver Louis Kretschmer was one of the happiest and most relieved drivers at the microphone on Sunday. Kretschmer was able to TQ the event, but had a terrible first final on Saturday evening where he hammered his Aweosmatix A800RR into the barries to hand over the A1 victory to Xray`s Adam Izsay. However, Kretschmer got his things together on Sunday and drove two perfect finals. He took the overall win Daun, and the crowd was cheering for him!

After the race, Kretschmer was super happy and talked about all his emotions in the interviews and press conferences. It was a long way for Louis Kretschmer when he came short to a possible race win multiple times. This time, everyting clicked and Kretschmer has now joined the official club of ETS race winners – CONGRATULATIONS LOUIS KRETSCHMER!

4) …Völker throws monkey off his shoulders and finally wins an ETS again

It was 25 November 2022 when Ronald Völker won the ETS carpet race in Hann. Münden, GER. Back then, nobody could imagine that it was his last win for the following 15 (!) races. Völker still is the record champion of the Euro Touring Series with EIGHT overall titles – nobody won more!

Since then (Hann. Münden 2022), things just haven’t gone smoothly for him at the ETS. The Mugen Seiki factory driver was always fast during Thursday practice, and also managed to TQ the 2023 event in Aigen, but the victory went to Michal Orlowski in most of the cases (with one additional win for Rheinard and Urbain) as the Schumacher star started his impressive winning streak at the same time!

Fast forward to 2026, Ronald Völker is in a very good form. Völker won all the last races which he attended (German Nationals, AOC Korea, EWS, TOS) and was able to carry all his confidence over to the big event in Daun. He was fastest in practice, grabbed the TQ in qualifying, and delivered two amazing runs in A1 and A2 to seal the deal in front of Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) and Michal Orlowski (Schumacher).

Völker`s LRP powered Mugen Seiki MTC-3 looked amazing on track and the crowd enjoyed to watch the battles between him and Rheinard in A1 and A2. A great way to start into a world championship year for Völker. The TITC in Bangkok is the next major event for all the top stars and Völker will arrive there on a high….

5) …ARC A11 steps on the scene with a huge BANG!

Luca Romondia wins 21.5 Stock class after 10-year break from RC

The new ARC A11 touring car was unveiled just days before the event in Daun. ARC lead driver Enrico Jung was involved into testing closley and was already having some good success with the prototype car during the unofficial worlds warm-up race in China. He also managed to make the A-Main in the highly competitive Pro Stock class where he would finish 9th overall – not a bad ETS debut for the A11. The much bigger story was going on in the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock class.

Luca Romondia, a German racer based in Berlin, was running the A11 for the first time at the ETS. Luca was a very quick driver in his teenager days, before he totally stopped RC racing. Now, he is back after a 10-year break and it looked like he “still has it”. Romondia was the surprise of the weekend as not many were having him on the radar. He was able to TQ qualifying and won A1 and A2 in a dominant way to celebrate his first ever ETS race victory. WHAT A DAY FOR HIM AND THE NEW ARC A11.

In addition to Romondia’s victory, Patrick Sommer and Torsten Baggendorf both drove the car in the A-Main of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class. Four cars in the A-Main speaks for itself. Patrick Sommer (ARC team manager) also won a bet against ETS reporter Patrick Beck. Sommer said that an ARC would win in Daun, and Beck bet against it. Due to Romondia’s victory, Patrick Beck now owes the ARC team a crate of cold beer!

Four championships of ETS Season #18 have been decided!

0

After the ETS in Daun, we can already report about four title decisions. We did not mentioned it in our final race reports after the race as we wanted to double check all the points and results to not spread out any kind of fake news :-).

But after carefully checkig all scenarios, we can tell you now that we will only see battles for the title of the Cayote Modified and Hobbywing 21.5 Stock classes at the season finale in Wiener Neustadt!

Bultynck reclaims Pro Stock title from teammate Ellerbrock!

Awesomatix factory driver Olivier Bultynck already sealed the deal after four of five ETS rounds. Bultynck had an outstanding asphalt season where he won all three races from the TQ spot (!) with his Team EAM powered Awesomatix A800RR.

After losing the title (which he had won for the first time at the end of Season #15) to his teammate Lukas Ellerbrock in Season #16, Bultynck was the strongest Pro Stock racer in the current campaign and backed off his strong asphalt results with a solid third place after a tough weekend in Daun.

With 1208 points collected, nobody else can beat Bultyncks points score at the last race at Arena Nova in Austria. The whole ETS crew likes to congratulate Olivier Bultynck and his whole team for winning the prestigeous Pro Stock title again.

Our Season #17 Pro Stock champion Olivier Bultynck will receive his well-deserved trophy at the season finale in Wiener Neustadt in March!

Absolutely deserved: Langner secures FWD title with one race to go!

German talent Phil Langner has secured his first ETS championship title due to a stellar performance in Daun. His season went very well so far and after a fifth place in Apeldoorn, Phil could finish second in Aigen and third in Luxembourg. He has scored 1199 points until now and none of his competitors can beat this mark in the last race of the season.

Langner, whose main touring car chassis sponsor Mugen Seiki is not having an FWD car, used an Awesomatix A800FXR to win the race from pole position. Phil was simply driving amazing all weekend long and the finals looked like an easy walk in the pak for him. What a great way to win a championship.

Congratulations to Phil Langner and his family who is always supporting him in a great way!

Simply strong: Ehrbar successfully defends both titles from last season!

Defending any title is never easy… But what about TWO? Xray`s David Ehrbar was able to do exactly that when he secured his Matrix Formula and 1up Racing 40+Masters title last weekend in Daun.

Ehrbar was unstoppable this season and scored already 1209 points in Formula, and 1208 in Masters whichnobody can beat anymore – what a statement from Ehrbar.

Out of the 8 race starts he had this season (F1 and 40+ combined), Ehrbar was able to win SIX while scoring another second and third place. He never missed the podium which clearly shows how good he is in his classes.

Congratulations to David and Xray for winning these two big ETS titles once again!

Undecided: Modified and 21.5 Stock

The season finale in Wiener Neustadt is fully booked (400 entries) and we expect another great ETS season finale with great racing, the drivers dinner, our huge raffle, and our big trophy ceremony in which all champions and top 10 finishers will receive their obverall trophies for the season.

The Cayote Modified class and the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock are both undecided and here is a quick update about the situation.

Rheinard, Orlowski, and Völker to race for ETS Modified title at Arena Nova

Michal Orkiwski (Schumacher) is still three points ahead in the championchip standings (1202), but Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) is still in contention to win his second ETS title after 2009/10 (!). However, to make this happen, Rheinard needs to TQ and win the event (303 points) with Orlowski not finishing better than fifth.

This scenario would move Rheinard to a total of 1203 points and Orlowski would come short by one point counting 1202. A TQ and win is the ONLY chance for Rheinard to snatch the title away from Orlowski in the last minute.

If Marc can TQ and win and Orlowski will finish fourth, both would have 1203 points. In this case, Orlowski would be our champion due to more race wins (2) during the season. If Orlowski would like to have an eays life, he just needs to finish ahead of Rheinard in Wiener Neustadt – no matter on which positions.

Mugen Seiki‘s Ronald Völker is also having a last chance in Wiener Neustadt. If he can manage a TQ and win while Orlowski will only finish fifth, the title will go into Völker‘s bag. With his win in Daun, Völker somehow stepped back into the fight for the ETS crown. We can‘t ask for a more thrilling season finale – can‘t we?

Reip leads 21.5 Stock class by six points from Jensen

RC Maker driver David Reip took a strong second place away from Daun, and also the championship lead. He is now counting 1192 points and has a valuable gap of 6 points over second placed Xray driver Kristian Jensen who lost some ground with a disappointing P10 finish in Daun.

To win the title, Jensen needs a TQ and win at Arena nova – and the titlt would be his – no matter where Reip would finish. Not an easy task for Jensen, but he has won ETS races in the past and has the potential to do it.

If somebody else will win the season finale, Jensen needs a second place with Reip only finishng in fifth place. If Jensen only finishes third, he needs to hope that Reip will not be better than sixth.

Out of David Reip`s perspective, he just needs to make sure to finish ahead of Jensen, or maximum two places behind him. That sounds like a thriller – doesn`t it?

Rheinard wins A3 and secures second overall for Awesomatix

0

Rheinard and Orlowski joining Völker on Modified podium at Sporthotel Grafenwald

Awesomatix lead driver Marc Rheinard won the last Cayote Modified A-Main to secure second overall on the podium ahead of Schumacher`s Michal Orlowski. Rheinard drove a perfect race and had a gap of 2.6 seconds over Orlowski at the end of the run. Dominic Greiner secured his fourth place overall with a P3 in A3 ahead of Mugen`s Sparbier and the Xray of Alexander Hagberg. The Cayote Modified class was delivering great sport all weekend long and the spectators in the hall and on our RC Racing TV livestream loved the show a lot.

He has done it! Kretschmer celebrates first ETS win…

Awesomatix racer Louis Kretschmer was the man of the weekend in the Awesomatix Pro Stock class. After having sealed the TQ spot in qualifying, a bad first final on Saturday evening was creating a lot of pressure on Kretschmer who needed to deliver two wins in A2 and A3 on Sunday. And that was exactly what he did.

Kretschmer won his third and deciding final against Adam Izsay and was screaming out loud when he crossed the finish line. Kretschmer was celebrating his first ever ETS win with his team when he came down the driver stand, and we all love to see things like that happen in RC racing.

Xray`s Adam Izsay had to settle for second overall – which is still a very good result in a field of world class stock drivers. Championship leader Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) took third place on the podium and is already our “unofficial” Pro Stock champion of ETS Season #18 2025/26. Congratulations to Oli and the team for a fantastic season so far. Team manager Max Mächler will have a great Sunday evening after all these great results from his crew!

Schumacher`s new signing Jesper Rasmussen brought a strong weekend with a good pace to an end when he took P4 ahead of Mugen Seiki`s Sören Sparbier in fifth place.

Schmid wins A3 ahead of Heitsch as both join race winner Langner on the podium!

After winning the first two finals, Phil Langner could lean back to watch the last FWD A-Main from the side-line. Gergö Valent, Kevin Schmid, and Henrik Heitsch all had good chances to make it onto the podium and the race between them was intense. Valent made a very costly mistake in lap 5 of the race allowing Kevin Schmid, Henrik Heitsch, and Luca Romondia passing by.

Schmid never looked back afterwards and drove to the win securing second overall on the podium. With his second place in A3, Henrik Heitsch took the last spot on the podium beside race winner Phil Langner, and Kevin Schmid.

Stadler wins thrilling third A-Main to finish second overall

Philipp Stadler (Mugen Seiki) took the win in A3 of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class after a very close race against Caspar Morgen (Xray) from Denmark. Morgen finished 0.8 seconds behind Stadler and was followed by Michel Zierold, Mirco Thalheimer, and Toni Mateo. The overall top three of the weekend in our 40+ Masters class are David Ehrbar, Philipp Stadler, and Caspar Morgen. Congratulations guys!

RC Maker`s Reip wins last A-Main

Luca Romondia was not racing A3 anymore after he had already won the event in the first two A-main finals. Daniel Anthes started from P1 on the grid but could not manage to stay in front. His teammate David Reip did a better job and was able to bring home the win in A3 ahead of Xray`s Pawel Trella, Matheo Buchhalt, Christian Lütjen, and Radek Ruszkowski. Race winner Luca Romondia (ARC) was sharing the winner`s podium with the two RC Maker drivers David Reip (2), and Daniel Anthes (3).

Ehrbar doubles in Daun as he wins Formula and 40+ Masters class

Top qualifier David Ehrbar was under pressure ahead of A3 after coming short to Stiebler in the second of the triple finals. Ehrbar was putting his head down right after the start and drove a clean and perfect race ahead of Martin Hudy and Andreas Stiebler. But after Stiebler crashed his Schumacher car in the early stages of the race, Ehrbar could enjoy the rest of the race where he managed the gap to Hudy and Rajki until he crossed the finish line. Another well-deserved but also hard-fought overall Formula victory for Ehrbar. Andreas Stiebler finished second overall ahead of Martin Hudy in third place!

Mission completed – Völker wins biggest ever ETS

0

Völker and Rheinard in a world of their own

The second Cayote Modified A-Main was another thrilling showdown between TQ and A1 winner Ronald Völker (Mugen), and Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix). Record ETS champion Völker had a clean start and was leading the race from five-time IFMAR world champion Rheinard. Both quickly opened a small gap over the rest of the field and could focus on their own race on top.

Behind the leaders, Serpent driver Dominic Greiner was making a move on Schumacher`s Orlowski who was struggling a bit in the infield chicane during lap one. Greiner placed his car right beside Orlowski and they were going through the next turns side by side. Unluckily, the contact got heavy enough to spin Orlowski around causing him to lose some positions.

Greiner dropped back some positions as well and the referee called him also to give a spot back to Orlowski. Asked about the incident after the race, Greiner said that he “just saw Michal struggling and tried to go by. Yes, there was a contact but for me it was pure racing”.

Alexander Hagberg took the biggest advantage of the Greiner/Orlowski incident and moved up all the way to third place in front of Simon Lauter and Sören Sparbier. The midfield pack was racing very close to each other and we saw some great battles for all these positions.

Meanwhile, Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker was still leading the race with his LRP powered MTC-3. The crowd could see that Rheinard was squeezing absolutely everything out of his Cayote powered Awesomatix A800RR as he was sliding a bit here and there. In some laps Rheinard came closer, in others he lost some ground again. In the penultimate lap of the race, Völker could finally take a deep breathe when Rheinard was hitting the board before the chicane in the left section of the track. Rheinard lost 4.5 seconds to Völker who could take the last lap easy to seal the overall race victory in Daun.

A great day for Mugen Seiki and Völker who celebrated his last ETS race win in Hann. Münden at the end of 2022 (!) before Michal Orlowski started his impressive winning streak. It was also the first win for the MTC-3 in the ETS modified class and is for sure a great confidence boost for Völker after losing Robert Pietsch (car designer) to Infinity at the beginning of 2026.

The finishing order in A2: Völker, Rheinard, Hagberg, Lauter, Sparbier, Orlowski, Griener, Gollner, Urbain, Prümper, Iivonen

Kretschmer recovers from bad A1 and wins the second leg ahead of Izsay and Bultynck

Long story short: The first final was a hard one to swallow for TQ Louis Kretschmer. But the Awesomatix driver showed great nerves and race craft when he took an impressive win away from A2 on Sunday at lunch time. Kretschmer drove the perfect race and left no chances for Adam Izsay to create the same amount of pressure as in A1 on Saturday.

Izsay was fully on the limit and crashed his car in the last lap – but he was able to bring home P2 ahead of Olivier Bultynck, Jesper Rasmussen, and Sören Sparbier. The decision for the overall Pro Stock win here in Daun went down to the line in the last final with all eyes on Kretschmer and Izsay.

In a class of his own – Langner wins big at ETS Daun

It was a pure demonstration of great FWD driving in A2 when German youngster Phil Langner was kind of “destroying” his opponents with a clinic drive and a huge gap of 6 seconds (!) over the rest of the field. Nobody was able to match the pace of Langner`s Awesomatix car and Phil took a well-deserved second ETS career win under the immense applause of the huge crowd in Daun.

Behind Langner, it was Henrik Heitsch who moved up to second place ahead of his ARC teammate Luca Romondia after Gergö Valent had a crash with Kevin Schmid who had made a clean pass on him before. The finishing order in A2 was Langner, Heitsch, Romondia, Schmid, Kirchhefer, Valent, Bartsch, Reile, Hovgaard, Buchhalt, and bump-up driver Borschel.

Ehrbar adds one more Masters class win to a long list!

Since almost three years, David Ehrbar is the dominant driver of our 1up Racing 40+ Masters class at the Euro Touring Series. He once again showed that a race victory in this class always needs to go over his pit table. Ehrbar never looked back after the sound of the tone and won the second leg of A-finals ahead of a string driving Philipp Stadler, Caspar Morgen, Toni Mateo, and Manuel Stankowitz.

Dreams come true – Romondia joins club of ETS race winners

Luca Romondia raced RC cars in his teenage years and made a 10-year break before he came back to the hobby in 2025. He was fast back in the day – and he still is. Romondia used the new ARC A11 touring car to win the Hobbywing 21.5 Stock class after two brilliant first finals and was celebrating this great result together with his team and his father who once brought him into the sport – what a great story!

Behind the race winner we (once again) saw the two RC Maker drivers David Reip (2) and Daniel Anthes (3) taking the positions ahead of Christian Lütjen and Wolfgang Swoboda. The whole ETS crew likes to congratulate Luca Romondia for his well-deserved maiden ETS win!

Stiebler wins A2 to battle out overall victory in A3 against Ehrbar

David Ehrbar was the early leader in Formula A2, and Andreas Stiebler quickly found his way past Martin Hudy to hunt Ehrbar down again. Stiebler made a lot of pressure and once Ehrbar went a bit wide in the sweeper after the straight, Stiebler took the chance and took the lead away from Ehrbar.

In the next minutes, Ehrbar and Hudy were both hunting Stiebler around the track, but the Austrian Schumacher driver was able to bring home the win in the second final. Balint Rajki and Jacques Libar completed the top five. The last A-Main will be the decider for the win and we hope for another great show of racing!

Völker holds off Rheinard to win A1 in Daun

Masterclass of RC racing in A1 when Völker drove to the win ahead of Rheinard and Orlowski

On the famous “sound of the tone”, top qualifier Ronald Völker was immediately in control of the race when he was bringing the field around the first laps on the challenging ETS carpet track. Völker posted the fastest lap of A1 directly in lap 2 with a 13.632 and built a small gap over the Awesomatix of Rheinard and the Schumacher car of reigning ETS champion Orlowski. After two minutes, Rheinard could drive away from Orlowski and started to close the gap to Völker`s LRP powered Mugen MTC-3 in front of him.

Rheinard chipped of some hundreds of a second every lap and was able to reduce the gap to Völker down to half a second when they entered the last two laps of the race. Rheinard was pushing super-hard but Völker was able to hang on and took the win in A1 by a margin of 0.346 seconds under the applause of the audience around the track.

Schumacher`s Michal Orlowski drove in third place for the entire race and defended it against the Serpent of Dominik Greiner who was right behind him when they crossed the finish line.

Alexander Hagberg (Xray) finished fifth ahead of Sören Sparbier (Mugen), Simon Lauter (Awesomatix), Patrick Gollner (Mugen), Yannic Prümper (Schumacher), Pekko Iivonen (Schumacher), and Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix).

It was a great first Modified A-Main and we are already excited for A2 which is scheduled to happen at around 10:50 on Sunday morning – don`t miss the show on RC Racing TV.

Izsay wins eventful first Pro Stock A-Main after Kretschmer crashes hard!

The first Awesomatix Pro Stock A-Main was very entertaining – but not for TQ Louis Kretschmer. The Awesomatix driver had a great start, but the Xray of Adam Izsay never disappeared from his rear-view mirror. Adam was creating a lot of pressure on Kretschmer who was defending like a lion with perfect lines which did not allow Izsay to go by.

Lap 15 was a complete change of events when Kretschmer was making a mistake leading him to hit a track barrier in the left side section of the track after the fast right turn. Kretchmer’s A800RR rolled over and he was lucky that the car somehow survived the crash. However, Kretschmer dropped back and finished in 7th place only.

Adam Izsay took full advantage of the Kretschmer crash and jumped into the lead, followed by Olivier Bultynck. The Awesomatix driver from Belgium was now in the hunt and managed to close in on Izsay in the last minute of the race. But Bultynck got caught on the line while Izsay made the extra lap to win A1 after showing a great performance. Bultynck finished in second place ahead of Rasmussen, Sparbier, Ratheisky, and Kriz.

Langner dominates FWD A1 from pole position

Phil Langner drove a perfect race with his Awesomatix A800FXR and took the win in the opening A-Main of the FlySky FWD class. Xray driver Gergö Valent was able to stay close to Langner in the first lap before Langner started to stretch his legs. The German youngster checked out from the rest of the field and was able to build a gap of four (!) seconds until he crossed the finish line. Gergö Valent finished in second place after an amazing battle with Awesomatix racer Kevin Schmid while the two ARC drivers Henrik Heitsch and Luca Romondia took P4 and P5 away from the first FWD final.

Ehrbar converts pole into A1 victory

David Ehrbar did what he is good at – he won the first A-Main of the 40+ Masters class with his Xray X4`26 from tone to tone and left no doubt that he still is the man to beat in this hard-fought class. Mugen Seiki driver Philipp Stadler had a great run as well and was able to defend his second starting position until the end against Caspar Morgen, Toni Mateo, and Michel Zierold.

Halfway there as Romondia takes first final from Anthes

It was easy to see that Luca Romondia was a bit nervous when he started from a pole position at the ETS for the very first time. Romondia touched many curbs in the first two laps but managed to keep his tires to the carpet. Daniel Anthes saw some daylight and was following the ARC A11 in front of him with his RC Maler SP1 car. But after some laps, Romondia found his rhythm and drove away from his competitors. Romondia made no further mistakes and won the first final with a gap of 2.1 seconds over the RC Maker duo Daniel Anthes and David Reip. Pawel Trella finished on a string fourth place in front of Mugen driver Radek Ruszkowski.

Xray`s David Ehrbar wins Formula A1

In a final with 10 Xray cars, it was all about Schumacher driver Andreas Stiebler to be the hardest competitor of TQ David Ehrbar. Ehrbar was leading the race from start to the finish, but he needed to push his car to the absolute limit. After Stiebler found his way around Martin Hudy (who started on P2), he started to hunt Ehrbar down lap after lap. Stiebler`s car was flying but he ran out of time and Ehrbar could hang on for the win in a very fast and nice first Formula A-Main!

Under the Hood – Roman Borschel`s Awesomatix A800FXR

Awesomatix driver Roman Borschel is rocking his A800FXR this weekend in Daun. The power comes from his Team EAM 4600mAh battery and a little bottle of NOS in the front section of the car (joking). Roman is using a Power HD S15 servo together with the ETS Hobbywing combo and his Sanwa M17 radio.

Mugen`s Völker is top qualifier in Daun

Can Völker convert hard-fought pole into victory against Rheinard and Orlowski?

The last round of Cayote Modified qualifying saw Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker securing pole position for the triple finals. Völker`s LRP powered MTC-3 started out of the gate on a fresh set of tires and allowed him to open a gap of 1.7 over the Mi9 of Schumacher`s Orlowski during the five-minute run.

Marc Rheinard took third place from Q4 while Dominic Greiner and Alexander Hagberg were completing the topfive. Völker’s strategy originally was to save one of the two tire sets for the finals, but he needed them to seal the TQ in Q4 which means that the top 3 will start on equal used tires into the mains.

Rheinard (2) and Orlowski (3) will for sure try to set Völker under some serious pressure to lead him into a mistake. Serpent ace Greiner still has a set of new tires left for the triple finals which could help him as well to stay close to the frontrunners.

Bultynck moves to P3 on the grid thanks to Q4 victory – Kretschmer claims pole position

After not having the strongest pace on Friday, championship leader Olivier Bultynck was finally able to win round four of qualifying with his Awesomatix A800RR. He took the last heat of the weekend with seven tenths of a second from Jesper Rasmussen (Schumacher), and Mugen Seiki`s Sören Sparbier. The overall qualifying results are showing Louis Kretschmer claiming his first ever TQ at the ETS.

Adam Izsay will start second and Ollie Bultynck third. Jesper Rasmussen posted three very strong second places during qualifying but will “only” line-up in P4 of the grid – tied on points with Bultynck!

Business as usual: Ehrbar takes pole ahead of strong competition!

He seems to almost have a contract with the 40+ Masters pole position – Xray driver David Ehrbar grabbed another important TQ at the Euro Touring Series. He won Q4 and will start ahead of Mugen Seiki driver Philipp Stadler from Austria, and his Xray teammate Caspar Morgen from Denmark. Under the Hood – Sören Sparbier`s Mugen Seiki MTC-3

Mugen Seiki factory driver Sören Sparbier has great memories about Daun. He was able to win his first ever ETS at the same venue in 2025 which was his greatest success at the ETS. After that, he managed to win another race (ETS Vienna) and made multiple modified A-Mains too. Sören is rocking his MTC-3 which is built on a steel chassis from WeiRC. Sören is also using some Mugen option parts such as the bypass shock bodies in the front, as well as KPA steering arms.

His car is energized by a 5100mAh LRP LiPo battery to keep the centre of gravity as los as possible. The ETS Pro Stock combo is installed in his car together with a S15 servo from Power HD which is controlled by a Sanwa M17 radio.
