XRAY X4`26

0

Slovakian manufacturer XRAY has released their new X4`26 tournig car during the last week. The company, who won the last three IFMAR modified touring car world championships in a row, has created a car with 70% of the parts being designed completeley new.

There will be three car kits available once they hit the stores with the only differences being the chassis plate. Customers can choose between carbon, 2.0mm aluminum and 1.5mm aluminum depending on the demands of their racing programe – a great service from XRAY.

Features of the Xray X4`26

  • 3 kit versions improve factory performance for a wider range of track conditions
  • 30g total weight saving without sacrificing durability, very beneficial for specification races that require larger batteries
  • All-new CFF2 lower control arms with integrated composite details maximise suspension stiffness and improve handling in all conditions.
  • The new suspension geometry moves the shock absorbers further out to improve traction and steering behaviour in all conditions.
  • The improved, extremely low and consistent stabiliser mounting system improves stabiliser function and makes adjustment easier.
  • Smaller and flatter suspension balls save weight and offer better roll centre adjustability.
  • Completely new aluminium bulkheads complement the new suspension parts. A universal design at all four corners utilises an interchangeable bulkhead for left-right and front-rear, reducing the number of spares and simplifying repairs.
  • The lower bolt holes on the front and rear bulkheads are countersunk to allow the use of standard fasteners for each chassis variant, improving durability while reducing costs.
  • All-new CFF upper control arms with reduced flex due to their optimised shape contribute to the new suspension’s more consistent handling.
  • The link-style upper arms offer improved steering response with added adjustability compared to the fixed moulded arms, ensuring maximum adjustability from the factory.
  • The all-new carbon fibre upper clamps reduce overall weight, which is particularly important due to their position as they lower the centre of gravity while maintaining optimum chassis flex.
  • Multiple mounting options for the upper clamps for different flex and handling characteristics.
  • Ultra-long link upper arms are easier to realise thanks to the new upper clamp design and offer an additional alternative to the standard upper arm length.
  • The all-new narrow chassis accommodates the new suspension and bulkhead designs, including short and standard arms, as well as the new shock mount locations.
  • The all-new front bulkhead brace controls flex and handling characteristics and reduces the need for different types of front top decks, lowering costs and simplifying setup.
  • All-new, ultra-light, narrower front spool is made of aluminium for light weight and clean design.
  • All-new narrow, ultra-reliable and lightweight rear differential with pin system for outdrives.
  • The all-new upper decks optimise flexibility together with the new bulkheads, front strut and upper clamps.
  • The all-new integrated suspension bump stops limit the suspension travel independently of the shock absorbers, allowing easy fine tuning of the vehicle’s front and rear suspension travel.
  • Smaller diff and spool bearings and eccentric bearing mounts reduce weight and lower the centre of gravity.
  • Completely new steering and carbon fibre ARS plates optimise geometry and flexibility and reduce unsprung weight.

Völker wins AOC in Korea

0

Race Report from the AOC Facebook page!

Ronald Völker capped a dominant qualifying performance with two straight wins, stamping his authority on the 2025 Asian Onroad Championship here at GRC.

Beyond Völker, A1 was chaotic, a lap one spin from Jin Heon Yoo burying him in the field and opening an opportunity for Alexander Hagberg and Akio Sobue. We’ll need to watch the video back to unpick all that went on from there (and we’ll get that video out as fast as we can), but the upshot of all of it was Hagberg second, a brilliant drive from Marc Rheinard from 9th on the grid to third, then Sobue and Keven Hebert picking his way through to fifth. A huge last-lap tangle between Jacob Cruz and Ji Heon Yoo in the flat-out front chicane left both cars heavily damaged.

A2 was, on paper at least, a little less chaotic. Except that it started raining again right as drivers prepared for their warmup lap, the misty rain fortunately light enough to not impact track conditions. As Völker ran away out front, a battle brewed between Jin Heon Yoo, Alexander Hagberg, and Akio Sobue. Eventually, Sobue and Yoo tangled, dropping the local driver down the order, Sobue hanging on for P2, and Marc Rheinard once again driving through the field to P3.

That left Völker an unchallenged winner over Hagberg, Sobue, Rheinard, and an impressive Hayato Ishioka.

17.5 BOOSTED: LAM DOMINANT

No surprise here either, Singapore’s Zaccheus Lam too strong in what was a powerful performance for the RC Maker pilot. The top qualifier drove to a big A1 win over Jihoon Jeon (who made big ground late) and Yeonwoo Kim, then repeated the process in A2, untroubled ahead of Kim and Taejung Park. That’s three big wins for Lam in 2025 (here, SIGP and GDC), making this something of a breakout year for the 18-year-old. He’s joined on the overall podium by Yeonwoo Kim and Jihoon Jeon after a tie-break split the pair.

MINI: CHOI THE MINI-MASTER

Yong Wan Choi continued on from his dominant qualifying performance in Mini, easing away to a five-second win over Max Park and Dy Jung in A1, and then repeating that over Max Park and Sang Bim Yim in A2. Dy Jung did enough to get to the podium behind Choi and Park.

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE: CHOI DOUBLES UP

Having been fastest all day, Yong Wan Choi put himself under pressure with a late race mistake in A1 handing the win to an ever-present Kyung Taek Kim, Chang Gyu Na a good third. In A2, Choi made no such mistake, ensuring he’d win the overall with the fastest time of the two finals, ahead of Kyung Taek Kim and Chang Gyu Na.

SUPER GT: WONIK CHOI FROM P3!

Continuing the mixed-up results in Super GT, third-placed starter Wonik Choi got around pole-sitter Sang Bin Yim in A1, Jun Sik Lee in third. In A2, Sang Bin Yim spent the bulk of the race out front, the fight for the overall entirely down to whether he could outpace Choi’s A1 time. The margin at the line just one second, Wonik Choi’s A1 time holding up, Sang Bin Yim second overall, and Gilwoong Park rounding out the podium.

EWS 2025/26 Season kicks off with wins for Branson, Finlay, and Blake

0

The 2025/26 Essex Winter Season got underway with the first round, presented by RC Maker, taking place this weekend.

LRP Modified

With the LRP Modified defending champion Olly Jefferies missing this round, there was an opportunity for his competitors to get a head-start.  It was Tonisport-backed driver Kyle Branson who secured the TQ with his Awesomatix, ahead of Mugen’s Alex Thurston with the rest of the top five made of the Schumacher trio of Elliott Harper, Peter Eagles and Matthieu Dambrine.

Kyle continued to remain in control for the Final, taking a lights-to-flag win to secure the maximum points at the season opener. Alex and Elliott finished second and third, reflecting the qualifying positions, Peter holding on to fourth place as Stefan Chodzynski moved up to fifth at the finish.

Rush Stock

In the Rush Stock class, Zak Finlay picked up where he finished last season, the series champion winning all qualifying rounds. Andy Murray secured second on the grid ahead of Adam Southgate, Finley Whitelock and Sam Nicholls. The final saw Zak run away with the win, Andy having a rather lonely drive to second place, and Adam run in third for the majority of the race until an incident with a back marker forced him out, promoting Finley into a podium place.

ToniSport FWD

In ToniSport Front Wheel Drive, Dan Blake took TQ after a nice fight in qualifying with Michael Chapman. Nathan Parker was best-of-the-rest and would line up third, ahead of Jon Seals and Mark Young.  The top three from qualifying held their positions through the final to make the podium places, whilst Sid Lawrence raced up to fourth and Mark Burgess took a well-deserved fifth place in the final.

The series continues with Round 2 in November – join us then!

New ETS Indoor Tire Additive

0

Dear ETS Family,

with the start of the indoor season, we introduce our new carpet tire additive for the Euro Touring Series. The new “MR33 V5 Carpet Tire Additive” will be in use at our indoor races from now on and replaces the well-nown MR33 V4.

New formula for better traction levels throughout 4-day events

The reason for a change is easy to explain. As we recently had massive entries at our carpet events, our black ETS carpet got soaked full of MR33 V4 quickly, and the track was hard to drive on, especially in the last two days of the event. Most racers reported from “unlikeley” changing conditions, slower lap-times, and a scary level of traction which was not great for racing.

Together with the supplier of the new MR33 V5 additive, we worked on a better formula to create an additive that will behave different during the duration of a 4-day ETS event. Even if it was not possible to test it with 400 racers at one weekend so far, the testing we did was very promising and we expect to have an additive which is better now for the demands of the ETS.

The MR33 V5 is already added to the RULES on our website and you can already order it at ToniSport! The “old” MR33 V4 additive will still be available and can be used with good success at smaller races as well!

Season #19 – Outdoor Races Scheduled!

0

With the current eighteenth season of the Euro Touring Series still in full swing, we have worked behind the scenes to fix the first three race dates of Season #19 2026/27 as early as possible. We are now happy to share these dates and venues with you. It is always our goal to give everybody the chance to plan ahead as we all know how difficult it is to arrange all these trips, vacations, etc.

Rotation adds different tracks to the calendar

As you can see on the calendar for Season #19, we have rotatet two tracks out (Aigen and Luxembourg), and replaced them with the fantastic Hudy Arena, and Andernach. We like to follow a rotating system from now on and will exchange the outdoor tracks more frequently than we did in the last 3-4 years.

It is important to keep the series interesting, and we are sure that the selection of tracks for next year is amazing. All the amazing tracks like Aigen and Luxembourg will come back to the calendar for sure….

HUDY Arena and Andernach back on the calendar

We are super happy to announce that we will return to the world famous Hudy Arena in July, and to the fully refurbished track of Arena33 (Andernach) in September. Both places are amazing and we hope that you will like the selection we have made.

We have not been in the Hudy Arena for an ETS since 2019, and the time has finally come to return to the home of the Hudy Family and their fabolous Xray brand. We are extremeley happy that the Hudy family will welcome us at their fantastic place, which is a MUST GO for all RC racers!

New tracks welcome

As we mentiones many times int he past: If you are a club that has all we need for a proper ETS event with 300 and more entries, you are always welcome to contact us. Then we can discuss and check if an ETS event will be possible in your area or not!

It requires things like a well maintained track, a good infrastructure with Hotels and Restaurants close to it, a motivated crew from the club, a covered pit area and additional space for tents, and kind of a canteen or snackbar trackside. The ETS crew is always open to talk to you!
