Mugen Seiki Europe has released two different aluminum eccenters for the MTC-2 and MTC-2R touring car. They are super light, and stronger than the plastic ones from the kit. They are available in a “standard” and in a “low” version which allows you to run Diff and Spool 1mm lower in the car. A ,ust have for every Mugen Seiki MTC-2 or MTC-2R racer.

ETS RD2 in Austria is history! It was an amazing weekend of RC car action and we saw many many happy people saying goodbye to us after the trophy ceremony. Thank you all for coming and enjoying a great time with us in Aigen-Schlägl.

After ETS RD1, we hailed the AMC Apeldoorn for hosting a fantastic event. Now we MUST do the same for the MAV Aigen-Schlägl! ETS RD2 was another fantastic event and the club did an outstanding job. Last year`s race in Aigen was organized perfectly, and the club has not rested on this. Drivers shouted out huge compliments for the technical inspection, the cafeteria, the nice meals at lunchtime, and of course for the amazing racetrack. The atmosphere was brilliant all day long and that was the merit of the MAV Aigen-Schlägl under the leadership of Martin Mayrhofer. THANK YOU for hosting us!
Last season, five of the six races in the Matrix Modified class saw the TQ taking the win from the best place on the grid. The only driver winning from second on the grid was Yannic Prümper in Apeldoorn. This means, that the TQ has therefore won the race 83% of the time.
After 2 races of the current season this win rate has now crashed down to zero percent.
Marc Rheinard was top qualifier at RD1 in the Netherlands with his Awesomatix car, and was only able to finish in P7 after the triple A-Mains while Michal Orlowski took the win from second on the grid. Rheinard had some tough luck and was very frustrated after the race as the win was so close. In Aigen-Schlägl, Rheinard was able to recover from the bad Apeldoorn result and took an impressive win. But how was it possible?
Well, TQ Ronald Völker suffered from an almost similar portion of bad luck in Austria. Völker was able to put his Mugen car on TQ after looking very strong in qualifying, but in the triple A-Mains the racing luck disappeared from Völker`s hands. He had a bad start in A1 where his teammate Dankel culd pass him after the sund of the tone, and ended only fourth in A1. In the second and third final, he suffered from spinning once, and flying off the track in the last final – P8 for Völker in the end. A nightmare for the Mugen Seiki team and the record ETS champion Völker.
Two races, two times no winner from the TQ spot. The next race at Arena33 in Andernach will show whether this is just a snapshot, or if the TQ has been put under an evil curse.
Xray was a dominant force in the history of the Euro Touring Series with winning many races and championship titles in the past. Marek Cerny, Jan Ratheisky, Alexandre Duchet, Bruno Coelho – all these names are connected with winning ETS titles.
Would you have known that Xray has not won a race in Pro Stock since 11 races? We also had been surprised about this as we checked the results. The last eleven Pro Stock races all had been in the hands of Team Awesomatix around Max Mächler, Simon Lauter, and Olivier Bultynck.
This past weekend in Aigen, Xray driver Adam Izsay from Hungary was able to turn the tables and finally won the Pro Stock class for Xray after Alexandre Duchet did it the last time 2021 at Arena 33 in Andernach. Adam Izsay was on a mission all weekend long and took a well deserved TQ. He made a big mistake in A1 but got his nerves togehter and won A2 and A3 to seasl the deal for himself and the slovakian manufacturer Xray. Congratulations to Adam for a great drive. Let`s see if he will be able to challenge Aweosmatix for the win now frequently.
Phil Langner was the “driver of the weekend” through the eyes of our ETS reporter. He did a great job and took his Awesomatix car to second place overall in the Orca 21.5 Stock class. Phil drove great lines, had a lot of patience and overview, took one round of qualifying, and won the first A-Main. Not bad for such a young man against so many experienced racers including former ETS champion Daniel Pöhlmann. Beside his great touring car result, Phil raced in Hobbywing Frontwheel as well and finished 15th out of 41 drivers. Another great result.
The cherry on top of the cake was certainly that he also had his birthday on Sunday and was able to enjoy it with the ETS family. His father Mark was watching his son racing, always being nervous and so proud. Keep up the good work guys – see you hopefully in Andernach for ETS RD3.
To design a new and quick car is not an easy task at the top end of the RC racing industry. Last weekend, we saw two relativeley new cars making it onto the ETS podium for the first time. In the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class, Manuel Stankowitz took a great third place with his Iris ONE touring car. Manuel won the 40+ masters ETS title last season, before he switched teams ahead of the new campaing as he just wanted to “experience something new”. The whole Iris team around designer Andreas Myrberg worked really hard and the first podium is a result of their dedication to racing. Congratulations for the great result!
Another driver placing a car onto the podium for the first time was Schumacher`s Andy Murray. The 2020 1:12 scale Spec IFMAR World Champion raced the new Schumacher FT8 FWD car and took a hard fought third place in thr Hobbywing Frontwheel class. It was a huge improvement for him and the car as he “only” managed to finish on P10 at the season opener in the Netherlands. Congratulations to Andy and Schumacher for the podium in Austria!
T-Works has released a new Motor Mount Weight Set for the actuel Yokomo BD12 touring car. The set includes a 25g weight and another 5g weight which drivers can use to balance out their BD12 perfectly. The 25g weight replaces the carbon fibre brace from the kit and is a perfect fit especially when using lighter batteries in the Modified class.

A2 – Völker, Dankel, and Rheinard all got off the line perfectly and Völker was leading until his Mugen car spun out in lap two in the sweeper at the end of the straightway. He dropped all the way back to the end of the field and had to stop his car after lap 4 – a nightmare for our top qualifier. Meanwhile, Eric Dankel was in the lead with his MTC2R, and second placed Marc Rheinard was trying to real him in with his Awesomatix A800R.
After his win in A1, another first place would have been enough for Rheinard to take the overall victory here in Aigen. But Eric Dankel was doing a brilliant job to keep the five-time world champion Rheinard behind and brought home his first ever Modified A-Main heat win at the ETS. Oliver Havranek (Xray), Simon Lauter (Awesomatix), and Patrick Gollner (Xray) completed the top 5 in the second Matrix Modified A-Main. The decision for the overall win went down to the line in A3.
A3– The third and deciding Matrix Modified A-Main was on the line and everybody was excited who would be the winner in the end. With Eric Dankel, Marc Rheinard, Oliver Havranek, and Jan Ratheisky, we had four drivers with a theoretical chance for the win. Eric Dankel and Marc Rheinard had the best shot. When the race started, it was TQ Ronald Völker who brought the field around the first three laps until his car took off and landed into the fence when he drove over the curbing in the fast chicane on the left side of the track. Völkers race was done, so was his chance to secure a spot on the podium. A real nightmare for Völker who looked so dominant during most parts of the weekend.
After Völker disappeared from the timing, Eric Dankel was leading with Marc Rheinard right behind him. Dankel knew that he needed to win A3 to get the overall victory, and he did a masterful job to keep Rheinard behind. Marc was putting a lot of pressure on Dankel`s Mugen ride in front of him and it was amazing to watch these guys racing.
In lap 15 the deciding moment happened: Dankel and Rheinard drove on the main straight, and Dankel went a little wider in the long sweeper that in the laps before. Rheinard took the chance and tried to put his Awesomatix car on the inside line. They went side by side, touched slightly, Rheinard went by, and Dankel suffered a body tuck which cost him two positions – and a possible race win. Another tough moment for the Mugen Seiki team which had looked so strong here in Aigen. Marc took the win in A3 and brought home the victory. It was a very important win for Rheinard and Awesomatix after the bad start into the season in Apeldoorn (P7 for Rheinard). Xray`s Jan Ratheisky scored another second place in A3 which brought him second overall while Erid Dankel had to take the bitter sweet third place on the podium after a brilliant weekend. The Matrix Modified Podium was conquered by Marc Rheinard (1st), Jan Ratheisky (2nd), and Eric Dankel (3rd).

A2 – Right after the start, Tim Benson was putting a nice pass on Louis Kretschmer and took second place behind the leader Adam Izsay. Benson was able to create some pressure onto Izsay but after one-minute Izsay was able to pull away from Benson again. At the end, Izsay won A2 with 1.6 of a second in front of Tim Benson, and Olivier Bultynck in third place. With Kretschmer and Izsay both having one win, the decision for the overall win was shifted to the third A-Main.
A3 – The last and deciding Pro Stock A-Main saw Adam Izsay completing his “Mission Austria” as he took the win which earned him the overall victory at ETS RD2. Louis Kretschmer and Tim Benson secured the final spots on the podium behind Izsay. We saw a high quality Pro Stock race all weekend long and we like to send huge congratulations to all Pro Stock drivers!

A2 – Adam Izsay showed again that he was the fastest driver here in the FWD class all weekend long. Izsay took the win from tone to tone and secured the win at ETS RD2 in Austria. Pawel Staszewski had another good run and finished second again behind race winner Izsay. Andy Murray took third place while Jonas Völker dropped down to P10 after a mistake in the last minute of A2.
A3- Race winner Adam Izsay was not on the line anymore in A3. Pawel Staszewski was starting from P1 and took the win in front of Andy Murray and Jonas Völker. The final results saw Adam Izsay on the top spot of the podium, flanked by Pawel Staszewski, and Andy Murray – congratulations guys.

A2 – The second Masters A-Main saw TQ Michel Zierold making a huge mistake in the second lap. He drove his Awesomatix car into the grass and lost many positions. Mirco Thalheimer took full advantage of it and was able to win A2 after a perfect drive. Behind Thalheimer, a sometimes very hard battle was going on with Manuel Stankowitz, Michel Zierold, Andreas Myrberg, Werner Schmitzer, Torsten Baggendorf, and Ronald Arts all involved. At the end of the run, it was Manuel Stankowitz taking second place followed by Michel Zierold, Ronald Arts, and Torsten Baggendorf.
The win was on the line in A3 with Zierold and Thalheimer having the best shot for the biggest trophy!
A3 – Michel Zierold and Mirco Thalheimer both had a perfect start into leg 3 and they immediately started to pull away from the rest of the field. They were matching lap times lap after lap, and Zierold was driving like a real rock without the smallest mistake. That didn`t allow Thalheimer to ride a serious attack on “Zwickau” Zierold in front of him.
Behind the leaders, a nice “DRS train” was circulating around the track and the Masters showed a great last A-Main. Michel Zierold crossed the line under the applause of the crowd and Mirco Thalheimer was the first one to congratulate him for his win – awesomae jobby all 40+ Masters drivers!

A2 – Daniel Pöhlmann was able to strike back in the second A-Main which he won in style ahead ofTristan Bergheim and Jan Gehrig. The decision for the overall win was shifted to A3.
A3 – The third final was the decider between Pöhlmann, and A1 winner Langner. Daniel Pöhlmann made no mistakes and drive a very good race ahead of the youngster Phil Langner. In the end, Daniel Pöhlmann took a well-deserved win ahead of second place finisher Phil Langner, and Apeldoorn race winner Tristan Bergheim.
Winner B-Main: Armin Rajki
Winner C-Main: Aleksandar Stefanovic
A2 – David Ehrbar was able to win the second A-Main of the ToniSport Formula class. He had a great race with TQ Andreas Stiebler and made a nice move on Stiebler two laps before the end of the race. Ehrbar and Stiebler went into A3 with one win each.
A3 – In the last Formula final, Stiebler was back on pace and pulled away from Ehrbar. In the last minute of the race, Stiebler had a straightway lead and brought home the well-deserved F1 victory here in Aigen-Schlägl. David Ehrbar and Jan Ratheisky joined him on the podium.
Winner B-Main: Chris Grenz
The first Modified A-main was a great show of ETS racing. On the sound of the tone, Mugen Seiki`s Eric Dankel had a rocket start and went by TQ Ronald Völker on the first 20 meters to jump into the lead. The Mugen duo was leading the race afterwards, with Rheinard (Awesomatix) and Ratheisky (Xray) following in third and fourth position.
In lap 7, Völker was very close to Dankel, and as Dankel was a little wide in the right turn before the downhill section to the timing loop, Völker tried to make it stick. But the Mugen cars touched side by side, Völker spun into the grass, lost 2 seconds, and was fourth afterwards.
Dankel was still leading the race, but Rheinard went into second spot and started to hunt Dankel down. Ratheisky earned P3 after the little Dankel/Völker collision and was also not far away from the race leaders Dankel and Rheinard.
Dankel drove a great race out front, but somehow, he made a costly mistake in lap 16 where he rolled his car over and dropped down all the way to P5. Rheinard took over the lead and managed to bring home the win in A1. Ratheisky was able to hold off Völker until the end with Christopher Krapp (Yokomo) taking fourth place in front of Eric Dankel.
What an amazing A1 it was for the spectators – we can`t wait for A2 and A3 to happen very soon!

Adam Izsay (Xray) had an excellent start into Pro Stock A1. The Xray driver was immediately pulling a small gap to the rest of the field and looked untouchable again. But his aim for the win ended when he made a big mistake in the third lap of the race putting his Xray onto the roof. Izsay dropped all the way back to P10 as the field was close together and able to pass him until the marshal could turn his car around again.
Louis Kretschmer (Awesomatix) took full advantage of the Izsay crash and took over the lead with Benson (Jambo One) and Bultynck (Awesomatix) following in second and third. Behind the top 3, there was a nice battle going on involving Ratheisky (Xray), Vogl (Yokomo), and Schulz (Xray). They showed some great Pro Stock racing over the entire runtime.
After five minutes, it was Louis Kretschmer taking the win with Benson and Bultynck in second and third!
The first Hobbywing FWD A-Main it was top qualifier Adam Izsay (Xray) who took the win. He had to lay down a perfect run onto the MAV track as second place starter Pawel Staszewski (Awesomatix) had the same pace and was running behind Izsay all the time. Izsay managed to keep calm and made no mistakes.
Behind the leaders, Jonas Völker (Mugen Seiki) took third place after he overtook Andy Murray (Schumacher) right after the start. Mark Valent (Xray) and Andy Murray finished in fourth and fifth spot in the first of the triple FWD A-mains.
Top qualifier Michel Zierold (Awesomatix) had a great start into the first of the three Masters A-Mains. He was leading the race from tone to tone in front of a very quick Mirco Thalheimer (Xray). Thalheimer`s car looked very strong on track but there was no chance for him to come close enough to the Awesomatix of Zierold in front of him as both made no single mistake.
Werner Schmitzer started sixth on the grid and worked his way all up to third position, while Baggendorf finished fourth. B-Main Bump up Oliver Grimm had a great race as well and made it from P11 up to P5.
The first Orca 21.5 Stock A-Main saw young racer Phil Langner taking the win from second on the grid. Daniel Pöhlmann was leading the race in the first 7 laps, until a big mistake latting him drop down to fifth place. Phil Langner took the chance and drove a great race out front until he crossed the finish line under the applause of the crowd. Balazs Racz, Tobias Baumbach, Daniel Pöhlmann, and Simeon Seis (from 10th on the grid) completed the top 5 in the first final.
Andreas Stiebler had a good start in the first A-Main, and he never looked back after the sound of the tone. He took the win from start to finish with his Schumacher Icon2 formula car in front of the four Xray cars of Gergö Valent, Jan Ratheisky, René Kölbel, and Luka Jovicic. Stiebler needs another perfect run to walk away from Aigen-Schlägl with maximum points in the bag.
Qualifying is over here at ETS RD2 Season #16 2023/24 at the beautiful venue in Aigen-Schlägl. The grid for the finals is set and all the A-Main action will take place here on Sunday. Q3 – Marc Rheinard took the third round of Matrix Modified qualifying with his Awesomatix A800R. His advantage over the line from second placed Eric Dankel (Mugen Seiki) was only 0.2 seconds, but enough to step back into the fight for the overall TQ. Max Mächler (Awesomatix) had a fantastic run in the second fastest group and posted the third fastest runtime in Q3. The grid for the A-Main was wide open from P5 to P10 and the fight will be as intense as the battle between Rheinard and Völker for pole position. With Rheinard` s winning time from Q3 being slightly faster compared to Völker`s times from Q1 and Q2, we expected a real showdown for the number one starting spot in the Modified class.
Q4 – The last round of Matrix Modified qualifying saw Marc Rheinard and Ronald Völker battling it out for the TQ – until Eric Dankel popped up on top of the board. Marc Rheinard then made a small mistake in lap number three and dropped down to fifth position. Dankel was super-fast, took the win ahead of his Mugen teammate Völker, and posted the fastest TQ run of the weekend. This result secured Dankel the second spot on the grid ahead of Rheinard while Völker`s overall TQ was in dry towels as well.
The starting order in tomorrows triple A-Mains will be: Völker, Dankel, Rheinard, Ratheisky, Krapp, Havranek, Mächler, Lauter, Gollner, and Kretschmer.
Q3- Tim Benson took the win in the third round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying. He was having an amazing run with his Jambo✩ One car, which he made from many self-made parts and parts from other manufacturers. He posted his time out of the second fastest qualifying group while Adam Izsay was second fastest for the round winning the top heat. There was a small chance for Tim Benson to snatch the overall TQ away from Izsay in the final qualifier.
Q4- In Q4, Tim Benson was not able to post another TQ run. In the fastest heat, it was Louis Kretschmer, Olivier Bultynck, and Jan Ratheisky who outpaced Q1 and Q2 winner Adam Izsay.
However, the results from the first two rounds had been enough for Izsay to seal an impressive double TQ (ProStock and FWD) at ETS RD2 in Austria. The top 5 on the grid will be Adam Izsay (Xray), Louis Kretschmer (Awesomatix), Tim Benson (Jambo One), Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix), and Dominic Vogl (Yokomo).
Q3- After winning Q1 and Q2, Xray driver Adam Izsay only needed another win to take pole position for tomorrows triple A-Mains. And Izsay delivered another TQ run. It was a very close affair between him, Pawel Staszewski (Awesomatix), and Jonas Völker (Mugen Seiki) but in the end Izsay could take the win by a tenth of a second from Staszewski.
Q4- The last round of Hobbywing Frontwheel qualifying saw Adam Izsay (Xray) on top again. The Xray driver from Hungary was driving super strong this weekend and showed his competitors once more who owns the track. Schumacher`s Andy Murray from Great Britain improved a lot in Q4 and was able to score a second place for the round followed by Awesomatix driver Pawel Staszewski from Poland, and Mugen Seiki`s Jonas Völker from Germany.
The starting grid will see Izsay starting ahead of Staszewski, Murray, Völker, and Valent in the top 5.
Q3- Mirco Thalheimer had another perfect run with his Xray X4-2023 on track as he took the win from Zierold (Awesomatix) by 0.4 seconds. Manuel Stankowitz took his Iris car to another third place with the ARC of Torsten Baggendorf and the Xray of René Kölbel finishing fourth and fifth. The decision for the pole position came down to Q4 between Michel Zierold and Mirco Thalheimer.
Q4- The last round of 40+ Masters qualifying was the expected showdown between Zierold and Thalheimer. Michel Zierold needed to beat Mirco Thalheimer`s fastest runtime, and he was able to complete the mission with his runtime from Q4 being 0.8 seconds faster. Michel Zierold will start from pole for the second time in his ETS racing career after achieving this great result as well at last season`s season final in Daun. Good luck to all drivers of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class for the finals on Sunday.
Q3 – Phil Langner was leading the heat for most of the time until he made a costly 5 seconds mistake coming onto the straightway. Daniel Pöhlmann took full advantage of that and won the heat in front of Tristan Bergheim and Tobias Baumbach. The decision for the TQ was on the line in the last round of Orca 21.5 Stock qualifying.
Q4 – In the deciding qualifier, Phil Langner was battling it out with Pöhlmann until he made a mistake and landed into the grass. Pöhlmann then took the win which ensured him the overall TQ in the Orca 21.5 Stock class. Phil Langner will start from second place into the finals, ahead of Tristan Bergheim, Jan Gehrig, and Tobias Baumbach.
Q3- With three out of three, Andreas Stiebler will start from the best starting spot into the A-Mains of the ToniSport Formula class. Stiebler took the win in Q3 with a very comfortable gap of 3 seconds from Xray`s Jan Ratheisky, and René Kölbel in third position. With Stiebler already sealed the TQ, the fight for the positions behind him continued in the final round of qualifying.
Q4- Stiebler didn`t slow down in the (for him unimportant) last round of qualifying and took another win ahead of David Ehrbar, and Gergö Valent. The starting grid for the triple A-Mains will see Stiebler start ahead of Ehrbar, Ratheisky, Valent, and Kölbel.
The second qualifier is done and we get a closer impression about the drivers fighting for the win in all our ETS racing classes.
With two more rounds to follow, the tension on everybody is getting higher and higher. The weather looks stable for the whole day which means that we can finish qualifying in perfect conditions.
Q2 was another strong outing on track from Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker. He looked very dominant and won the heat by 1.5 seconds ahead of his teammate Eric Dankel who had a super close race with third placed Marc Rheinard and his Awesomatix A800R. Völker added the second TQ run to his favor and Dankel is now tied on points with Rheinard in the fight for second on the grid. Behind the top 3, Yokomo`s Christopher Krapp and Xray`s Oliver Havranek took fourth and fifth for the round.
Two more rounds of qualifying are coming up next to define our A-Main grid!
Adam Izsay took the second round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying making it 2 out of 2 for the moment. Louis Kretschmer (Awesomatix), Dominic Vogl (Yokomo), Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix), and Enrico Jung (Yokomo) completed the top 5 in Q2 and Izsay is only one run away from sealing the best spot on the grid for the triple A-Mains on Sunday.
Louis Kretschmer posted the fastest lap of the heat (18.219) and was only three tenths behind Izsay and it seems that the Awesomatix team is getting back on pace to challenge Izsay`s Xray car. Can somebody take the TQ away from Izsay, or will we see the Hungarian driver claiming his first ever ETS Pro Stock TQ here in Austria?
Xray`s Adam Izsay posted another TQ run on Saturday morning here at ETS RD2. This time it was Pawel Staszewski (Awesomatix) and Andy Murray (Schumacher) who took second and third in front of Kevin Sparbier (Mugen Seiki) and Max Weffers (Mugen Seiki).
If Izsay will continue to drive like he did until now, he will start from pole position into tomorrows triple A-Mains. He is just one run away from sealing the deal!
My Xray FWD car works amazing. It is a pure joy to drive it and I hope that I can win more round of qualifying as the pole position is always a huge benefit to have when heading into the finals!

In the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class, Mirco Thalheimer (Xray) took the second round of qualifying with a one second gap from Q1 winner Michel Zierold (Awesomatix). This result puts Thalheimer equal to Zierold on points, and the third round of qualifying will be a very important one.
René Kölbel (Xray), Manuel Stankowitz (Iris), and Torsten Baggendorf (ARC) rounded out the top 5 here on a sunny Saturday morning in Aigen-Schlägl.
I made some changes to my car setup as I wanted to get a clean and safe run this morning. I knew that the track would maybe not provide the same traction as yesterday evening so I took it nice and easy. I am very happy with my run as it was very clean and consistant and my strategy fully paid off!

The second round of Orca 21.5 Stock qualifying saw young Phil Langner laying down a great run onto the MAV Aigen racetrack. He had a close fight with Tristan Bergheim and Q1 winner Pöhlmann, and took the win by 0.079 of a second after five minutes. Jan Gehrig and Tobias Baumbach completed the top 5.
For Phil Langner, it was a very special moment as it was his first ever ETS TQ run – congratulations to Phil and his father Marc for doing such a great job. Keep up the great work and good luck for the rest of the weekend!
It was the first run in which I made no mistakes and my car was good to drive. When Scotty said I was in the lead, I tried to stay focussed as I was a little nervous. For Q3 we will just check the car and race it as it is!

The second round of ToniSport Formula qualifying saw again Andreas Stiebler setting the pace. The Austrian Schumacher driver posted the fastest lap as well (18.809), and has already scored two TQ runs now. Behind him, a much-improved René Kölbel worked his way up to second place as he finished the run only seven tenths behind Stiebler.
Jan Ratheisky (Xray), David Ehrbar (Xray), and Balint Rajki (Xray) took positions 3 to 5 in this one and Andreas Stiebler is the top favourite for claiming the overall TQ today.
In the Hobbywing FWD class, Jacques Libar from Luxembourg is using the brand new Xray X4F. He is running the car as it comes out of the box, with the only options being a carbon bumper plate from Xray, and a front bumper made by a club member and friend. Jacques is using the Fly Sky Noble Pro radio, Nosram batteries, a Power HD servo, and a P63 body shell from Protoform!

The second day of ETS RD2 in Austria is in the books. After some rounds of free and controlled practice, we saw all drivers in action during the opening round of qualifying in the afternoon. Many threatening looking clouds passed the track, but with a little luck all heats could be run in dry conditions. The racing action will continue on Saturday where we will see three more rounds of high class ETS qualifying. But now, find out what happened on Friday in Aigen and enjoy this report from Q1.
In the opening round of Modified qualifying, all drivers pushed their cars to the absolute limit. Top seed Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki) had the best opening laps and was leading the field for the entire five minutes before he crossed the line 1.6 seconds ahead of Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) who worked his way from 5th to 2nd in the end. Eric Dankel (Mugen Seiki) had to survive a tough moment in the first lap where he almost lost his car on the straightway. He managed to keep it on track and scored a good third place overall in Q1 ahead of Yokomo`s Christopher Krapp, and reigning Pro Stock champion Simon Lauter (Awesomatix).
My car felt really good, and I was able to drive it consistent and fast around the track. Right now, we are really happy with our MTC2R cars here in Aigen and we (Ronald and Eric) try to keep up the pace for tomorrow!

My Q1 result is ok, but the feeling I have for my car is not what I am looking for. I am loosing too much time in the first laps of the race where the Mugen drivers (Völker and Dankel) have a clear advantage. Let`s see if we can find something to improve the pace in the opening laps of the run tomorrow!

Luckily, I survived the first lap. I still have no idea why my car went so much to the outside of the straightway. But after that my run was good and I am very happy with a P3 in the opening round of qualifying. My MTC2R is really good and I will try my best to continue like this here in Aigen!

Adam Izsay is on a mission here at ETS RD2 in Aigen. After he won Q1 of the FWD class, he had another perfect run in the Awesomatix Pro Stock class some minutes later. He had a clean run with his Xray car and took the win ahead of his teammate Stefan Schulz. Jan Ratheisky skipped Q1 to save some tires for tomorrow. Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix) scored a third place for the round, followed by Dominic Vogl (Yokomo) and Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix).
After a perfect day, Adam Izsay can lean back and relax a bit while his competitors have a lot of work to do to close the gap in the remaining three rounds of qualifying on Saturday.
In the Hobbywing Frontwheel class, Adam Izsay (Xray) continued to drive super-fast and clean around the MAV Aigen racetrack. He was able to buid up a gap of 2.6 seconds to second and third placed drivers Mark Valent (Xray) and Jonas Völker (Mugen Seiki) until the end of the five-minute run. Izsay also posted the fastest lap and was the only guy with a 21 second time (hot lap 21.813).
Behind second placed Mark Valent and third placed Jonas Völker, Mugen racer Kevin Sparbier took fourth for the round with Pawel Staszewski (Awesomatix) completing the top 5. It will be a hard task for everybody to challenge Izsay for the overall TQ in the remaining three rounds of qualifying and we are already looking forward to more FWD action on Saturday!
The 1up Racing 40+ Masters class saw top seed Michel Zierold laying down an impressive TQ run. With dark clouds passing by the track at that time, Zierold drove a perfect race with his Awesomatix and took the win by only 0.059 of a second from Mirco Thalheimer who was on a similar pace with his Xray car. Zierold had the fastest lap of the run to his favour (19.756 in lap 2) compared to Thalheimer (19.842 in lap3), which in the end earned him the win in this heat.
Manuel Stankowitz (Iris), Elibert Sievers (Awesomatix), and René Kölbel (Xray) rounded out the top five in the first round of 1up Racing 40+ Masters qualifying. A great start into the weekend which gives us a lot of hope for a thrilling fight on top!
In the first round of Orca 21.5 Stock qualifying, Daniel Pöhlmann showed again that he likes to get his hands onto the trophy for this weekend`s race win. Pöhlmann took the win 1.5 seconds ahead of Jan Gehrig, with Tobias Baumbach finishing the run another 2.3 seconds behind in third place. Young Phil Langner took fourth for the round and Robert Kampehl scored a good fifth place after Timo Siebert dropped back to P8 after a big driving mistake.
The first round of qualifying in the ToniSport Formula class happened right after some light raindrops had fallen on the track and everybody had to wait for around 15 minutes for the track to dry again. As the racing started, Andreas Stiebler (Schumacher) posted the fastest lap of the run and took the win by 1.9 seconds from David Ehrbar (Xray) and Jan Ratheisky (Xray). Gergö Valent took fourth for the round and René Kölbel finished fifth.
After a total of seven free practice rounds, the ETS racers had two rounds of controlled seeding practice to find out in which qualifying heat they would end. The seeding counts every driver`s fastest three consecutive laps (same as in free practice) and everybody was pushing really hard on track to get into the best possible group for the upcoming four rounds of qualifying. The first round will take place today, with three more rounds to follow on Saturday.
The seeding practice of the Matrix Modified saw all the top drivers pushing super hard to squeeze the maximum out of their cars and tires. It was Ronald Völker who posted the fastest laptimes again with his best time coming from the second of the two rounds of timed practice. Völker`s teammate Eric Dankel had a great first timed practice session and will start second into qualifying with his MTC2R touring car.
Behind the Mugen duo, last year`s race winner Christopher Krapp is currently sitting in third place followed by a very strong driving Mattia Collina (Schumacher), and Awesomatix driver Marc Rheinard. Qualifying will be a close affair and everybody is already looking forward to some very close races on track in our Matrix Modified class.

The Awesomatix Pro Stock class saw a dominant day from the Xray team so far. Adam Izsay continued to be the fastest and Jan Ratheisky is now back in the game as he moved up to P2 in the last seeding run. Stefan Schulz is third with his Xray X4-2023 and the best “non Xray driver” is Yokomo`s Enrico Jung who is sitting in P4 after seeding practice. Schumacher`s Mattia Collina completes the top 5 in a practice session which was the first since a very long time with no Awesomatix car making it into the top 5. Olivier Bultynck is the highest ranked Awesomatix driver in sixth place so far – let`s see if the empire can strike back in qualifying!

Mark Valent improved to third place in the last round of practice with his Xray car and will start ahead of German champion Daniel Pöhlmann (Awesomatix), and Mugen Seiki driver Max Weffers who completes the top 5. Adam Izsay was fast all day and qualifying will show us if somebody can challenge him over a complete 5 minute run. Michel Zierold is the top seed in the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class. The Awesomatix driver performed really good all day and is on the sunny side of life right now. Mirco Thalheimer (Xray) will start right behind him into qualifying and seems to be his hardest contender now.
Xray`s René Kölbel is third after seeding, while Torsten Baggendorf (ARC) and Manuel Stankowitz (Iris) made it 4 different manufacturers in the top 5.

Daniel Pöhlmann will start first into qualifying after he was the fastest driver in Orca 21.5 Stock seeding practice. His Awesomatix car had a great pace and he was fastest in all rounds so far. Behind Pöhlmann, we saw Jan Gehrig, Tristan Bergheim, Timo Siebert, and Tobias Baumbach all had been in about 0.062 of a second (!) which clearly shows how hard you have to fight for a top result in this class. Four rounds of qualifying are up next – who will challenge Daniel Pöhlmann?

Schumacher factory driver Andreas Stiebler is on a high here at ETS RD2 in Aigen. The Austrian racer topped all rounds of practice with his Schumacher Icon2 and is in a very comfortable position now. Behind Stiebler, a very fast Balint Rajki stepped onto the ETS stage with his Xray car and is Stiebler`s hardest challenger after the two rounds of controlled practice.
Gergö Valent, David Ehrbar, and Jan Ratheisky completed the top 5 with their Xray cars. Can Stiebler remain on top with his Schumacher car against the Xray gang in qualifying? Let`s find it out!
