0

The engineers at Hobbywing have created a new speed controller to replace the current G2 version of their XeRun XR10 Justock series.
The G2 version is well-known since 3 years and was (and still is) the very reliable speed controller of the highly competitive FWD class at the Euro Touring Series.
With the G2 version not being available from Hobbywing anymore form now on, the new G3 will be the ESC of choice for the ETS races in the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. Both ESCs are featuring the same setting parameters, and the used RPM limiter is also exactly the same (17.500 rpm). The main changes between the two ESC`s is about the hardware with a new case, a built-in capacitator, and all black power wires.

To make it easy for all ETS FWD racers, both versions (G2 and G3) will be allowed at the season final in Daun, and in the whole upcoming Seaosn #16 2023/24.

What is new on the XeRun XR10 Justock G3 speed controller? Here are the features:

  • Programming also possible via LCD box and WiFi/OTA module!
  • BEC optional with 6.0V or 7.4V – adjustable at 4A

Tebo and TEKNO part ways

0

US top offroad racer Jared Tebo has announced an unexpected end of his partnership with his chassis sponsor TEKNO RC. Shortly before christmas, Tebo posted the following words on his social media. TEKNO RC confirmed these words in antother statement on their pages. Lets see what Tebos next stop will be. The former world champion, multiple NEO winner, and reedy race winner is still very fast and should easily find a new home to continue his racing programme – good luck Jared!

Well, it’s a bittersweet post. I can now say that my time with Tekno RC will be ending at the end of 2022. It’s been a fun, challenging, and rewarding 4 year journey together. To be honest, it’s ending sooner than I was planning, or expecting, I thought I would end my racing career with them. Plans change and that is the job/industry.

I’d like to thank everyone at Tekno, from the owner, all the managers, the designers, my teammates, and the awesome warehouse/shipping guys. I will miss seeing that my order is literally shipped minutes after I place it. We worked hard, we all learned things together, and we had some great successes together. Winning the Reedy Race was INCREDIBLE, a moment I will never forget! I did my best to represent the brand well and offer my services the best I could, and I’m happy with the mark I left at Tekno!

On to new challenges and a new journey ahead! Change is always happening in life, and it’s exciting to embrace it. I will be continuing on with my racing career in 2023 and years to come. I had some very good and exciting opportunities present themselves to me, I can’t wait to share them to you all. Thank you to all the people that support me, you all mean a lot to me. It’s incredible to read all the positive and kind words, you guys probably don’t realize how much they are appreciated.

At his last weekend of racing for 2022, Schumacher factory driver Michal Orlowski once again showed his brilliance on carpet with a TQ and win in 2WD and 4WD buggy at the Race Stars Contest in Zgierz/Poland. The perfect ending for a great year, and Michal Orlowski posted the following words on his social media:

Double TQ&WIN at Race Stars Contest 2022. A flawless way to finish off this fantastic year of racing. Big thank you to Tris, my dad, and the Schumacher Family this weekend. We tried many new ideas and improved our platforms a lot. My Schumacher R/C Racing CAT L1R and Cougar LD2 equipped with Hobbywing Technology/ Sunpadow RC, Power HD, Whitz Racing Products and MR33 Racing were brilliant. I am looking forward to the first races of 2023 in January. Now, it is time to take a small break after 30+ racing weekends this year and a lot of testing and wrenching to go with that. I will check in here in a few days to wrap up 2022. Watched the World Cup final on the way back home and it was probably the most exciting football match I have ever seen, well done Argentina! See you soon!

RC Maker Carbon Short Wheelbase Arms for Awesomatix A800MMX

0

New for the Awesomatix A800MMX touring car, and A800FX FWD platforms are three different lower arms from RC Maker. Ryan Maker posted the following information about his latest product for the famous Awesomatix onroad RC cars:

We are happy to introduce our brand new short wheelbase arms for the Awesomatix A800MMX & A800FX! These were first developed over a year ago, and through several profile tests after feedback from numerous team drivers around the world, we have settled on the final design!
Firstly, these arms feature a larger profile than the kit arms to increase the rigidity of the arm. They also feature a carbon rib which further increases the stiffness of the arm at the point of shock attachment. This creates less twisting of the arm and reduces unwanted inputs into the shock absorbers due to arm flex. In our testing these arms increased corner speed by reducing the flex and grip the arm was generating, which made the car more free in the corner.
The shorter wheelbase certainly improved the cars response and rotation at low speed. This was particularly noticeable on tighter, more technical tracks, and less on big flowing tracks.
In conclusion, the arms were a great tuning option which we found improved the cars corner speed, response and rotation particularly on tight technical tracks, when used in both front and rear.
