At every racing event, countless plastic bottles are used by all participants. We as the Euro Touring Series have now taken up the cause of doing something about this. Of course, we realise that we cannot banish every plastic bottle from the pits, but we can contribute to simply reducing the amount. Let`s do this together and reduce plastic bottles in our pit areas!
Our ETS family member Stefan Engelmayer from Austria had a very long and intensive discussion with us about this back in 2023. Stefan works in Technical Support PS+WD and is Head of Event Technology at BWT, which most of you are already familiar with for sure. The Austrian based company BWT is often mentioned in racing. For example, the company can be found as a sponsor on the cars of the Alpine Formula 1 team!

BWT – CHANGE THE WORLD, sip by sip!
Because of this, we as the ETS have now decided to use BWT water dispensers. From now on, we want to use the dispensers wherever we can. We have also created an extra BWT drinking bottle in the typical BWT colours with a nice ETS branding. Every ETS participant can purchase this bottle and use it every time at the ETS, and in private life. Drivers can fill the bottle at the BWT dispensers during our ETS races for a small fee, which always goes to the organising club!
The new water dispensers from BWT will celebrate their ETS debut at the season finale in Wiener Neustadt. Stefan Engelmayer himself will be there to launch this fantastic project together with us. If you are interested in one of these nice bottles, you will get it trackside at Arena Nova in Wiener Neustadt, and you can also get it in advance!

Michal Orlowski took the win in the modified touring car class at the MIBO International race in Hrotovice (Czech republic) last weekend. The Schumacher driver was top qualifier ahead of Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker, Jan Ratheisky (Xray), Pekko Iivonen (Schumacher), and Christopher Krapp (Yokomo). Orlowski took A1 and A2 to seasl the deal and Ronald Völker managed to win A3 to finish second overall with Ratheisky in third place.
The 17.5 Stock class was in the hands of Jan Ratheisky. He won the race ahead of Stefan Schulz and Tobias Sutrich.
In the FWD class Stefan Schulz took the win ahead of Alexander Mayer and Marcus von Elling.
The F1 victory went to Luke Lee in front of Thomas Sova and Chris Grenz.
In Modified, Elliott Harper (Schumacher) took TQ, but each time was only a few tenths of a second ahead of the chasing pack. Kyle Branson lined up second ahead of his Xray team mate, and winner of the previous event, Harley Eldridge, with Alex Thurston rounding out the top four for Yokomo.In the A Final, Kyle kept the pressure on Elliott for the entire five minutes, with Harley and Alex looking to pick up any pieces. Elliott withstood the pressure and managed to take the win, with Harley taking second from Kyle on the very final corner.
Rush Stock Touring
In Stock, Zak Finlay secured TQ for Xray, setting the best time in Q2, Q3 and Q4 after Tony Broad had set the best time in Q1 with his privateer Xray. Andy Murray led Schumacher team mate Billy Fletcher to line up third and fourth, with Martin Ross rounding out the top five.Zak had another of his lights-to-flag domination of the A Final, securing not only another victory but another overall championship. The crowd were entertained by the scrap for second place between Andy and Billy, with Billy trying everything to get past his car’s designer. They finished in that order, leaving the overall championship positions to be settled at next month’s Finale.
Ride / MB Front Wheel Drive
In Fronti, Ben Moorey who already had the championship wrapped up, made it another TQ, whilst behind some great scraps had Andrew Cooper lining up ahead of Mark Caton, Craig Woods and Stuart Collard. Ben also cruised to a solid victory, with Andrew having a quiet run to second place. Mark had some brilliant racing, the FWD rules once again proving the right choices for close and fair action. Mark managed to take a popular podium to round out the top three.The season concludes with Round 5 in March.
Why the final race of ETS Season #16 is a MUST GO…..
Normally you know our headlines as “5 THINGS…” but this week we will give you at least “5 REASONS” to make the trip to the final race of ETS Season #16 2023/24 at Arena Nova in Wiener Neustadt, AUT.
We are already counting 180 entries, even if the race is still 5 weeks away from us. The plannings for ETS RD6 are already in full swing together with the hosting club 1. MRC Wiener Neustadt, and the facility Arena Nova which has listed our event on their official event calendar now!
1) Champions to be crowned
Nothing new on this one but we are already looking forward to crown the overall champions in all our six ETS racing classes. The fight for the title is still open in 4 classes and that is a reason enough to be right there when the title contenders will battle it out on track.
Tristan Bergheim, Phil Langner, Michel Zierold, Mirco Thalheimer, René Kölbel, Olivier Bultynck, Adam Izsay, Ronald Völker, Marc Rheinard, Lucas Urbain, and Michal Orlowski will all travel to Wiener Neustadt with a chance for the thitle in their racing class – that is really awesome!
2) Drivers’ dinner with authentic Austrian cuisine
The 1. MRC Wiener Neustadt will organize a drivers dinner with typical Austrian food. We are trying to have our drivers dinner on Friday evening and we will build the time schedule around it. There will be something great with meat, and they will also offer a tasty vegetarian meal.
We will inform you in the next weeks how to pre-order your meal of choice and we hope that all of you will attend the drivers dinner to spend a nice evening with us at the season finale.
By the way: The Tombola will take place at the same evening 🙂
3) Tombola with a free ticket for every racer
Years ago, the huge tombola raffle was one of the highlights at every ETS Season Finale. Due to several reasons, the tombola was not showing up anymore in the last years. But as we think that it is always great to win a nice price, we have contacted all our wonderful sponsors and asked them for their support.
Luckily, most of them are supporting us now with some nice products for the event at Arena Nova. Every racer will receive at least one free ticket and we will then raffle off the great prizes during the drivers’ dinner on Friday evening – GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY 🙂
4) Frequent ETS racers to receive special gifts
All the frequent ETS racers will receive their “special gift” at the Season Finale in Wiener Neustadt. How to become a frequent driver? Well, if you are attending 5 or 6 ETS races in one season you have completed the mission. Last year, everybody with 5 or 6 races received a personalised ETS setup board and we have seen those in the pits many times during the actual season!
What will drivers get this time? For sure we won`t tell you now…. The only hot tip: It will not be a setup board again 🙂
5) Dash 4 Cash might happen….
Well, this one is not 100% confirmed but our wish is to do a Dash 4 Cash again in Wiener Neustadt. We know that this was a highlight back in the past at many races. Nowadays, our time schedules are not allowing us to do a Dash 4 Cash very often, but we will try our very best to make it happen at the ETS Season Finale…. Stay tuned!

after we had been in talks with different locations for ETS RD3, we are happy to announce that we will go to the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg”for ETS RD3 of the upcoming Season #17 2024/25.
After racing there at RD4 of Season #15 in 2022 for the last time, the ETS circus will meet again at this iconic track with the famous “Laguna Seca” corkscrew corner – one of the most famous corners in the world of RC.

Calendar with 5 races for Season #17 2024/25
As you can see on the schedule picture, there are only 5 event locations left. After many discussions with racers, event organisers and possible locations, we have decided to run ETS Season #17 2024/25 with only 5 races instead of 6.
Many racers have approached us in the past asking for three-day events, while many others have said they love the four-day format! Since three-day events don’t allow for the amount of entries we normally have (especially indoors), we will stick with four-day events at ETS.
As you can imagine, it has become increasingly difficult to find suitable venues for an ETS race. We think it is a good way to reduce the series from 6 to 5 races. The racers can save 3-4 days of holiday and the cost of participating in a full season is reduced for teams and drivers at the same time. Perhaps not a bad thing in these difficult economic times!
We are therefore planning the new season with 5 races, three outdoor and two indoor races. One of the indoor races will again take place in Daun (dates to be finalised). Of these 5 races, 4 will count towards the championship.
We hope that this decision will meet with your approval and are already looking forward to a great ETS season #17, which will start in Apeldoorn in June!

TestLogger Collector: a new data acquisition system inspired by full scale professional motorsport racing.
The recent ETS event in Daun showcased a new addition to RC car racing: data logging technology, which hasn’t been seen in the sport before in larger scale. Data logging is considered as standard in full scale motorsports, it’s a new development for RC racing. Now TestLogger is closing the gap with data acquisition system designed for RC cars to analyse driver and chassis behaviour. TestLogger is currently developing a tailored tool set for data collection, analytics, and management, similar to the technologies used in professional full scale motorsports.
What benefits does the data enable for racers and hobbyists when using the TestLogger in RC car racing?
1) Performance Analysis: With TestLogger Collector, drivers and teams can gather comprehensive data on various aspects of their car’s performance, including speed, driver input, acceleration, lateral force, rotation speed, and temperatures. The TestLogger story begun 10 years ago, with a vision of designing an easy-to use tool for managing setup information, lap times, tracks and conditions in a controlled manner – in other words, finding a better way of collecting data from test and race days than notepads or Excel spreadsheets.
The owner and main developer of TestLogger is Jussi Luopajärvi, whose background in professional motorsports provided the foundation and perfect environment for the idea of designing and devel-oping a data logging system to take flight. 1) Adam Izsay on fire – he was “the driver of the weekend”
Xray driver Adam Izsay was “the man of the weekend” as Marc Rheinard said in the final press conference on Sunday afternoon. The racer from Hungary had his best weekend of RC racing ever at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun, and it was very impressive to watch him on- and off the track. Izsay had signed up for the FWD class and Pro Stock before the event, and decided to also register for modified while he was already onhis way to Daun.
Adam did an amazing job all weekend long. He was TQ in FWD, the class he crowned himself already as the champion, and took the win after some very close finals with Roman Borschel. In Pro Stock, he lost some points to his championship rival Ollie Bultynck, but still managed to finish second overall. The Matrix Modified class was the cherry on the cream for Izsay, fighting with the top dogs of the sport. Adam qualified third, and took second overall. He was totally on pace with Rheinard, Orlowski, and all the others and he has set more than just an exclamation mark.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ADAM FOR THIS AMAZING WEEKEND. The “One to Watch” award he received from Scotty and Uwe was well-deserved!
I just thought that I could also run Modified because of the long time between all the heats in Daun. I was not really prepared, but I used a setup I got from the team and it worked out very good for me. I hoped to make the A-Main and then things did turn out much better than expected. It was a great experience to run on top of the modified class and I enjoyed it a lot.

2) EAM Batteries winning big in Pro Stock – can they come close to LRP in case of battery dominance?
We saw the EAM batteries from US company “EA Motorsports” in use for the first time at the ETS. The battery line from US racer Eric Anderson is now officially avaiable in europe and teammanager Max Mächler has already found some ver good drivers using them in their cars. Awesomatix racer and Pro Stock championship contender Ollie Bultynck was rocking the EAM 5000mAh pack and was able to TQ and win the race in front of Adam Izsay (Nosram), and Lukas Ellerbrock (LRP). A perfect debut for EAM!
I really like my EAM batteries. The power is great and I am really impressed so far. I am happy that I could win the race for all my sponsors, and especially for EAM at their first official ETS event!

It will be exciting to see how their presence will continue at the ETS beside the currently most dominant battery supplier LRP / Nosram. When looking onto the tech charts, LRP is still the dominant force in all stock classes with their 5100 battery being the most popular right now. Other companies such as Gens Ace, Ruddog, Orca, Intellect, EZ-Power, and others, are fighting for the other pieces of the battery cake.
3) Under the Hood “IN MOTION” – amazing stuff from RC Racing TV
The crew from RC Racint TV around Mat McCallum came around with a nice idea at ETS Rd5 in Daun. “Let`s do some Under the Hood stuff with the camera, like short video clips” was what Mat said. The media team was right on it and they produced some veeery cool “Under the Hood IN MOTION” viedos from the Yokomo BD12 of Christopher Krapp, and the Awesomatix A800R of Ollie Bultynck.
What was kind of a first try turned out into something amazing. We will do more videos like these in the future and we can already post some more of them in the next weeks as Mat did two more recordings in Daun – be excited!
These video clips from RC Racint TV are MEGA. We already received a massive feedback and people seem to like these clips a lot. We will do more of that in the future and I am very happy that the team from RC Racing TV has many great ideas to make the coverage of the ETS even better!

4) Well deserved special award for the great “Cantina Crew”
Since two years, we are giving the “Spirit of the Event” award away at every ETS. This time, the crew from the cantina received it. The cantina in Daun was under direction of Tobias Baumbach and Jörg Buchner. In their daily life, they are co-owners of the “Hotel Villa am Rhein” in Andernach. They did such a great job with their workdays having 16 hours all the time.
It was a very exhausting few days here in Daun for my team and me. But we had so many great conversations and met so many friends that the days flew by. We’ll be back again for the EOS – let’s go!

Almost every racer who posted a summary of the event on social media thanked them as well for their hard work which clearly shows that the ETS racers were appreciating what they did. 5) Ratheisky family winning the most trophies 🙂
Jan Ratheisky is colloecing trophies since many years – that`s nothing new 🙂 But since two years, he is visiting most of our races with his entire family. His wife Svantje, his daughter Emely, his son Marlon, and his father Kai Asmer had been in Daun and they really worked together as a team. It is cool to see three generations racing together and Marlon and Emely are improving race by race.
This time, Jan received three trophy plates for his F1, Pro Stock, and Modified results. Svantje won her D-Main in the Orca 21.5 Stock class, Emely took the win in the D-Main of the ToniSport Formula class, and Marlon won the Formula E-Main. That`s a total of SIX trophies for the Ratheisky family – isn`t that cool? We like to say THANK YOU to the Ratheisky family for supporting the ETS in a great way – see you soon!
