With lots of excitement, we can confirm that multiple IFMAR world champion, four-time TITC winner, and RC super star, Atsushi Hara from Japan, will race with us at the season opener in Apeldoorn. Atsushi is an absolute legend of our sport and has won almost every big race during his carreer. He will race more frequently again after havig stepped backwards a bit during the last couple of years. We had a quick chat with him today and could already feel Atsushi`s excitement:

Hello everyone. I am doing fine and I am super happy to be able to come to the ETS in the Netherlands. It is absoluteley crazy how happy I am😆
Many of our younger racers have never seen you racing at the ETS.When have you been racing with us for the last time?
Man that was quite a long time ago – unfortunateley. I think the last time I attended an ETS race was at the last round of the 2016 season in the Hudy Arena. It really is long time ago so even better that I can make a little comeback in europe!
What are you looking for the most when coming over to Europe?
I am looking forward to see the Rheinard family again who organizes the ETS. I have been like family with them for a long time. They have always supported me, and now it is my turn to give something back in returning to an ETS race. I am not a professional RC racer like I used to be in the past, so my main goal is to please my friends and fans by participating. It will be great fun for sure!
Which car and electronics will you run in Apeldoorn?
I am currently in a cooperative relationship with ToniSport, so I want to use the same cars as Marc (Awesomatix). I will use the new brand “Cayote” for electronics which is a new ESC and Motor brand launched by the famous Oscar Jansen. I have known him for a long time and hope to build this brand together with him!

As the new season is coming closer we like to give a quick update on the ToniSport Formula class where we have decided some changes in the rules. The Formula class had a strong showing last year with the number of entries increasing after the class had some seasons with a lower attendance for several reasons!
Matrix Tires in use
The new season will see the Formula cars rolling out of the pit lane on Matrix foam tires. The decision was made due to a perfect supply chain from Matrix and also because we know about the quality and performance of the tires. The Matrix tires in use will be 50 shore in the front and 35 in the rear and we will have these in use at our asphalt and carpet races!

The front tire will be the Matrix 50 Shore foam tire (10A50F1) which is ready to use out of the packaging!
Mon-Tech Bodyshells topping the F1 cars in Season #17
On the side of bodyshells we made a decision “from racers for racers”. After we talked to many drivers in the pits, we noticed, that for example the Gonzo bodyshell is not available to the public frequently in hobbyshops. But as the Gonzo is a very fast body (especially outdoors), we thought about it and came to the cunclusion to change our F1 bodyshell rules which had been wide open in the last years.
It is always our goal to make life kind of easy for our racers – especially in the non professional classes of the ETS. A main aspect is the availability of products. We do not want somebody having an advantege over others just because of a body which nobody else can buy.
Therefore we made it simple for ETS Season #17 2023/24. You can either run the Mon-Tech F22 or the Mon-Tech F23 bodyshell – and nothing else!
We know that (almost) all Formula racers have these bodyshelly on hand as their number one alternative to the Gonzo body and that made our decision easy. The availability of the F22 and F23 is also ensured and we are sure that this rule change is a good one.
Racers are still allowed to use all front and rear wings which are available to the market for now!
A new Hobbywing software is in the making. The Software will not change in terms of power and driveability. We just want to get out all the unneccessary modes and things which drivers don`t need to set and change all the time. The new software will not have many setting options anymore but it will feature the perfect settings for sure.
We will have it ready for the start of the new season and you can get your ESC updated by Hobbywings tech support expert Michal Milanowicz who will be in Apeldoorn. We will check that every driver will get his speedo updated before we start racing. You can now go for practice with your current stuff and we let you know as soon as we are ready!

The new ETS Season is already waiting for you and we know that you have already started to prepare your stuff for asphalt racing. We will kick off Season #17 at the fantastic venue of the AMCA Apeldoorn and the preperations for the new campaign are already in full swing!
We like to inform you about the actual body shell list for all our touring car classes, and the FWD class. The rules have not changed and we are happy that this system is working well since two years now. As you should never change a running system, the body shell list is almost completed and we are only missing some soon to be released (TBA) bodies only.
ZooRacing has exchanged the famous Gorilla into the new Gorilla MAX body for the FWD class. They will stick with the very dominant Wolverine MAX in the stock touring car classes while they have also listed the GOAT for Modified and Pro Stock as well. One new body shell for Pro Stock and Modified will follow from ZooRacing later during the season!
The Italian company will stay with the famous Twister and Twister Speciale bodies and also the Red Hawk for Pro Stock and Modified. Xtreme has deleted the Red Hawk and added the Twister for the 21.5 Stock and 40+ Masters class – maybe a great alternative for several tracks. The Italia will be the FWD body of choice for the new season from Xtreme Aerodynamics!
BLITZ has listed the TCN and CLA bodies from last season in Pro Stock and Modified again. They have also added their brand new top product, the TCN-S body for all touring car classes. In the FWD class, BLITZ will once again rock the well-kown and much approved YRS body shell!
No changes from Bittydesign. They have listed the race winning CA45 body for the FWD class while they stick with the Eptron, Hyper-HR, and M410 in the ETS rouring car classes for Season #17. All Bittydesign users can keep their bodies as they are now – a great fact!
The Italian body shell producer is going into the season with the Zero2 and Evo2 for Pro Stock and Modified, and they will release a new body shell soon which they will list for 21.5 Stock and 40+ Masters as soon as it`s ready. For FWD, the Civic will be on the line again for Mon-Tech!
Having jumped onto the ETS train last year, Lens Bodies has added the Ghibli 2.0 to their lineup of bodies along the first version of the Ghibli body shell. As Lens Bodies does not have an FWD shell in their range of products for now, this section stays empty!
New on the market in 1:10 scale racing, PIPaero listed the e-TCR24 FWD body for ETS Season #17. A touring car body is in the making and willbe added to the list very soon – stay tuned!
Protoform
Due to the poor availability of Protoform body shells in europe (since Protoform got bought from Horizon Hobbys) and the very high price point (when a body is available), Protoform body shells are not listed anymore for the new season. We think that everybody should have the chance to buy the listed body shells to race them at the ETS and we don`t want to support a body shell which is only available when spending 45€ or more. We are sorry about this, especially for Protoform, but we had to decide it this way!

Your 1:10 touring car fits perfectly in the bag with bodywork and mounted tires, but also without. The sturdy carrying handle ensures that the bag always sits comfortably in your hand, and the red straps on the zippers make it easy to open and close the bag
There is an elastic strap on the back of the bag to attach the bag to another piece of luggage (e.g. the handle of a trolley case). This is a very convenient feature, especially when traveling, and makes the MR33 touring car bag the perfect travel companion. There is also a practical mesh pocket on the inside back of the lid for storing flat items and documents.
Team Yokomo has posted the first pictures of their new MS1.0 touring car. Further details will follow very soon and the car should be available at the end of April. The Yokomo factory team will use the new car at all major events around the world in 2024 including the IFMAR worlds at Finishline Rc Raceway in Bakersfield (USA) in November.
It was already the SIXTEENTH season of the Euro Touring Series which came to an end and which is done and dusted now. We had six amazing races and the highest average of racers attending the races (248 per race) since 5 or 6 years. Also at the last round of Season #16 there had been 5 things which we learned and noticed and here they are….

1) The job of the 1. MRC Wiener Neustadt was OUTSTANDING
Organizing an ETS event is a lot of work.! Well, that is nothing new and we have seen so many great races over the last 16 seasons. All the clubs which organized ETS races with us in the past have worked hard for the best possible outcome and we are proud of each and every race we had in all these years. Last weekend it was the 1.MRC Wiener Neustadt with the team around Sascha Klug who was in charge to make sure everybody was having a good time. And what a hell of a job they did. It was also very nice that the “Bürgermeister” of the city, Klaus Schneeberger, joined us on Friday evening to see what the ETS is all about!
There was no single negative word about something all weekend long. As we arrived on Monday to start setting everythign up, the first helpers had already been waiting to unload the truck. The whole team worked togehter super good and it was a breeze to transform the empty hall 3 of Arena Nova into a paradise for all ETS enthusiasts.
Also on the side of food and drinks there was nothing to complain about. The food was amazing all the time as it was fresh and veryyyy tasty. There had been good coffee machines in use and the BWT water dispensers worked fine too. One of the highlights was the drivers dinner on Froday evening which the club organized as well – it was just fantastic and we didn`t have had this since many years!
A lot of drivers said that it was “the best indoor ETS event they have ever attended” and this was probably the best compliments the club could get for all their hard work! THANK YOU 1.MRC WIENER NEUSTADT
2) We have crowned six well-deserved champions at Arena Nova in Wiener Neustadt
All our champions received their trophies and many congratulations during the trophy ceremony on Sunday. There is not a lot to say about them as everybody has worked so hard throughout the season to take the nice trophy and the honours back home!
Michal Orlowski – the champion was in a class of his own in the Matrix Modified class
Michal Orlowski won four out of four races and three of them from pole position. We have not seen such a dominant champion in some years after Bruno Coehlo or Ronald Völker had been on a roll at the ETS. Congratulations to Michal Orlowski, Schumacher Racing, and the whole team behind him!
Olivier Bultynck – worked hard and was fighting for the Pro Stock title like a lion
Ollie Bultynck had a great season with his Awesomatix A800R. He was able to win two races and finished also two times in second place. It was a thrilling showdown with him (1206 points) , his teammate Lukas Ellerbrock (1205), and Xray`s Adam Izsay (1205) until the very end. Thank you guys for these great races all season long and congratulations to Ollie Bultynck and his team for winning the Pro Stock title!
Adam Izsay – a true master of the Hobbywing FWD class
Nobody was able to keep up with the pace of Adam Izsay this season. After Stefan Schulz won the prestigious FWD title in the last two years, it was Adam Izsay who made it three consecutive titles for Xray. Adam won four races from TQ and scored the magic number of 1212 points – it doesn`t get any better than this!
Michel Zierold – mister BOOM RC wins the 1up Racing 40+ Masters title
Awesomatix driver and Boom RC founder Michel Zierold is the champion of the hard-fought 1up Racing 40+ Masters class. Michel Zierold was scoring constant points all season long with two third places, one second place, and one race win (RD2 in Aigen). Michel was very happy when he lifted up the trophy for which he printed the plastic stands by himself 🙂 Thank you Michel, and congratulations for winning the 40+ Masters title!
Tristan Bergheim – drove a strong final race and was holding off quick Phil Langner
The Orca 21.5 Stock class was a nice and fair fight between champion Tristan Bergheim and his strong challenger Phil Langner. Tristan had the better ending for himself when he drove to TQ and victory in Wiener Neustadt. With three race wins, two second places, and one third place, he was on the podium at every race and is a well-deserved champion. Congratulations to Tristan and his dad for getting the job done!
Andreas Stiebler – the strongest force in Formula racing since two years
Andreas Stiebler defenden his championship title from last season. His competitors had been fast and very strong, but Stiebler was always there when it was counting. The Schumacher driver scored 1211 amazing points when he won four races of the season (three from pole position). Let`s see if anybody can beat him in Season #17!
3) Tim Benson is a “Beast” in creating and building amazing racetracks and made his masterpiece at Arena Nova
Tim Benson is well-known for always being fast on track and for always having a casual saying on his lips. But since a couple of years he is also famous for the fantastic carpet tracks he is able to build. He did it for the first time when the ETS stopped in teh city of Neumünster in 2021 where drivers fell in love with his track layout.
After creating more great layouts for the ETS races in Daun and Hann. Münden, Tim Benson knocked it out of the park once more and made the track for the season finale at Arena Nova possibly the “best ever ETS carpet track”. Together with all the helping hands from the local club and the ETS crew the track looked just fantastic with all the green carpet inlays, the full flag banners all around, and the super cool layout Tim had drawn.
By the way: beside building the track, Tim was also super successful at the weekend where he finished 2nd in the Awesomatix pro Stock class and 11th in the Matrix Modified A-Main. Congratulations Tim and once again THANK YOU for doing this great job for us in Wiener Neustadt. The whole ETS family appreciates it a lot!
4) Harley Eldridge made history and was the driver of the weekend
Xray racer Harley Eldridge was the driver of the weekend as she wrote history. After some great runs, she qualified herself straight into the Modified A-Main and became the first famle racer to ever achieve this in the history of the Euro Touring Series. Well done Harley! She worked hard for this in the past years together with her dad and it was finally paying off at the ETS in Austria. Harley also received the “One to Watch” award from Uwe Rheinard and Scotty Ernst during the tropy ceremony!
As I came here I was aiming for a solid B-Main result. But to make it into the A-Main with a P5 and P6 in qualifying is just fantastic and I am super happy and proud about it.

5) We saw many “first timers” in Austria which was just fantastic
Another thing which wa samazing to see was that almost 30 drivers attended their first ETS at Arena Nova in Austria. We saw many “first timers” from Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, and also from Macau. We are super happy that more and more people want to join our events and we hope that all these drivers felt welcome in the middle of the ETS family. Thank you all for coming and being a part of this amazing season finale at Arena Nova in Wiener Neustadt – you rock!
A2 – Michal Orlowski is the newly crowned champion of the ETS Matrix Modified class. Orlowski did not look back in A2 and drove dominant like he did all season long. The Schumacher lead driver crossed the finish line under a huge applause of the audience and celebrated his victory with a loud scream and the trophy on the driver stand. Orlowski is a well-deserved champion as he won all four races which he attended this season without having any kind of throw out result.
It was a long journey for Orlowski who raced at the ETS the first time as a young kid in 2009 where he won the championship in the hobby class while one of his idols, Marc Rheinard, won the modified title. After the race Michal said:
“It is a very emotional day for me. It means a lot to win this title and I like to thank all my supporters and sponsors who are trusting in me. I like to thank everybody at Schumacher racing, my mechanic and friend Mattia Collina, our car designer Andy Murray, mister Niko who came here to watch and who was my first sponsor back in the day – and finally I like to thank my dad for EVERYTHING. Another shoutout goes to Uwe and Scotty and the whole ETS for giving me the opportunity to race at this big stage all the time!”

Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) finished second again behind race winner Orlowski – it was the maximum he could do against an “unbeatable Orlowski”. Simon Lauter (Awesomatix), Alexander Hagberg (Xray), and Harley Eldridge (Xray) completed the top 5 in A2.
A3 – Lucas Urbain took the win in the last A-Main and was followed by a superb driving Simon Lauter who defended his place against Alexander Hagberg, Harley Eldridge, and Jan Ratheisky. With the results from A3, Lucas Urbain and Simon Lauter joined race winner Michal Orlowski on the podium here at the season finale in Wiener Neustadt!
Bultynck wins his first ETS championship title and the third in a row for Awesomatix. Ellerbrock takes the victory at the last race of the season!
A2 – Lukas Ellerbrock (Awesomatix)had another brilliant drive in A2 and sealed the overall victory right before the last final of the day. Second place starter Tim Benson (Awesomatix) lost two positions in the race and allowed Mattia Collina (Schumacher) and Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) to go by. Stefan Schulz took 5th place from the second Pro Stock final. With the race win already decided, all eyes had been on the championship decision between Izsay and Bultynck for A3. Bultynck had the best cards in his hands but as a lot can happen in racing it went down to the line in the last final of the season!
A3 – Tim Benson took full advantage of the clen track in front of him and took the win in A3 from Stefan Schulz and Mattia Collina. With The results from A3 Benson and Collina secured their spot on the podium with Stefan Schulz taking fourth spot and our new ETS Pro Stock Champion Ollie Bultynck in fifth spot.
Izsay wins season finale at Arena Nova ahead of Reile and Stankowitz and crowns a great FWD season
A2 – Adam Izsay brought a fantastic season to an end with another race win in the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. The Xray driver had a three second advantage over second placed Manuel Stankowitz (Iris) while second place starter Dominik Reile got taken out with a hard move from the car behind and dropped back at the beginning of the race. Yokomo`s Frederik Hovgaard had a great drive from sixth on the grid to 3rd place and he was followed by Mark Valent and Marcus van Elling who made it into the top 5.
A3 – Dominik Reile took the win in A3 to secure second overall. Manuel Stankowitz finished second which brought him on to third place overall on the podium in Wiener Neustadt. Marcus van Elling took third lace in the last final and finished fifth overall behind Gergö Valent.

Zierold succeeds Stankowitz and is the new 40+ Masters Champion
A2 – The second A-Main was in the hands of David Ehrbar again. He drove to an unchallenged victory and was followed by René Kölbel and Michel Zierold. They had a great and close fight for second place on track with the better ending for Kölbel. Manuel Stankowitz and Ulrich Dinger finished behind the top three and the last final of the season was the decider for the championship between Kölbel and Zierold.
A3 – René Kölbel won the last final of the season in front of Michel Zierlod. They will step onto the podium beside race winner David Ehrbar, and the third place from Zierold was enough for him to win the overall championship of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class. Zierold had a very good season, was scoring consistent points, and is a well-deserved champion of this class. René Kölbel is our vice-champion and Mirco Thalheimer finished his season third overall. Congratulations guys!

Bergheim is the first 21.5 Stock champion at the ETS
A2 – Tristan Bergheim has put the icing on the cake as he won the second final and the overall championship of the Orca 21.5 Stock class here at Arena Nova in Austria. The German had to survive a tough moment when he was hitting the boards in the infield allowing his championship contender Phil Langner to close in. But somehow, Bergheim could defend his position and took a well-deserved win away from the ETS season finale. Phil Langner never backed off and tried all he could but in the end the title went to Bergheim, with Langer in second overall. Jaroslav Kriz, Jan Gehrig, and Nadine Zühlke completed the top 5 in A2.
A3 – Jaroslav Kriz won the last A-Main from first place on the grid as champion Bergheim watched the race on site. Kriz had a strong drive and won by 2.3 seconds from Nadine Zühlke and Jan Gehrig. The overall race result saw Tristan Bergheim on top of the podium flanked by Jaroslav Kriz and vice-champion Phil Langner.

Champion Stiebler brings an amazing season to a close with another victory in Austria
A2 – Andreas Stiebler did not slow down and won the second A-Main and the race in his home country. He was the dominant driver in this season and is the actual benchmark in Formula racing. David Ehrbar, Jan Ratheisky, Robert Kampehl, and Michal Wojcik rounded out the top five.
A3 – With Stiebler watching from the side-line, David Ehrbar took the win in A3 to secure second place overall. He was followed by his Xray teammate Jan Ratheisky, Mathias Domig, and Michael Lipperheide. The podium saw Stiebler on top for Schumacher with Ehrbar and Ratheisky taking second and third for Xray.
Winner B-Main: René Kölbel (AT) Winner C-Main: Andreas Kalker (DE)
We like to congratulate all champions, race winners, and everybody who joined us during ETS Season #16 2023/24. Thank you for your support and we will see us again in June at the start of Season #17 in the Netherlands!
Michal Orlowski took the win in the opening A-Main at Arena Nova. Orlowski had a good start of the line and Lucas Urbain was staying in striking distance. But as much Urbain pushed his Awesomatix car around the track, there was no chance to come closer to the Schumacher of Orlowski. Urbain said after the race that “he (Orlowski) is just flying around the track” and that he was “ok” with finishing second behind Orlowski.
When our media team talked to Orlowski after A1 he mentioned that “we have found some issues on the car before the run and had to replace bearings and a not 100% tightened outdrive. I take it on me as I was not checking the car good enough but luckily Mattia (Collina) noticed it and we had been able to sort things out”.
Simon Lauter had a lonely race on P3, the same as Alexander Hagberg who finished the race in fourth place ahead of Marc Rheinard and Harley Eldridge. Michal Orloswki is only one more win away from his long-awaited ETS title and at the moment there is no doubt that he will win it on Sunday at Arena Nova.
Lukas Ellerbrock had a great start from his TQ spot and converted it into a hard-fought A1 victory against Tim Benson. Behind the top two, we saw many close battles on track. Stefan Schulz had a good time with Mattia Collina and Adam Izsay was pushing Ollie Bultynck around the track. Somehow, Izsay found his way by Bultynck who dropped back to ninth place after a unfortunate contact with Izsay. With two more finals to come we are excited for the final results in the Awesomatix Pro Stock class.
TQ Adam Izsay left no doubt about his great season performance when he drove to a dominant win in the first final of the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. Behind Izsay we saw a really nice battle between Dominik Reile and Gergö Valent which had the better ending for Valent after several contacts. Marcus van Elling and Manuel Stankowitz crossed the line in fourth and fifth position after the 5-minute A-Main.
Kölbel and Zierold taking 2nd and 3rd behind A1 winner Ehrbar
René Kölbel and Michel Zierold had the closest battle on track in A1 of the 40+ Masters class. It took Zierold some time to close in on Kölbel but he was close enough to ride an attack in the last lap – which was not successful in the end. Top qualifier David Ehrbar won the race in a dominant way with his Xray car and was followed Kölbel, Zierold, Stankowitz, and Dinger.
Bergheim on the way to the title as he takes A1 from Langner
Tristan Bergheim was in control of A1 on Saturday evening here at Arena Nova. Bergheim only had to survive a nice and smooth roll over in lap 8 when he was steering too much when riding the curb at the end of the straight. Luckily, he landed rubber side down and could continue his race. Phil Langner was earning the second place in the last lap after Kriz and Zsolt collided on the right side of the track.
The first Formula A-Main saw TQ Andreas Stiebler taking the win in front of David Ehrbar. The Xray driver was about to close the gap to the Schumacher car of Stiebler but small mistakes here and there kept the gap at the same level all the time. Stiebler crossed the line in front of David Ehrbar, Jan Ratheisky, Robert Kampehl, and Adam Southgate.
ARC has released their new A10-25 touring car a couple of days ago. We have it here at the ETS and Henrik Heitsch qualified the new car into the Pro Stock A-Main (P8 on the grid) while his team mate Torsten Baggendorf achieved the same (P6 on the grid) great result in the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class – a great debut for the new ARC car. We had a chance to top off the Wolverine bodyshell of Torsten Baggendorf`s car which is equipped with the ORCA ETS ESC and Motor, a LRp 5100 battery, and a PowerHD servo. The car is also equipped with aluminim lower shock mounts, a split topdeck, low friction drive belts, and a set of Team Titan titanium screws!
