Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker is the top seed after two rounds of controlled practice in Daun. It was a very close affair between many top drivers at the front and it will be Michal Orlowski starting second for Schumacher, followed by the Awesomatix duo of Marc Rheinard and David Ronnefalk.

Benson fastest in ProStock with Lauter sitting second after seeding practice

Tim Benson is top seed at the ETS season final race in Daun. He posted the two fastest consecutive laps in the first seeding round, while Lauter, Bultynck, and Pietsch all improved their results in the second session. But with the top ten only separated by 0,2 seconds (!), it is hard to pick a clear favorite for qualifying. Let`s see who will have the best 5-minute pace at the Sporthotel Grafenwald!

The Top 5 after controlled practice (2 consecutive laps)

1. Tim Benson (DE) 32.966 (Awesomatix/Ruddog)

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Schulz heading in direction championship while Olsen struggles with his own pace

The Hobbywing Frontwheel class is under control of defending champion Stefan Schulz. He will start into qualifying with a clean track in front of him. The top 25 drivers had been very close in seeding practice, only separated by one second. Meik Niemann and Roman Borschel will be the guys chasing Schulz in Q1 and we are excited about the outcome of FWD qualifying here in Daun. Steven Olsen needs to find some pace if he still wants a chance to fight for the overall title with Schulz as he is only sitting 10th right now.

The Top 5 after controlled practice (2 consecutive laps)

1. Stefan Schulz (DE) 39.881 (Xray)
2. Meik Niemann (DE) 39.949 (Awesomatix)

Orca 17.5 Stock

Schmid to start first into qualifying while Reile and Donath dropping down to P4 and P5 at the end of seeding practice

The second round of seeding practice mixed up the field a little bit when Kevin Schmid, Roman Borschel, and Henrik Heitsch took positions one, two, and three. It was just seeding practice and the drivers had been very close on the two fastest laps, but it was interesting to see that a lot of drivers are on a great pace. We are not expecting an easy race for Reile and Donath in the fight for the overall championship!

The Top 5 after controlled practice (2 consecutive laps)

1. Kevin Schmid (DE) 34.829 (Awesomatix)
2. Roman Borschel (DE) 34.981 (Awesomatix)
3. Henrik Heitsch (DE) 35.090 (ARC)

5. Jasmin Donath (DE) 35.240 (Awesomatix)

ToniSport 40+ Master

Zierold, Myrberg, and Baggendorf outpacing championship contenders Stankowitz and Mateo at ETS RD6 in Germany

The seeding practice in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class saw Michel Zierold on top of the board. He was the fastest driver on track, with Andreas Myrberg, and Torsten Baggwendorf right in tow. Manuel Stankowitz dropped down to fourth place, and Toni Mateo was able to close his gap to Stankowitz sitting fifth. Qualifying will be up next and everybody must go “all in” for a good place on the grid. The gap between the top 5 was just about 0.2 seconds in two laps which is not a lot for sure!

ETS Free Practice Report RD6 Season #15 2022/23

0

The season finale of ETS Season #15 2022/23 is rolling here in Daun this weekend, and after four rounds of free practice on Thursday, we have a first idea of the direction we are heading into!
The carpet track was built under the lead of ETS racer Tim Benson again (same as at RD5), and the layout (drawn by Oli Meggitt) received a lot of compliments. The crew did an amazing job as it was a lot of work to lay down the racing carpet perfectly in the tennis sports hall. The ETS likes to shout out a huge THANK YOU to Tim Benson and his team!
The colour of the carpet is a little different this time, as the carpet supplier was not able to provide us the famous “black ETS carpet”. However, the greyish carpet is working very well too, and nobody had anything to complain at the first day of the fully booked event. Let`s talk about drivers’ performances on track at the ETS Season finale!

Big surprise as Kretschmer comes out of practice on top of the field in front of Lauter and Ellerbrock

Reigning champion Simon Lauter was right behind him in second place, followed by his Awesomatix teammate Lukas Ellerbrock and Oliver Krähemann. Hobbywing Frontwheel

Very dominant Schulz far ahead of competition during free practice, Olsen only eight for the day

Stefan Schulz showed that he “wants this title” during free practice in the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. He was 1 second (!) faster over his three consecutive laps compared to everybody else – what an incredible gap! Behind Schulz, a group of 15 drivers followed within another second. Sebastian Meibörg was leading the pack behind Schulz in second place, only some hundreds of a second from Caspar Morgen and Sören Sparbier. Track Check presented by RC Maker

Check our little video tour through the sports hall in Daun to see the track and the huge pit area. The carpet track was built under the lead of ETS racer Tim Benson again (same as in Hann. Münden at RD5), and the layout only got compliments until now. The crew did an amazing job as it was a lot of work to lay down the racing carpet perfectly in the tennis sports hall. The ETS likes to shout out a huge THANK YOU to Tim Benson and his team!

Let`s talk about drivers’ performances on track at the ETS Season finale!

Let`s go racing

We are looking forward to a great race in Daun, and everything is set to go. We will crown 6 ETS champions on Sunday, but it is still a long way to go for the title contenders to bring home the big trophy. Enjoy the weekend and follow our race reports on ets.racing!
