Dear ETS Family,
on February 13th, we have announced to use Hobbywing combos in all ETS stock touring car classes from the start of the new season. Since then, we have worked very close with Hobbywing to come out with the best possible solution regarding hardware and software!
Today we like to give you a quick update before the new stuff will arrive at ToniSport. But ahead of it, we like to point out once more that the motors and speedos for the FWD and Formula classes will remain unchanged for ETS Season #18 2025/26.
Availability
Hobbywing is going to ship the goods in the next days and we guess that everything will arrive in europe within the next 10-14 days. Then we hope for a quick customs process as this can somethimes delay things a bit and is out of our own reach!
However, we are pretty sure to have the products available at ToniSport until approximateley April 20th, 2025. That means that all of you can get their hands onto the new motors and ESC`s ahead of time to mount it properly in your cars and to test everything on track.
Speed Controller
The speed controller of choice for the future is the Hobbywing Xerun XR10 Stock Spec G2 ESC. The speedo will have three laser engravements on the case. Two of them will be on the sides and another small one directly beside the power switch (picture below does not show the engravements).
The ESC will come with pre-soldered black wires and capacitor alowing him to get installed quickly. The small case dimensions of only 34.8x30x13.8mm will make it a perfect fit into every modern 1:10 scale touring car.

Softwares for Pro Stock, 40+ Masters and 21.5 Stock
We are still in the final stages of testing the softwares but we are optimistic that everything will work fine once the softwares will get officially released. We have removed some unneccessary parameters and the only values you will be able to adjust are Cutoff Voltage, ESC Thermal Protection, Motor Thermal Protection, Throttle Rate Control, Initial Throttle Force, RPM Limit, Drag Brake Force, Drag Brake Rate, Brake Rate Control, and Brake Frequency.
In the past we had the Orca ESC available in a 17.5T and 21.5T version which differed from each other only by different software. To ensure a better and more consistant product availability, we will only have one ETS stock touring car ESC from now on. The software for the ETS is available when using the Hobbywing OTA programmer or the LCD programme box (after updating).
Every racer will need to install the correct software and RPM limiter on his own responsibility. However, we will check all ESC`s on Thursday at the season opener in Apeldoorn.
The new Hobbywing ETS software features the option of getting set in the RPM limiter for either the Pro Stock or 21.5 Stock classes. Depending on the RPM limiter selected, a different blink code on the ESC will provide a simple and transparent control option.
In order to be able to use the ESC outside the ETS in Boost 0 Blinky classes, it is also possible to switch off the RPM limiter – with having another different blink code. Overall, this solution will make the lives of racers, hobby shops, and the ETS Orga team easier for the future and we are already looking forward to it!
Motors
We have chosen the G4R Motors from Hobbywing with 17.5T for Pro Stock, and 21.5T for 40+ Masters and 21.5 Stock. All motors will come with a fixed timing endbell and ETS laser engravements for easy identification. The motors from the official ETS handout motor pool will also get their screws marked (as opening of the case is strictly forbidden), and a number sticker. So basically, we will stick to our well-proven motor concept from the past.
