ETS Preview (Part 1) RD1 Season #14 2021/22 Andernach, GER

The magic of ETS!

The ETS is called the most prestigious 1:10 scale electric onroad racing series in the world. With this weekend’s RD1 in Andernach, we are heading into season #14 which is an amazing achievement for any RC racing series on the planet. The Series was launched in 2008 by Uwe Rheinard and Scotty Ernst, building up on the Team Orion Speed Weekend which was really famous back in these days.

During the seasons the ETS was growing all the time and we saw fantastic races at different tracks all around Europe. Champions like Groskamp, Rheinard, Volker, Coelho, Ratheisky, Cerny, Lauter and many others were crowned, and the ETS Family became something really special in the world of RC racing.

Attending a race of the Euro Turing Series is always something special and on the “Bucket List” of almost every 1:10 scale electric onroad racer around the globe. It is the platform for everybody, and drivers get the chance to compete against the best in the world at the same weekend on the same track – something only RC racing provides!

As people say the atmosphere at the ETS is “MAGIC”!

The longest season ever

Season #13 started in October 2019 at the nice toy fair in Vienna, and continued in February 2020 in Daun where the ETS is racing at the Sporthotel Grafenwald since a couple of years now.

In March, the Covid-19 pandemic came out of nowhere and nobody ever had a situation like this in mind. We saw a lot of cancelled races, and for a while the world of RC racing had fallen asleep.

Season #13 2019/20 was the longest ETS season ever, but it only included 3 races overall with the last one taking part in September 2020 at Arena33 in Andernach. This particular race was the first event after all the major lockdowns in Europe and all racers came to Andernach with a lot of excitement. Everybody was simply thankful to finally get back into RC racing again.

The ETS crew then tried to schedule some indoor races for the end of 2020 (Berlin & Mühlheim Kärlich). As the situation was getting even more worse after a pretty relaxed summer, it finally was not possible to continue with season #13 at all. At the beginning of 2021 the longest ETS season ever was announced to be over after only 3 races in 17 months.

Season #14 – a new hope!

Due to the growing numbers of vaccinated persons the situation is improving now almost everywhere. That`s the reason why everybody is very optimistic right now. The ETS crew is looking forward to return back to normality in case of racing and the schedule for the new season. There are three outdoor races planned, followed by three carpet races when it will be allowed to host indoor events again.

The ETS crew in leadership of Uwe Rheinard and Scotty Ernst is doing everything to bring ETS racinig back to as many facilities as possible. Daily monitoring of the changing Covid-19 situations in all european countries and the communication with governments, RC clubs and ETS sponsors are the most important duties right now.

But as we know from the last 16 months – nothing seems to be really predictable and a season forecast is not easy to point out.

New Season – New Rules

Season #14 faces changes in the rules for some of the ETS classes. There will be a new Motor/Speedo Combo in use for ProStock, 17.5 Stock and 40+Masters. After a very long and successful stint with Muchmore the ETS now cooperates with ORCA and trusts in their products for the power delivery.

The tires for the touring car classes are now coming from the Italian manufacturer Matrix. In F1 we see the comeback of Ride tires. The race proven Ride FWD tires received a small update with a belt to prevent them from getting bigger in diameter during the race.

Also new is the official ETS body shell list. All ETS supporting body shell manufacturers had the chance to list their bodies of choice for the whole season, making the drivers choice of body shells easy and provident for the whole season #14 campaign.

The ETS crew decided all changes in rules to make racing more enjoyable for everybody participating at the ETS.

ETS Another location change for RD2 Season #14 2021/22

From Luxembourg to Slovakia and back to Germany

Dear ETS family,

we just informed you about the change for RD2 from the LMCC Luxmbourg to the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia. As everything was confirmed by the authorities we received another bunch of bad news, only some hours later. Due to the ongoing problems and the unsure situation with the Covid-19 Delta virus, the Slovakian administration installed a quarantine rule for everybody who wants to enter the country without being vaccinated completely.

Arena33 as last chance

Because of that, the amazing Hudy Racing Arena is not an option for RD2 in August anymore. The whole ETS crew now decided to cancel the new scheduled event and move it back to Arena33 in Andernach /GER. As we race RD1 in Andernach too, we know that this will not be the most attractive change in our schedule. But as we have everything, we need, at Arena33 it is kind of an economic decision for us as well.

We would like to point out, that we need planning security in these hard times and a change of RD2 to almost any other RC track would produce high numbers of costs. We need larger pit spaces (extra tents) to go with all Covid-19 rules and we see no permanent track being able to offer pits with 200+ places and enough space in between. In Andernach we now have the structure to comply with all Covid-19 rules in a good way and therefore we will stick with Arena33 for ETS RD2.

Racing Clockwise

To create a little bit of a “new track” for RD2 in August, we decided to run the track in the opposite direction (clockwise). That will create a new challenge for everybody and we are pretty sure that the track will be great running it clockwise as well.

We hope for your ongoing support

At this point we would like to say thank you for your understanding and we hope to welcome all of you for ETS RD2 in Andernach in August. It is amazing to see, that so many of you made their entries for RD1 and we are doing everything possible to get at least some big races organized during this summer as we don`t want to cancel out until the end of the year!

We will open the entries for RD2 very soon and we will inform you about it on time.

Thank you once again and see you soon,

Uwe, Scotty and the whole ETS crew!

No ETS racing possible in Luxembourg

Dear ETS Family,

unfortunately we received some bad news from the LMCC Luxembourg Club. Due to the actual Covid-19 restrictions in Luxembourg, their government does not allow them to host a big event like the ETS now.

The club did everything by pulling all possible strings, but in the end it was not possible to make it happen. Therefore, we have to inform you today, that ETS RD2 will not be on the fantastic track the LMCC Luxembourg from 12. – 15. August 2021.

We would like to thank everybody in the LMCC club for their hard work. The ETS will return to their great facility as soon as possible.

HUDY Racing Arena to host ETS RD2 Season#14 2021/22

Directly after receiving the news from Luxembourg, we contacted some partners and friends to quickly find a great replacement for the Luxembourg track.

The Hudy Racing Arena is well known in the world of RC racing since many years, hosting great events like ETS finals as well as European- and World – Championship races. The Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin / Slovakia is located directly on the ground of the XRAY facilities and to say it with three words – it is amazing!

With the final confirmation of the Hudy family we are now happy to announce, that ETS RD2 Season #14 2021/22 will take place at the Hudy Racing Arena from 12. – 15. August 2021. The restrictions in Slovakia allow us to bring the ETS to Trencin and everybody can register for the race pretty soon!

We hope to see all of you guys at the beautiful Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin!

ETS Rules Update Season #14 2021/22 Andernach, GER

0

Hello ETS Family,

today we like to inform you, that it is not allowed to make double entries for 40+Masters AND Stock17.5 at the same ETS event.

If we would allow that, all the double starters would have an unfair benefit because of the doubled track time as these two classes are completeley the same (only seperated by the +40 age limit).

If you want to race in two classes you can combine your 40+Masters or Stock17.5 entry with FWD, F1 or ProStock for example.

See you soon at Arena33 in Andernach

ETS Andernach – Registration Open RD1 Season #14 2021/22

Hello ETS Family,

Unfortunately, the Corona period has not allowed any meetings in the last few months, but now it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel and we can plan our summer events with more certainty. It is finally time that we can see each other again and enjoy our hobby together.
Since the corona situation in Germany is currently better than in the Netherlands, we will swap these two races on our ETS calendar. Therefore, Andernach will be our first event in July, and we plan our Apeldoorn race in September.
Here in the Mayen-Koblenz district of Germany, the incidence value is currently 12.1, which is extremely low.
Today we have here in Andernach an incidence worth with “3” !
As things stand today, our ETS event in Andernach should be able to take place on the weekend of July 18, 2021.
Please make sure, however, that you can cancel your booked accommodation at any time!
Since we don’t know how the corona rules will change before the race, we have added a button to MyRCM as a precaution. This button shows us whether you will be fully vaccinated by July 14th. Perhaps there will be a rule that vaccinated people do not have to keep a distance from one another in the paddock, for example?
So let’s all keep our fingers crossed that the current situation will not deteriorate in the next 5 weeks.

The entry for Andernach will open tomorrow,

THURSDAY 10 JUNE AT 8:00PM

There will initially be a limit of 200 entries, and after that there will be a waiting list. As soon as there is more relaxation that allows us to have more drivers, we will of course also allow more entries.

The plan is to do the event as usual, all classes at all days, no splitting.

So please get ready to make your entry, and we hope to see you in Andernach in July!

Kind regards from

Scotty, Uwe and the complete ETS team

ETS Schedule Update Season #14 2021/22

As we can begin to see a chance to get back to racing, we have been working with our venues around Europe to make a new ETS calendar.  We are now more confident we can start the season in July, in Andernach, Germany.  Looking at the rules for different countries, this gives us the best chance to start racing again!  We plan now to make our visit to Apeldoorn in the Netherlands in September.

Entries for Andernach open Thursday 10 June on MyRCM – so please get ready to make your entry and we hope to see you in Andernach!

ETS Cancelled RD1 Season #14 2021/22 Andernach, GER

0

As the current situation is improving from week to week in most of the countries here in Europe, we all are full of hope for the restart of our normal life – and RC racing as well.
But as we are still not where we like to be regarding Covid-19 infections and country regulations, we have to inform you today that we cannot start into the new ETS season as we had planned from 10th to 13th of June at Arena33 in Andernach /Germany.

There are still too many unclear factors for us at the moment as for example we don`t know when hotels will be allowed to open up again and when it will be possible to organize events in the size we need to run a great ETS race with all of you.

We are sure that you want to race as soon as possible just like we do – and we will give our very best to make it happen when everything allows us to do what we love the most.
