Under the Hood – Enrico Jung`s Yokomo BD12

Yokomo factory driver Enrico Jung is running the actual BD12 touring car here in Aigen. His car is equipped with RC Maker topdecks, and a 3D printed bumper from BoomRC. In case of screws, Enrico trusts in a set of titanium screws from T-Work`s. The rest of his car is almost as it came out of the box.
A servo from MiBo is responsible for the steering, while Gens Ace batteries are powering the Orca ETS combo. Enrico topped his car with a Wolverine Max body shell from ZooRacing in the 0.5mm Lightweight version.

Mugen Seiki 1-2 with Völker leading from Dankel after free practice in Austria

Free practice in Aigen-Schlägl

After five rounds, the free Thursday practice in Aigen is done and the drivers are enjoying the BBQ party beside the track. Most of the day, the sky was cloudy and there was no direct sun shining onto the tarmac. Tomorrow we will see the seeding practice going on, followed by the first round of qualifying in the afternoon. The weather forecast looks “ok” with a little risk for rain showers here and there.

Matrix Modified

Mugen Seiki, Awesomatix, and Yokomo – the top 3 teams on Thursday

The Matrix Modified class saw Mugen drivers Ronald Völker and Eric Dankel doing well as they both topped Thursday practice here at ETS RD2 in Aigen-Schlägl. Völker and Dankel both posted their fastest laps in the last round of practice, while third placed Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) had his best run in the fourth round a little earlier. The Yokomo duo of Yannic Prümper and Christopher Krapp took fourth and fifth for the day.

Völker`s gap to Dankel was at 0.362 of a second. The Mugen duo then had another gap of almost six tenths of a second to the rest of the field. It seems that their MTC2R is working really well here in Aigen, but we can be sure that the Awesomatix and Yokomo teams will try everything to come closer again in tomorrows practice and qualifying runs. It is game on in the Matrix Modified class at ETS RD2.

Awesomatix ProStock

Izsay far ahead after day one in Aigen-Schlägl

In the Awesomatix ProStock class, Adam Izsay (Xray) had a ballistic run in the fourth round of practice. With his fastest 3 consecutive laps being seven tenths (!) quicker than the rest of the pack, he gave everybody a lot to think about until tomorrow. Yokomo`s Dominic Vogl was second fastest behind Izsay, followed by his Yokomo teammate Enrico Jung, Awesomatix driver Lukas Ellerbrock, and Xray`s Stefan Schulz.

1up Racing 40+ Masters

Last heat of the day seeing Zierold on top of the board

Michel Zierold finished on top of the 1up 40+ Masters field of drivers here at day one. But with Mirco Thalheimer and René Kölbel both on a very similar pace (top three separated by only 0.037) the fight for pole position will be a thriller for sure. Torsten Baggendorf and Ronald Arts completed the top 5 and will try to improve tomorrow in the same way as all the other experienced racers in this class.

The Top 5 after Thursday practice (over 3 consecutive laps)

1. Michel Zierold (DE) 59.561 Awesomatix

Orca 21.5 Stock

Pöhlmann tops free practice from a very impressive Langner and Bergheim in Aigen-Schlägl

In the Orca 21.5 Stock class, Daniel Pöhlmann was the fastest racer on Thursday. He topped the time sheets in front of a great driving Phil Langner, and Apeldoorn race winner Tristan Bergheim. Pöhlmanns gap to Langner was half a second over three laps, and he looked very comfortable out there. Young Phil Langner showed a great pace as he improved a lot throughout the day.

Tristan Bergheim, the race winner from RD1 in Apeldoorn, finished third for the day in front of Simeon Seis and Jan Gehrig. From what we have seen today, we expect the race in the Orca 21.5 Stock class to be very close as many drivers had been on a similar pace. But can anybody stop Daniel Pöhlmann?

The Top 5 after Thursday practice (over 3 consecutive laps)

1.  Daniel Pöhlmann (DE) 59.723 Awesomatix
2.  Phil Langner (DE) 1:01.293 Awesomatix

ToniSport Formula

Strong first day for reigning ETS champion Stiebler

Andreas Stiebler had a very solid day of practice in Aigen-Schlägl. He outpaced his competitors by almost one second over the fastest three laps which was really impressive to see. René Kölbel was second fastest, ahead of his Xray teammates David Ehrbar, Luka Jovicic, and Balint Rajki. Tomorrow we will see, if anybody can challenge the dominant looking Andreas Stiebler when we head into qualifying.

The Top 5 after Thursday practice (over 3 consecutive laps)

1. Andreas Stiebler (AT) 55.766 Schumacher
2. Renè Kölbel (AT) 56.661 Xray
3. David Ehrbar (AT) 56.661 Xray

Last year`s track walk @ MAV Aigen Schlägl

If you have missed last year`s track walk video with Oli Meggitt and Patrick Beck, you can watch it now to learn something about the amazing racetrack in Aigen-Schlägl. The track is challenging, beautiful, and very racy for all ETS categories.

5 things to watch during ETS RD2 Season #16 2023/24 in Aigen-Schlägl, AUT

0

Before we head into our racing weekend, we always give you some interesrting things to watch (from our side of view). As the race in Aigen is the second of the season, the race for the championships will pick up some pace from now on as everybody aims for a good result at the end of ETS Season #16. Here are our 5 things to watch at ETS RD2 in Austria!

1.) LensBodies Ghibli debut at ETS

LensBodies has become an ETS body shell supporting company, and their Ghibli body shell is already listed and allowed to use in Aigen. As we took a closer look on the body, we noticed that some very good drivers have already won national races and other meetings with it. It will be interesting to see how many drivers will use the Ghibli body from LensBodies – and how they will perform with it. The Ghibli is allowed in all touring car classes – just take a look on the ETS body shell list and you will find it there!

2.) RC Racing TV

Even if we have announced it multiple times now – we are still super stoked about RC Racing TV coming to our event. It will be the first time for the British crew to broadcast an ETS event, and they are excited in the same way as we are. They have a full packed schedule of events in July, and we are proud to be one of those events. So, one thing to watch will be RC Racing TV during the entire weekend for sure 🙂

3.) Austrians racing in Austria

From 14 to 33 – that is a great improvement. At last years ETS race in Aigen, we “only” saw 14 Austrian racers on the line. This time, the number has increased up to 33 which makes us very happy. We like to thank all the local Austrian drivers for supporting this event in their home country. Another big thank you goes to Martin Maryhofer who made a very good promotion for our race in the meantime.
Let`s see what the locals can do at ETS RD2 in Aigen-Schlägl – we will have an eye on them!

4.) ProStock champion racing Modified

At RD1 in Apeldoorn, we saw some of the best ProStock racers running in the Matrix Modified class. One of them was three time ETS Pro Strock champion Simon Lauter (Awesomatix). He told us that he wants to take the challenge of the modified class now and in Apeldoorn he did amazingly well. He only missed the A-Main by a very small margin, but his speed was already there.
With Simon`s determination to our sport, we know that he will work and practice hard to make the Modified A-Main soon. Let`s see what he can do in Aigen – he definateley is a driver to watch!

5.) Ratheisky family again in full force

It was amazing to see the whole Ratheisky family (including Jan`s father Kai Asmer) racing at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn. Nobody really knows how Jan is able to manage all the work on the cars between the heats while starting in 3 classes himself, but somehow the Ratheisky racing team is always on track. With Svantje, Emely, and Marlon learining how to wrench on their cars more and more, the stress will become less in the future and Jan will be able to lean back again 🙂 Watch the Ratheisky family enjoyig RC in a high dosis at ETS RD2 in Austria!

Mountains calling again as the ETS circus travels to beautiful Austria

ETS Preview Report RD2 Season #16 2023/24 Aigen-Schlägl, AUT

After a fantastic season opener in the Netherlands, the ETS circus travels to Austria this week. The hosting club, MAV Aigen-Schlägl, is already well prepared and everything is set for another great show of RC racing at the highest level. The ETS raced in Aigen for the first time in 2022 with 148 drivers in attendance. Now, we are extremeley happy about 203 entries which clearly shows that everybody really liked the track and the venue during last years ETS weekend. Thank you to everybody for siging up for the race – the MAV Aigen-Schlägl is awaiting all of us!

[the_ad_group id=”141″]

RC Racing TV for the first time at the ETS

The famous RC Racing TV will join us in Austria to broadcast the event with one of their great livestreams. It is something that the ETS wanted to do at one time since a long period, and now it will happen in Austria.
RC Racing TV will send a small crew to Aigen to broadcast the event from Friday to Sunday on their YouTube channel. As usual, we will also show the stream on our website. If you will not be racing in Aigen, mark the date in your calendar and follow our stream “made by RC Racing TV”.

Drivers party on Thursday evening

Last year, the MAV Aigen organized a nice barbeque on Thursday evening with ToniSport donating some free drinks for everybody. Everybody had a good time and a nice evening. The best about it is, that it will happen again this year!
After free practice on Thursday we will have another great evening for our ETS family, directly beside the beautiful racetrack in Aigen. All racers already received an E-mail to select the menu of their choice and we are looking forward to a nice evening with some cold drinks, good food, and a lot of funny trash talk 🙂

What to expect from racing?

The first race of the new season in Apeldoorn was very close and exciting in all classes. Four out of six classes saw the top qualifier taking the win. Only in Matrix Modified (TQ Marc Rheinard), and in ToniSport Formula (TQ Jan Ratheisky), the TQ was not able to win the race. Michal Orlowski (Modified) and Andreas Stiebler (Formula) had been able to win the race from second and third on the grid. The track in Aigen is very open and overtaking is possible for sure. We can expect thrilling races and we hope for a lot of action to happen during ETS RD2.

Matrix Modified

Rheinard aiming for Apeldoorn recovery while race winner Orlowski races Offroad Euros

The race in the Matrix Modified class was a drama for TQ Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix). He won A1 in a dominant way before A2 and A3 didn`t go to Rheinards plans. That means Marc Rheinard will travel to Austria with the big goal to recover from a very bad result (7th in the end). Michal Orlowski took the overall win for Schumacher in the Netherlands after a blistering performance. With Orlowski racing at the Offroad Euros in Belgium this weekend, he will not have a shot for the victory in Aigen.
Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker will also try everything he can to score a better result compared to Apeldoorn (4th place). He won the German nationals last weekend and comes to Aigen with a good momentum. Völker`s teammate Eric Dankel had his best ever ETS race in the Netherlands and is also expected to be in a very good form.
Jan Ratheisky, Patrick Gollner, Marco Kaufmann, and Oliver Havranek will fly the flag for Xray, while Yokomo is sending their factory team with Christopher Krapp, Yannic Prümper, and Frederik Hovgaard to ETS RD2. Alex Kunkler will rock the Iris ONE, and Mattia Collina and Andy Murray will be on the line for Schumacher. All in all, we are expecting another great race on a fast and spectacular track for the modified class.

Awesomatix ProStock

Can Bultynck extend his championship lead?

Olivier Bultynck was driving in a class of his own at the season opener in Apeldoorn. He took an impressive TQ and won A1 and A2 in style ahead of Lukas Ellerbrock, and Max Mächler. It was another podium lockout for Awesomatix and their A800R touring car. The team around Max Mächler will travel to Aigen with good memories as they had been very dominant there last year. The team will see a strong lineup and it will demand a lot from their competitors to challenge them in Austria.

Stefan Schulz, Adam Izsay, Jan Ratheisky, Jacques Libar, David Ehrbar (Xray), Enrico Jung and Dominic Vogl (Yokomo), Sören Sparbier, Jonas Völker, and Niclas Storm (Mugen Seiki), Manuel Stankowitz (Iris), as well as Tim Benson (Jambo One) are some of the drivers who will try to beat the Awesomatix team in Aigen. It will not be an easy job for anybody, but we are sure to see a great fight in the Awesomatix ProStock class.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

High quality in the FWD class – but who will win ETS RD2?

ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn produced some amazing FWD racing – especially at the front of the A-Main. It was a close fight between Adam Izsay, Max Weffers, Robin van Gog, and Kevin Sparbier and Izsay was victorious in the end by a very small margin. Robin van Gog will not start in Aigen, but other drivers like Jonas Völker, Jacques Libar, Andy Murray, and newly crowned German national champion Daniel Pöhlnmann will all try to achieve a great result in a very stron Hobbywing Frontwheel drive class.

1up Racing Masters

Kölbel is the hunted driver at the second race of the season

Renè Kölbel`s 40+ Masters victory in Apeldoorn surprised many people. It was a very well deserved win which also saw some drama in the finals. Renè will arrive to Aigen as the championship leader and everybody will have an eye on him. We expect him to be fully motivated at ETS RD2 in his home country Austria.
When we look on the list of entries, we see many well-known names. Elibert Sievers, Michel Zierold, and Manuel Stankowitz all are former ETS race winners in this class and they know what it needs to run on top of the field. Former european champion Andreas Myrberg, Mirco Thalheimer, Torsten Baggendorf, Joachim Altenhof, and Frank Fuchs are frequent A-Main runners too, and they will all be in the mix of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class at the MAV Aigen-Schlägl

Orca 21.5 Stock

Bergheim to face strong contenders after first race win in Apeldoorn

After winning his first ever ETS race in the Netherlands, Tristan Bergheim will be the man to beat at ETS RD2 in Aigen. This time, the field will be even more competitive with Daniel Pöhlmann and Jan Gehrig joining guys like Tobias Baumbach, Timo Siebert, and the Seis family. The Orca 21.5 Stock class will be great to watch on the big track in Aigen and we expect some super close racing during the weekend. Can Tristan Bergheim win again, or will we see another driver walking away with the win?

ToniSport Formula

Who will win the second Formula race of the season?

At the first round of ETS Season #16, the ToniSport Formula class was a hard fought contest between the big dogs Jan Ratheisky, David Ehrbar, Renè Kölbel, and Andreas Stiebler. In the end, Schumacher racer Stiebler stood on top of the podium after Ratheisky and Ehrbar had a controversial battle on track. They all made their entries for our race n Aigen where they will go for it once again. It is hard to pick some favourites before the race but one thing is clear: The tension will be very high and the Formula cars will go super fast on track with the new Hobbywing ETS combo.

That was our quick preview report for ETS Rd2 in Austria. We hope that everybody will enjoy the time on the great track in Aigen. If you cannot join us, just follow our website ets.racing and you will get informed about all the action going on!

Let`s go racing!

0

Last weekend saw the German nationals taking place at the Hollmoorring in Munster. The local club hosted a great event and all drivers enjoyed the nice and flowing track. Christopher Krapp (Yokomo), Yannic Prümper (Yokomo), Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix), and Jan Ratheisky (Xray) completed the top 5 on the grid for the triple A-Mains.

ETS welcomes RC Racing TV at RD2 in Aigen, Austria

0

The second race of the 2023/24 ETS season is just around the corner and today we are very proud to announce that the famous RC Racing TV will join us in Austria to broadcast the event with one of their great livestreams.

Since a long time I was dreaming about having RC Racing TV at one of our ETS races. After we have talked to Mat and his crew when we met them at the 1:8 scale Electric Buggy Euros some weeks ago at the Rhein-Main Circuit, things got a little more serious and we started to check if we can find a way to hire them for ETS RD2 in Aigen. Now, as it is confirmed, we are really looking forward to their media coverage at the venue of the MAV Aigen-Schlägl.

Uwe Rheinard, ETS Organizer

New for 2023, RC Racing TV is getting to fulfil an ambition we’ve had for over a decade. This year we are proud to be working with the ETS to bring full livestream coverage of Round 2 at Aigen in Austria. The ETS has been a huge movement in 1/10 electric on road racing for many years with regular sell-out events all over Europe. Plus sister series in 1/10 buggy and nitro track. So, anyway, for the 20th – 23rd of July we’ll be joining over 200 entries to bring you all the action right here on RC Racing TV

Mat McCallum, RC Racing TV

RC Racing TV – broadcasting RC history for over 16 years

RC Racing TV is around since 16 years now, and they covered hundrets of races since then. Their head quater is located in Great Britain and they are absoluteley knowing what to do to present an event in a very professional way. RC Racing TV also recorded one of the most (if not the most) famous videos of RC racing at the 2008 IFMAR worlds in Bangkok (Thailand), where Marc Rheinard took his second worlds title in front of Ronald Völker and RC legend Masami Hirosaka. The video has collected 13 million views until now which is just unbelievable. If you have never watched this iconic video, here it is:

We are looking forward to ETS RD2 in Austria and the RC Racing TV coverage – see you soon in Aigen-Schlägl.

Uwe, Scotty, and the whole ETS crew!

200 mark broken as ETS RD2 will be another top event

0

Dear ETS Family,

even if ETS RD2 in Austria is still 4 weeks ahead of us, the number of entries has already increased up to 208 in the last couple of days.
This is even more than last year`s total attendance of 143, and clearly shows that the first ETS race at this amazing place was a good promotion leading more and more racers to join us in Aigen this season. We are still missing some names on the list of entries and we are sure that 208 is not the final number for ETS RD2 at the facility of the MAV Aigen-Schlägl.

We are in a constant exchange with the club and everybody in Aigen is looking forward to the event. Last year`s event was a real blast.. One thing we can tell you today is that there will be a Barbecue again for all drivers on Thursday evening. Many people had a lot of fun on this first evening after free practice and the club would love to do this again for all of you. We will inform you about the menu, the registration process for the BBQ, and also about the price in the ext weeks.

If you are planning to travel to Aigen-Schlägl with your own Camper, trailer, or just your own tent, please inform Martin Mayrhofer about your plans as he is in charge to organize everything there. Martin`s E-Mail is: Martin_Mayrhofer@gmx.net

If you still have no idea about the MAV Aigen-Schlägl and the amazing racetrack, just re-watch the Track Walk video with Oli Meggitt and Patrick Beck from last seasons race. You will get a great impression of the track and you will understand why you like to travel to Austria with your RC equipment in July.
