Mugen Seiki factory driver Ronald Völker is rocking his MTC-2R at ETS RD4 in Hann. Münden. As always, his car is powered by LRP Batteries and a LRP ESC/Motor combo, and Ronald is using the FlySky Noble Pro radio together with his well approved Highest servo. In terms of option parts, his MTC-2R features the two piece topdeck from Mugen Seiki, progressive springs and the bypass shock bodies in the front, the Mugen LCG brass shorty battery mounts, and some general balancing weights.
The second round of qualifying is now completed after the schedule had split it into two sections from Friday evening to Saturday morning. Two more rounds will follow to find out who will make into the big show here at the Transworld Hotel Auefeld in Hann. Münden.
Matrix Modified
Two in a row as Urbain wins Q2 on Saturday morning
Lucas Urbain seems to be on a mission here at ETS RD4 in Germany. With a gap of 1,7 seconds (!) ahead of second placed Marc Rheinard, he scored maximum points again. Rheinard` s second place was a close one as he had Christopher Krapp and Jan Ratheisky in a couple of tenths behind him after five minutes. Krapp lost some time as a slightly slower car was not opening for him as quicky as it should have – that costed Krapp a possible P2 for the round. Lucas Urbain is very close to seal his first TQ on carpet at the ETS while Ronald Völker and Marc Rheinard are sitting in second and third place after two rounds of matrix Modified qualifying.
Izsay on top of the board in Q2 again – great performance of new Xray car with a 1-2
After Adam Izsay took the opening round of qualifying yesterday, it was another TQ run for the “all new” Xray X4-2024 by the quick Hungarian racer. He had a perfect run and took the round from his teammate Jan Ratheisky, with the Awesomatix of Lukas Ellerbrock in third place. Izsay is now very close to seal the overall TQ – can he do it in the next round?
Adam Izsay has taken the second round of FWD qualifying on Saturday morning. Manuel Stankowitz posted a fast overall time in the second fastest group again, and it was only Adam Izsay who was able to beat the time in the top heat. Henrik Heitsch took third place for the round and Adam Southgate and Daniel Pöhlmann completed the top 5. The fight for TQ is wide open with the best chances for Izsay and Stankowitz who are both having a one and two on their score card now!
Mateo wins second Masters qualifier and joins battle for pole position
In the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class, Toni Mateo from Gran Canaria had the better ending in a real thriller. The top 4 drivers Mateo, Stankowitz, Zierold, and Baggendorf crossed the finish line within 0.450 of a second – that was Masters class racing at it`s best! The overnight rankings in the Masters class had seen Mateo, Baggendorf, Stankowitz, Zierold, and Thalheimer in the top 5.
Langner again in Q2 after Bergheim got hit by a backmarker
In the second round of Orca 21.5 Stock qualifying, it was again Phil Langner who came down the driver stand with a win in his pocket. It was another close fight with Tristan Bergheim, but after Bergheim got taken out by a backmarker, Langner took an easy win. Nadine Zühlke finished on a great second place in Q2, followed by Tobias Baumbach in third place.
Ratheisky absolutely on point in Q2 – Ehrbar took second again
Jan Ratheisky was on point one more time in the second round of ToniSport Formula qualifying. David Ehrbar was pushing hard over the whole runtime, but had to settle for second place another time. Jan Ratheisky is only one TQ run away from sealing the overall pole position. Can anybody stop one of the best Formula racers in RC?
We had the Awesomatix A800R of multiple IFMAR World Champion Marc Rheinard in front of our camera at ETS RD4 in Hann. Münden, GER. Marc has installed all power components such as ESC, Motor, and Battery from his long time electronics sponsor ORCA. He is also using his FlySky Noble Pro radio system in combination with a S15 servo from PowerHD.
A super light 0,4mm Twister Speciale body shell is mounted on his racecar. In terms of option parts, the car is equipped with the aluminum MR33 spool and diff pulleys for maximum efficiency (MR33-AWE-DP-A and MR33-AWE-SP-A) as well as a carbon bumper plate from Awesomatix.
German racer Mathias Drummer is at the ETS for the very first time with his friends from Team Undercover. Matthias is racing in the Orca 21.5 Stock class, and it seems that he is having a real good time in Hann. Münden. We took the chance to look at the MTS V2 / SNRC touring car of Matthias. The car is one of the rarer cars at the ETS, but the Team Undercover drivers are doing a good job to show how it works on track. Matthias has equipped his car with a special LCG kit to lower the center of gravity for a better performance, especially on carpet.

Matrix Modified
Ratheisky was the early leader before Völker and Rheinard tried to catch overnight TQ Urbain
Top seed Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) took the first round of Matrix Modified qualifying here in Hann. Münden. Lucas had a clean run and his advantage over second placed Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki) was half a second. Awesomatix driver Marc Rheinard took third place for the round, another six tenths behind Völker.
As the race started, it was Jan Ratheisky (Xray) who was in the lead for the first 2-3 laps before Urbain found his rhythm and took over the lead again. Urbain posted the fastest lap of the heat (12.186) and is looking very confident on track. The second round of qualifying is scheduled for Saturday morning, and it will be game on again.
Pro Stock Q1 goes to Xray`s Izsay, Schulz took second place, Bultynck third!
The first Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifier saw multiple changes at the top during the 5 minute run. Tim Benson was the early leader, until Izsay took it over and maintained it till the end. Tim Benson and Lukas Ellerbrock both had some small bubbles in their races and dropped down into the middle of the field.
Adam Izsay`s Xray teammate Stefan Schulz took over the second place and brought it home to score some good points in Q1. Olivier Bultynck, Patrick Danielsen, and Jan Ratheisky rounded out the top 5 in the first of our four rounds of qualifying.
In my first two laps I was a little nervous as I made many changes to the car before the run and I was not sure what to expect. But then it started to turn out very well and I had a clean run. I am happy with this result and I will not make any changes for tomorrow morning`s second qualifier!
Stankowitz and the new Iris car surprised with superb TQ run
In the Hobbywing Frontwheel class, the top heat saw a close and intense fight between Adam Izsay, and Phil Langner. Adam Iszay had the better ending and took the win, but beside the track it was the Iris team around Manuel Stankowitz, Andreas Myrberg, and Sven Rudig celebrating. Manuel Stankowitz had a ballistic run in the second fastest group earning himself and the team a very first ETS TQ run for the new Iris ONE.05 FWD car. Henrik Heitsch (ARC) and Adam Southgate completed the top 5 behind Stankowitz, Izsay, and Langner.
Wow, that was amazing. I had a good run on track but I never thought that it was enough for a TQ run. The car was really good and this result is giving us even more motivation for the rest of the event. I am also happy for our car designer Andreas Myrberg and also for Sven Rudig because they trusted in me all the time. Let`s see what happens in Q2, but for now I take the TQ points in my bag 🙂
ARC driver Baggendorf TQ`s opening round of Masters qualifying
In the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class it was Torsten Baggendorf celebrating on the driver stand after a ballistic and clean run taking TQ honours. The heat was intense and the lead changed several times between Torsten Baggendorf and Manuel Stankowitz (Iris). After five minutes, Michel Zierold (Awesomatix) was splitting the leaders and took second place with a tenth of a second from Stankowitz.
That was a great run! My ARC is so easy to drive it was simply fantastic. In the end it was a close fight with Stanko and Zierold, but I was able to take it. I will leave my car untouched for Q2 and hope for another good result.
Torsten Baggendorf (DE) ARC
Toni Mateo posted the fastest lap of the run (14.010) and finished in fourth place behind Baggendorf, Zierold, and Stankowitz. One more round of Masters qualifying will follow this evening and Torsten Baggendorf will get the chance to lay down another TQ run – can he get the job done?
Langner takes Friday afternoon Q1 from Bergheim and Petersen
In the first round of Orca 21.5 Stock qualifying, second place starter Phil Langner took the win ahead of top seed Tristan Bergheim. In the first laps of the race their pace looked very similar, but in the second half of the run it was Langner who lit the afterburner to open a gap of 2 seconds over Bergheim. Jan Petersen finished third for the round, followed by Tobias Baumbach (Xray) and Nadine Zühlke (Awesomatix).
I am happy with my run as my car was feeling very good. After Tristan let me by, I could maintain my speed and open a little gap to him until the end. For the next run we will keep the car as it is and I will try to do it again 😊
The first round of Formula qualifying was in the hands of Jan Ratheisky. The former ETS champion of this class took the win in front of fellow Xray racer David Ehrbar, and Michal Wojcik. Robert Kampehl and René Kölbel made it into the top 5 and scored some solid points too. Jan Ratheisky had a comfortable gap of 1.6 seconds and drove the fastest lap of the race which moves him into a top favourite roll for the next rounds of qualifying now.
The first half of qualifying round 2 will take place this evening, followed by the rest on Saturday morning. We will post our Q2 report on Saturday to give you another update!

Matrix Modified
The seeding practice of the Matrix Modified class saw Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) on top of the board. Lucas improved his pace a lot throughout all practice sessions and had a comfortable looking gap of almost three tenths of a seconds over the rest of the field. Behind Urbain, it was as close as you cannot imagine. With only half a second between P2 and P10, the fight for the spots of the A-Main starting grid will be very intense in qualifying. Jan Ratheisky was driving super-fast and will start from second place, followed by the Yokomo of Yannic Prümper, Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker, and Awesomatix Marc Rheinard.

Benson, Bultynck, and Izsay leading Pro Stock class into qualiying
In the Awesomatix Pro Stock class, ETS track designer Tim Benson was the fastest at the end of controlled practice with his self-modified, so called “Jambo Two” car. Olivier Bultynck was second with his Awesomatix and hie main championship contenders Adam Izsay and Lukas Ellerbrock will start from P3 and P4 into the top heat.

Seeding practice is “only” about three hot laps, and now it is time for every driver to show their real 5 minute pace on track.

Joachim Altenhof (Awesomatix) had a ballistic run in the second round of seeding practice of the 1up Racing 40+ Masters class. He was 0.010 of a second faster as reigning champion Manuel Stankowitz who looked also very strong with the new Iris car. Werner Schmitzer drove to third place with his Xray car and is another contender for the TQ spot. Michel Zierold (Awesomatix) and René Kölbel (Xray) made it into the top 5 of a very close 40+ Masters class. Who will have the strongest nerves and pace in qualifying? Tristan Bergheim was the fastest driver in seeding practice with Phil Langner right in tow. With both drivers only separated by half a tenth, it is already clear that they are facing a close battle in the upcoming 4 rounds of qualifying. Jan Petersen, Tobias Baumbach, and Nadine Zühlke rounded out the top 5 in seeding practice of the Orca 21.5 Stock class.

Ehrbar will lead the Formula drivers into qualifying
Xray`s David Ehrbar is top seed in the ToniSport Formula class. Andreas Stiebler and the rest of the top 5 had been on almost the same pace as Ehrbar, who just turned the faster three consecutive laps on track at the Transworld Hotel. Qualifying will start immediately and we will watch the fight for the TQ in round one of qualifying!

Xray driver Patrick Gollner is running the new X4-2024 here at ETS RD4 in Hann. Münden. The car of the reigning Austrian champion is powered by a Hobbywing combo with Nosram batteries, and is controlled by a Sanwa M17 radio in combination with a servo from SRT. Patrick is running the X4-2024 almost out of the box with the only option parts being the Xray 1.5mm aluminum chassis with 1.6mm split topdecks, and soft CFF upper arms.
The carpet season of ETS Season #16 2023/24 is underway. The 270 participants had six rounds of controlled practice today to get used to the fantastic, flowing, and fast track layout in the sports hall of the Transworld Hotel Auefeld. The traction came up quickly and lap times dropped down a lot from the first heat in the morning to the last heat in the evening. Tomorrow morning will be a short open practice for all drivers who missed Thursday practice, followed by another round of free practice and two more rounds of seeding practice. The first round of qualifying is scheduled for Friday afternoon and will be the first real showdown of the weekend!
Matrix Modified
The top 5 finished the day within two tenths of a second on a fast and flowing track
The Matrix Modified was really fast on the flowing track layout. The laptimes dropped a lot during the day and it was Mugen Seiki`s lead driver Ronald Völker who was on top of the board at the end of the day. Yannic Prümper was second fastest for Yokomo and Marc Rheinard took third place for Awesomatix. It was very tight at the front with the top 5 in about two tenths of a second.
With the top 15 drivers all in one second (!) over three consecutive laps, we can expect the closest qualifying since a long time as the track leads everybody to push very hard. Seeding practice will follow on Friday after one more round of free practice and the first round of qualifying will also take place in the evening!

In the Awesomatix ProStock class, it was Hann. Münden`s fastest racer Sören Sparbier (Mugen Seiki) who found himself on top of the board as the day came to an end. Sparbier was quicker as second placed and third placed. A great show of performance from Sparbier, BUT as he will only be able to run 2 out of 4 qualifiers this weekend due to work commitments, he will have a monster job to do on track to maintain his position.
Olivier Bultynck, the current championship leader, improved his pace round by round and found himself in a strong second place at the end of the day, right ahead of his Awesomatix team mate Lukas Ellerbrock. Who will be the fastest in qualifying? We will find out on Friday after seeding practice!

Will Hann. Münden pave the way to the title for Izsay?
For current championship leader Adam Izsay, this weekend`s race at the Transworld Hotel can be a defining one into direction overall ETS FWD championship (which would be the third in a row for Xray). Adam is some good points ahead of his competitors and another top 3 finish (or a win) would hand him all aces before the last two remaining encounters of season #16.
Adam was the fastest here on Thursday and his advantage over second placed Jonas Völker (Mugen Seiki) was at 0.3 seconds over the fastest three consecutive laps. The top qualifier of ETS RD3, Henrik Heitsch (ARC), finished third for the day while Adam Southgate and Andy Kühne also showing a great speed taking fourth and fifth overall.
Morgen setting the pace after coming back to the ETS
Caspar Morgen from Denmark ended his first day on a high as he topped the time sheets in the last run of the day. After not racing at the last 4 or 5 ETS races, he was immediately on pace with his Xray car and was followed closely by Torsten Baggendorf (ARC) and reigning champion Manuel Stankowitz (Iris). The very experienced carpet specialist Joachim Altenhof took fourth place for the day with ETS RD1 winner René Kölbel in fifth position.

Langner and Bergheim looking to be in a class of their own (now)
In the Orca 21.5 Stock class, Phil Langner and Tristan Bergheim had been the fastest two drivers all day long. At the end of the six practice rounds, Phil had a small advantage of 0,036 seconds over Tristan while third placed Jan Petersen was already 0,6 behind the leaders. Florian Müller and Jan Vogler completed the top 5 at the first day of ETS RD4 in Germany.

Xray driver David Ehrbar had a great start into ETS RD4 after winning the last race of the outdoor season in Andernach two months ago. Ehrbar posted the fastest three consecutive laps of the day in the fifth round of practice and was a tenth faster as his rivals Andreas Stiebler and Jan Ratheisky in second and third. The top five had been on a very similar pace all day and qualifying will be a close affair here at the Transworld Hotel.
