In today‘s „Under the hood“ we got a first look on the new Awesomatix A800R. Awesomatix Team Manager Max Mächler running the car in the future planned „kit spec“, beside the optional BEL351LF Low Friction belts, SB3X5AL Alloy screws and his own MXLR brand MAX-09-005 FlexBumper.
As known from last weeks official infos, the A800R features a new shorter chassis, new suspension arms, new bulkheads, new top+lower bumper, new rear bodyholder, new battery holders, new swaybars and especially a new Damper design which allows independent adjustment of the spring and damping stiffness.
The first outings showing great potential, and we are looking forward to see the performance of the team and the car this weekend and in the new upcoming season!

Völker bounces back in Q2, Rheinard second, Orlowski flips in opening lap
In the opening lap of Matrix Modified Q2, Michal Orlowski had a traction roll with his Schumacher car in the opening lap and dropped all the way back to the end of the field. Meanwhile, Ronald Völker was leading the race with his LRP powered Mugen Seiki, with Rheinard`s Orca powered Awesomatix A800R right in tow. It was a very close race for the whole 5 minutes, and Ronald Völker was able to bring home the very important win in this heat to keep the chances for the pole position alive. Marc Rheinard crossed the line 0,9 seconds behind Völker and is still in striking distance when looking on the overall championship. Christopher Krapp (Yokomo), David Ronnefalk (Awesomatix), and Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) rounded out the top 5 in the last heat of qualifying on a very long Friday in Daun.
Another win for Lauter, this time ahead of Sparbier and Krähemann
The second Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifier was another show of Simon Lauter`s extra class. After winning a complicated Q1, he drove without any mistake and scored his second TQ run of the event. Behins Awesomatix driver Lauter, Mugen Seiki`s Sören Sparbier had an amazing run to second place for the round with Oliver Krähemann (Awesomatix) taking third place. Louis Kretschmer (Awesomatix) and Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) rounded out the top 5. With his second TQ run, Simon Lauter is only one run away from the pole position, AND the overall championship. His only contender Mächler needs a TQ and race win here in Daun to take the title away from Lauter, but with missing pole position his hopes for the title would go up in smoke. However, we will know more after the third, or at least fourth round of qualifying on Saturday.
After winning Q1, Stefan Schulz was on point again in the second round of FWD qualifying. His gap in front of second placed driver Roman Borschel was 0.2 seconds, and he is only one run away from a possible pole position in Daun which would be a huge break for the championship. Roman Borschel finished second in Q2, and Sören Sparbier took the points for third place.
Borschel, Donath, Schmid, and Reile nose to tail in Q2
Roman Borschel took the second qualifier in the Orca 17.5 Stock class. But what an intense race it was! The top four finished within 0.413 of a second – that`s crazy, isn`t it? Daniel Pöhlmann finished fifth for the round, another second behind the top four. The overall ranking list on Saturday evening is listing Q1 winner Dominik Reile on top, with championship contender Jasmin Donath in third position. Everything is wide open and the decision for pole position and all A-Main spots will be on the line on Saturday morning here at the ETS season finale.
Zierold again in Q2, Stankowitz now second overall with Mateo dropping down to eight place
Michel Zierold is on a mission here at ETS RD6 in Daun. He won the second round of qualifying and has two TQ runs to his favour now. He has nothing to do with the fight for the overall championship title, and he is driving very relaxed and without any pressure. The situation for Manuel Stankowitz is different. He is sitting in second spot now which looks very promising for him as Toni Mateo is only ranked in eight place after Q2. Even if qualifying is only halfway done, we can see the pendulum swinging a little bit to the side of Manuel Stankowitz. Iris car designer Andreas Myrberg is sitting in third place now and it looks like he can also be in contention for the race win here in Daun. Torsten Baggendorf posted another fourth place and has booked his place on the A-Main starting grid for sure now. Caspar Morgen from Denmark is sitting in fifth place overnight!
Stiebler close to seal the overall TQ after another win in Q2
We saw the same result as in Q1, with Andreas Stiebler on top of the board after five minutes. René Kölbel took another second place and the battle for the championship is getting even more exciting now. Behind the leaders it was once more a fight for third and fourth between Herbert Weber and Gergö Valent. A much improved Jacques Libar posted the fifth fastest time in the second round of Scorpion Formula qualifying.

Super strong Orlowski takes opening qualifier for Schumacher
In the first round of Matrix Modified qualifying, we saw a close fight at the top between Michal Orlowski (Schumacher), top seed Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki), and the Awesomatix duo of Marc Rheinard and David Ronnefalk. Orlowski started the heat with the fastest opening lap and was leading for the entire run. But Ronald Völker (driving in front of him on track) never gave up and closed the 0.7 gap all the way down to 0.2 again in until the last minute. Orlowski answered with some fast laps, and in the end his advantage on the line was at 0.215 of a second from Völker. A great result for Michal Orlowski who won many EOS qualifying heats in his career, but only posted one TQ run in modified touring car at the ETS, 2018 in Slovakia after some tire strategy moves on asphalt. Behind Orlowski and Völker, it was David Ronnefalk who finished third for the round – “not bad for an offroad dude” as Scotty (Ernst) announce it. Marc Rheinard had to take P4 for the round which puts him under some pressure in the fight for the championship. Yokomo`s Christopher Krapp completed the top 5 in the first Matrix Modified qualifier.
Lauter wins thrilling Q1 ahead of Ellerkbock and Krähemann
The first qualifier in the Awesomatix Pro Stock class was not an easy one for the heat winner Simon Lauter (Awesomatix). He started second behind top seed Tim Benson (Awesomatix), and found himself on top after Benson made a small mistake in the first laps. Benson was right behind Lauter after his bubble and looked a little bit faster. But as he was way behind Lauter on the timing, Lauter was not in a situation to let him by. At one time, Benson was too close to Lauter in front of him and touched him slightly. He could continue and drove some impressive laps afterwards to takt the win in Q1. Lukas Ellerbrock and Oliver Krähemann (both Awesomatix) had a strong pace as well and scored good points in second and third place. Benson finished fourth, and Adam Izsay (Xray) fifth. Lauters only championship contender, Max Mächler, had a run to forget and is sitting in P27 after Q1.
Schulz wins super close Q1 with 0.011 seconds ahead of Sparbier and Borschel
In the Hobbywing Frontwheel class, Stefan Schulz (Xray) took a hard-fought heat win in front of Sören Sparbier (Mugen Seiki), and Roman Borschel (Awesomatix). Schulz also posted the fastest lap of the heat and is one step closer to his main goal: The overall championship! Behind the top 3, Mark Valent took P4 with his time coming from the second fastest group, and Jan Gehrig rounded out the top 5 in the first FWD qualifier.
Reile TQ`s round one of 17.5 Stock qualifying at ETS RD6
Dominik Reile won the first round of qualifying ahead of top seed Kevin Schmid with a gap of one second. Behind them, it was Jasmin Donath with a good run to third position. A good start for both title contenders (Donath and Reile) into the four rounds of qualifying. Roman Borschel and Jan Gehrig completed the top 5 in Q1. The second round in the evening will bring us closer to the decision for the important overall TQ.
Zierold takes opening round of Masters qualifying from Myrberg and Baggendorf
Top seed Manuel Stankowitz (Awesomatix) finished only third in Q1 of the Masters class, while his title contender Toni Mateo (Awesomatix) was able to finish only eight for the round. Not a perfect start for both, with the better result for Stankowitz. On top, it was Michel Zierold (Awesomatix) taking the win with 0.5 seconds ahead of Andreas Myrberg (Iris). Torsten Baggendorf scored good points as well with P4.
The opening round of Scorpion Formula qualifying was – as everybody expected – a close battle between top seed René Kölbel (Xray) and Andreas Stiebler (Schumacher). They raced on a very similar pace for the entire five minutes, but Stiebler crossed the line 0,9 seconds ahead of Kölbel. Herbert Weber (Xray) had a nice battle with Alex Bremer (Schumacher) and finished third for the round ahead of Bremer.
On our website you will not miss anything as you can find our livestream options in the “LIVE” section. To get quickly to the results of all classes simply navigate to the “RESULTS” area on our landing page. Q2 is up next – don`t miss it!

Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker is the top seed after two rounds of controlled practice in Daun. It was a very close affair between many top drivers at the front and it will be Michal Orlowski starting second for Schumacher, followed by the Awesomatix duo of Marc Rheinard and David Ronnefalk.

Schulz heading in direction championship while Olsen struggles with his own pace
The Hobbywing Frontwheel class is under control of defending champion Stefan Schulz. He will start into qualifying with a clean track in front of him. The top 25 drivers had been very close in seeding practice, only separated by one second. Meik Niemann and Roman Borschel will be the guys chasing Schulz in Q1 and we are excited about the outcome of FWD qualifying here in Daun. Steven Olsen needs to find some pace if he still wants a chance to fight for the overall title with Schulz as he is only sitting 10th right now.
The Top 5 after controlled practice (2 consecutive laps)
Schmid to start first into qualifying while Reile and Donath dropping down to P4 and P5 at the end of seeding practice
The second round of seeding practice mixed up the field a little bit when Kevin Schmid, Roman Borschel, and Henrik Heitsch took positions one, two, and three. It was just seeding practice and the drivers had been very close on the two fastest laps, but it was interesting to see that a lot of drivers are on a great pace. We are not expecting an easy race for Reile and Donath in the fight for the overall championship!
The Top 5 after controlled practice (2 consecutive laps)
1. Kevin Schmid (DE) 34.829 (Awesomatix) 2. Roman Borschel (DE) 34.981 (Awesomatix) 3. Henrik Heitsch (DE) 35.090 (ARC) 4. Dominik Reile (DE) 35.134 (Awesomatix) 5. Jasmin Donath (DE) 35.240 (Awesomatix)
Zierold, Myrberg, and Baggendorf outpacing championship contenders Stankowitz and Mateo at ETS RD6 in Germany
The seeding practice in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class saw Michel Zierold on top of the board. He was the fastest driver on track, with Andreas Myrberg, and Torsten Baggwendorf right in tow. Manuel Stankowitz dropped down to fourth place, and Toni Mateo was able to close his gap to Stankowitz sitting fifth. Qualifying will be up next and everybody must go “all in” for a good place on the grid. The gap between the top 5 was just about 0.2 seconds in two laps which is not a lot for sure!

1. Michel Zierold (DE) 35.035 (Awesomatix) 2. Andreas Myrberg (SE) 35.110 (Iris) 3. Torsten Baggendorf (DE) 35.112 (Awesomatix) 4. Manuel Stankowitz (DE) 35.223 (Awesomatix) 5. Toni Mateo (ES) 35.270 (Awesomatix)
