ETS Q3 + Q4 Report RD1 Season #15 2022/23

Qualifying is over here at ETS RD1 Season #15 2022/23 in the Netherlands. With a bad weather forecast for Sunday, the ETS crew decided to run two complete rounds of Finals here on Saturday evening. As the AMCA Apeldoorn facility is equipped with LED lighting, racing should be possible even when it is getting darker. The first two rounds of finals are scheduled for this evening, as we expect rain to hit Apeldoorn on Sunday. But before we focus on the finals which will start later, we like to let you know what happened in the third and fourth round of qualification in Apeldoorn.

Matrix Modified

Team Yokomo with strong BD11 debut while Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker is overall TQ

Ronald Völker is the top qualifier in the Matrix Modified class. He took the first two rounds of qualifying with his LRP powered Mugen Seiki MTC2 and will be the man to beat in the triple A-Mains. With his car looking a little stronger in colder conditions, the two rounds of finals in the evening will come to his favour for sure. Völker, who has never won an ETS race here in Apeldoorn, will try everyting to finally walk away with a victory from the Netherlands.

Yokomo with a brilliant BD11 debut

In the third round of qualifying, Team Yokomo had a very strong run with a 1-2 finish by heat winner Yannic Prümper and Nicholas Lee in the second spot. A result which clearly shows the huge potential of Yokomo`s new BD11 platform. The whole team performance here in Apeldoorn is looking incredibly strong. Yannic Prümper (2nd), Christopher Krapp (4th), Nicholas Lee (5th) and Loic Jasmin (6th) all qualified for the A-Main, and Frederik Hovgaard (12th) also showed a great performance during the weekend. The new BD11 is right in the mix now, and Yannic Prümper can hope for a serious shot for the win from second on the grid.

Rheinard still in contention for the win

Awesomatix factory driver Marc Rheinard will start from third on the grid after his TQ run in the last round of qualifying. Sometimes 3rd is the best place to be when it comes down to the finals. He will trust on his experience and race craft, and whenever there will be an opportunity, Rheinard will be there with his A800MMX. With all drivers having three new sets of tires for the finals, everybody will be in full attack mode. The best conditions for great races in the Matrix Modified class at ETS RD1 Season #15 2022/23 in the Netherlands.

Mächler secures pole position in an all Awesomatix top 6

In the third and fourth round of qualifying of the Pro Stock class, the Awesomatix team stamped authority onto their qualifying results. The first three (!) rows of the grid are in the hands of the Awesomatix A800MMX, and Max Mächler will lead the field around the first corner from pole position.

Max took the first and third round of qualifying here in Apeldoorn, with Tim Benson taking the second round and Simon Lauter the final qualifier. Simon Lauter, the reigning ETS Pro Stock champion will start directly behind Mächler, followed by a train of A800MMX cars. The fist “non Awesomatix” car on the grid will be the Xray of Lukas Ellerbrock on P7. Lars Hoppe qualified 9th with his ARC and Enrico Jung booked the first Pro Stock A-Main for the new Yokomo BD11 car.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Strong qualifying earns TQ spot for Olsen

In the Hobbywing Frontwheel class, we will see Steven Olsen lining up first on the grid with his Awesomatix A800FX Evo. He had a great series of qualifying runs and is the top favourite for the win here in the Netherlands. It seems that his nerves are from steel as he did not make the smallest mistake in all his FWD runs. But racing in the finals is always different.

Nicolas Delisé took the win in the last round of qualifying and will line up second on the grid behind Olsen. Torsten Baggendorf, Max Weffers and Caspar Morgen are completing the top 5 on the grid. As FWD racing is always tight and close, we can expect a series of spectacular races with door to door fights in our Hobbywing Frontwheel class.

Orca 17.5 Stock

Jasmin Donath TQ`s RD4 of qualifying and Dominik Reile captures pole position for the finals

The third and fourth round of Orca 17.5 Stock qualifying have been the deciding rounds for the TQ spot and all remaining A-Main positions. In Q3, Daniel Pöhlmann posted a TQ run in front of Jasmin Donath and Dominik Reile. This result shifted the TQ decision between Reile and Pöhlmann into Q4.

When Q4 started, it was young Jasmin Donath from Berlin (Germany), who was on a mission. She didn`t look back and took the win for the ultimate round of qualifying. This amazing result earned her the second spot on the grid – her best ETS qualifying result. Behind her, we will see Daniel Pöhlmann, Kevin Schmid and Michael Koos in the top 5 on the grid.

ToniSport 40+ Masters

Elibert Sievers on pole, as Torsten Baggendorf and Toni Mateo taking the last qualifiers

Local racer Elibert Sievers will start on pole position with his Awesomatix A800MMX. He won the two opening rounds of qualifying in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class before Torsten Baggendorf and Toni Mateo picked up their pace to win Q3 and Q4.

Elibert won the race here last season in front of Mateo. Will we see the same battle for the win again, or will there be another driver hunting Elibert for the win? Flavio Paladin and Werner Schmitzer finished qualifying on P4 and P5, and the upcoming triple A-Mains are looking to become a series of thrillers in the ToniSport 40+ Masters class.

Scorpion Formula

Pole position for Renè Kölbel

The decision for the overall TQ in the Scorpion Formula class was already made after Q3. Renè Kölbel won his third run in a row and will start from the very helpful pole position into the triple A-Mains with his Xray Formula car. Behind him, the fight for all the remaining positions was very close – and intense as well. Jitse Miedema booked the second place on the grid in front of Andreas Stiebler, Luka Jovicic, and Herbert Weber.

The Formula cars are great to watch on the foam tires here in Apeldoorn, and we are looking forward to the finals where we hope for some great battles for the win!

ETS Q2 Report RD1 Season #15 2022/23

The second round of qualifying at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn was held on Friday evening (Orca 17.5 Stock and ToniSport 40+ Masters), and Saturday morning. Find out what happened in Q2 in the following summary!

Matrix Modified

Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker takes Saturday morning qualifier

After we saw a very intense opening qualifier in the Matrix Modified class on Friday evening, the second round was not boring as well. Right from the start, it was a two horse race for the win between Ronald Völker (Mugen Seiki) and Yannic Prümper (Yokomo). Yannic postet the fastest lap of the heat with a 13.995 in lap 3, with Völker doing a 14.084 in lap number five. The fight for the win went down to the last laps and Ronald Völker was able to take Q2 by 0.182 seconds from Prümper. A very important result for Völker, who has the best chances for the overall TQ now.

The third and fourth fastest runtimes came from the second fastest group this time, with Christopher Krapp (Yokomo) and Tim Benson (Awesomatix) having a great race there. Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix) and Eric Dankel (Mugen Seiki) completed the top 6 in the second round of qualifying in the matrix Modified class at the AMCA Apeldoorn.

Tim Benson takes second Pro Stock qualifier

The second round of Pro Stock qualifying saw Tim Benson on top of the board. The heat was very close, with Benson, Lauter, Mächler and Bultynck in the mix for the win. In the end, Tim Benson won with a gap of 0.533 seconds ahead of reigning Pro Stock champion Simon Lauter in second spot. Max Mächler, Olivier Bultynck and Frederik Mikkelsen completed the top 5. Another strong result for the Awesomatix team with the fop 5 all running the A800MMX touring car.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Olsen resists the pressure and takes Q2

After winning the first round of qualifying on Friday, Danish driver Steven Olsen took another heat win in the second round of Hobbywing Frontwheel qualifying on Saturday morning. He was leading the race with his Awesomatix A800FX Evo from start to finish and is now the driver with the best chances for the overall TQ. Behind Olsen, a great driving Torsten Baggendorf was pushing like hell to get to the front. He was within a few tenths of a second to Olsen for the entire race and scored good points with P2 for the round.

Nicolas Delisé from Belgium was the third fastest driver in Q2. His pace looked very similar to Olsen and Baggendorf in front of him, and he crossed the line 0.4 seconds behind the second placed Baggendorf.

Max Weffers and Kevin Sparbier completed the top 5 in Q2 of the Hobbywing Frontwheel class. The next round (Q3) can be the decider for the TQ, with Olsen having all the advantages on his favour right now. But one thing is clear: Whoever will start on pole position will have to defend this position against a top-class field of FWD drivers here in Apeldoorn.

Orca 17.5 Stock

Dominik Reile continues to shine in Apeldoorn

After his TQ run in the first round, Dominik Reile won the second round of qualifying in the Orca 17.5 Stock class as well. This time, Kevin Schmid was his main contender during the heat, but in the end he came short to by 2.3 seconds. Daniel Pöhlmann, who finished second in Q1, posted the third fastest runtime and is now third in the overall rankings behind Reile and Schmid. Another 1-2-3 for the Awesomatix A800MMX touring car.

Another driver to highlight in the second round of Orca 17.5 Stock qualifying is Michael Koos. He is running an Awesomatix car as well, but he is on track with the “old” A700 version (shaft driven) of the Russian brand here in Apeldoorn. This shows that you don`t have to own the “latest and greatest” stuff all the time to be competitive in a racing class. A good setup knowledge and some mechanical skills are the key to go fast – even when you are using a car which is not the newest on the market.

Now, after Q2, the advantage is clearly on the side of Dominik Reile. He is only one run away from sealing the overall TQ – will he do it? We will find it out tomorrow!

ToniSport 40+ Masters

Another “perfect run” from Elibert Sievers

Elibert Sievers continued where he stopped in Q1 – with leading the field of the ToniSport 40+ Masters class. He took another impressive win and is close tot he overall TQ. This time it was Torsten Baggendorf who was chasing Sievers as hard as possible until the end. He finished second for the round ahead of Thomas Oehler, Toni Mateo, and Michel Zierold.

With the top 9 drivers finishing in about 5 seconds, the ToniSport 40+ Masters class once again showed their quality and attractivity here in Apeldoorn. Elibert Sievers is holding all the cards in his hands now and we are excited if he will play the perfect game to seal the overall TQ.

Scorpion Formula

Kölbel again in Q2

Renè Kölbel posted another TQ run here at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn after taking the opening round yesterday evening. He won ahead of Andreas Stiebler, who was able to recover from his not so perfect Q1 result. Herbert Weber, Mathias Domig and Luka Jovicic completed the top five for the second round of Scorpion Formula qualifying. Renè Kölbel is in a great situation right now. With two TQ runs in the pocket he can be very optimistic to start from pole position into the finals – but he needs another one to book the best place on the grid.

Under the Hood – Nicholas Lee`s Yokomo BD11

Nicholas Lee made the trip to ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn all the way from Singapore. The Yokomo factory driver is running the brand new BD11 touring car from the Japanese manufacturer together with his teammates Yannic Prümper, Loic Jasmin, Christopher Krapp, Frederik Hovgaard, and Enrico Jung.

It is the first big international meeting for the new BD11 platform, and Nicholas is running the car almost out of the box with some additional tuning parts from Yokomo. The BD11 features new lower arms made from carbon fiber, and a unique and special “Active Topdeck Flex” System (ATF). Another noticeable change on the BD11 are the super low mounted Anti-roll bars for more efficiency and a low center of gravity.

On the electronics side, Nicholas has equipped his car with a Dash ESC and Motor, Arrowmax batteries, a Power HD Servo and a Sanwa receiver.

ETS Q1 Report RD1 Season #15 2022/23

The first round of qualifying here in Apeldoorn was intense, close, and thrilling as always on a Friday evening at the Euro Touring Series. All drivers had to show their true speed and potential to achieve the best possible results. The track was in a perfect shape, and everything was ready for the first showdown of the weekend. Find out what happened in our Q1 report!

Matrix Modified

Ronald Völker takes intense Friday evening qualifier

After a thrilling opening round of qualifying here in Apeldoorn, Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker came out on top of the heat. The sun was slowly disappearing, and the track temperatures were cooling down as the heat started. In the same moment, the wind picked up as well. Not easy for some serious modified racing.

In the first minutes of the race, it was a very intense fight for the lead between Jilles Groskamp (Infinity), Yannic Prümper (Yokomo) and Marc Rheinard (Awesomatix). The lead changed a couple of times, and when Groskamp and Rheinard lost a little bit of pace after the first 2 minutes, Yannic Prümper was the driver who was leading when the race was going into the deciding stages.

Ronald Völker, who lost 6-7 tenths of a second in lap three when he had to save his car from a little slide, closed the gap to Prümper lap after lap. He was able to take over the lead in the last 30 seconds of the race for the first time. Ronald finally took the win with 0.215 seconds in front of Yannic Prümper and Marc Rheinard, who drove the fastest lap of the heat. Michele Manzo (Awesomatix) finished fourth for the round, and Christopher Krapp (Yokomo) posted the fifth fastest time coming out of the second fastest heat of qualifying.

Our media team talked to round one TQ Ronald Völker shortly after the race and he said:

After I struggled a bit in the hot conditions mid-day, I wasn`t sure if I would have the pace for a TQ run in the evening again. After two minutes I still was not believing that I am able to catch up with the race leaders after I lost some time in the chicane at the beginning of the race. For tomorrow morning I will try my best to repeat the result before the temperatures will increase. I expect tomorrow morning`s round to be faster than Q3 and Q4 so it will be a very important one.

Perfect start into qualifying for Max Mächler

The opening round of Awesomatix Pro Stock qualifying saw Max Mächler on top of the board. He took the win with his Awesomatix A800MMX with a gap of 0.254 seconds ahead of his teammate Olivier Bultynck. The entire race was very close and intense, as Simon Lauter, Frederik Mikkelsen and Lukas Ellerbrock had a great pace as well. Ellerbrock was out of contention for the heat win after he lost around 1.5 seconds in lap number 7, but the Awesomatix duo of Simon Lauter and Frederik Mikkelsen was pushing hard behind Mächler and Bultynck.  A very impressive Awesomatix 1-2-3-4 in the first round of Pro Stock qualifying.

Awesomatix Team Manager Max Mächler talked to our media team after Q1. Here is what he had to say about his TQ run:

All I can say is that I am happy to finally TQ a round of qualifying again after quite some time. It feels really good and gives me a real boost of confidence. I am also very happy about the performance of the whole team so far. For tomorrow, I expect the same tension in all races as the speed of the top 5-6 drivers looks almost similar.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Round 1 goes to Steven Olsen

In the Hobbywing Frontwheel class, Steven Olsen from Denmark was able to lay down the fastest run in Q1. He was starting first after coming out of practice as the top seed. Caspar Morgen was pushing right behind him and had the fastest lap of the race, but in the end, he was not able to overtake Olsen on the leader board. Caspar crossed the line 0.6 seconds behind Olsen, who also felt high pressure from Torsten Baggendorf, Nicolas Delisè and Manuel Stankowitz. The entire field looked very close, and we are excited for Q2 of the Hobbywing Frontwheel class which will be on early Saturday morning.

We talked to RD1 TQ Steven Olsen directly after his run:

That was a close one! My run was clean, and my Awesomatix A800FX Evo felt very comfortable on track. But Caspar was a hard contender and I had to give my very best to take the win in this heat. For the next rounds of qualifying, I am very optimistic. I hope that my driving style, which is aways sensitive concerning tire wear, could help me to keep the field behind me on used tires as well.

Orca 17.5 Stock

Dominik Reile takes RD1 of qualifying in front of Pöhlmann and Donath

In the first round of Orca 17.5 Stock qualifying, we saw Dominik Reile taking the win. Reile started from the front and was leading the heat during each lap of the race. In the end, he took the win with a relatively comfortable gap of 2.4 seconds ahead of Daniel Pöhlmann. Dominik Reile also had the fastest lap of the race on his favour, and he is looking really good out there with his Awesomatix A800MMX. It will be very hard for all the others to challenge him, but in the world of racing, everything can change very quickly.  

Behind the leaders Reile and Pöhlmann, Jasmin Donath had an outstanding drive to third place with Kevin Schmid and Jan Gehrig following within a tenth of a second to complete the top 5 in the first round of qualifying. The Orca 17.5 Stock class will race another qualifier this evening, and we will inform you about the results in Saturday mornings Q2 report.

We had a quick chat with RD1 TQ Dominik Reile about his run:

My car felt great on the track, and with the new tires I just had the goal to lay down a clean run. As we will race Q2 later this evening, I will now analyse my lap times and double check everything on my car. I will try to repeat the run from Q1 and then we will see what will happen!

ToniSport 40+ Masters

Sievers takes the opening round of qualifying

In the ToniSport 40+ Masters class it was top seed Elibert Sievers who walked away from Q1 with the heat win in his pocket. He was able to control the gap to the following cars at around one second. Flavio Paladin, Torsten Baggendorf, Manuel Stankowitz and Toni Mateo had a nice battle for the positions two to five during the entire run too.

It will not be easy for Elibert Sievers to score another TQ run in tonights second round of 40+ Masters qualifying, but with his knowledge of the Apeldoorn track he seems to be in a good position right now.

Our reporter asked Elibert about his impressions from Q1:

As always, I tried to bring home a safe run in the first qualifier. The run was clean, and once I heard about my little gap to the others, I was just trying to bring it home. For the next round I will not change my car and I expect the track to be very fast when the sun is not shining onto the tarmac anymore. Until now I really enjoy the race and the atmosphere here at our track!

Scorpion Formula

Renè Kölbel dominates the first Formula qualifier

The first round of qualifying saw Renè Kölbel from Austria crossing the line in first position with his Xray car. He was on a mission and opened an impressive gap of 2.6 seconds ahead of his competitors. Luka Jovicic was “best of the rest” in Q1 with the latest version of the LFX car from Libar Engineering. Right behind Jovicic, Herbert Weber (Xray) finished third, and Mathias Domig and local hero Robin van Gog completed the top 5. Top seed Andreas Stiebler lost a lot of time in lap 8, which let him only finish 9th for the round.

Renè Kölbel told our media team:

I am happy with the result of my first run. I just wanted to keep the car on track without any mistakes. When you are making a mistake here in Apeldoorn, you are ending in the grass most of the time and that costs a lot of time. I had a good feeling during the run, even if the cars are very criticle to drive with the foam tires.

ETS Controlled Practice Report RD1 Season #15 2022/23

Controlled Practice

The two rounds of controlled practice here in Apeldoorn are in the books. Now, all drivers are re-seeded into their qualifying heats. The seeding practice was close between the top drivers in each class, and we are all looking forward to the start of qualifying at the AMCA track. Seeding practice is always good to find out about each driver`s 3-lap pace. But in the end, it is even more important to have a good pace with the smallest possible amount of performance drop during the entire 5-minute run. It will be exciting to see, who found the perfect setup to extract the maximum from the race tires during qualifying.

Matrix Modified

Yokomo`s Prümper is top seed while the top 5 stay in 0.146 of a second

The seeding practice of the Matrix Modified class was a thrilling story. While Rheinard (Awesomatix) and Völker (Mugen Seiki) came out fastest in all rounds of practice, it finally was Yokomo`s Yannic Prümper who drove the three fastest consecutive laps in the last heat of seeding. He looked comfortable on track, and it seems that Yokomo can fight for some good qualifying results with their new BD11.

Behind Prümper, it was Jilles Groskamp in second place with Marc Rheinard, Lucas Urbain and Ronald Völker completing the top 5. The gap between the drivers was very small. The top 10 drivers finished seeding practice within 0.698 of a second and we are looking forward to Q1 when the track temperatures will be a little lower again.

The Awesomatix Pro Stock class saw a very close session of seeding practice here on Friday at ETS RD1 in the Netherlands. Olivier Bultynck was the fastest driver over three consecutive laps. His Awesomatix A800MMX was on point, and he nailed his laps perfectly. Right behind Bultynck, Lukas Ellerbrock (Xray) was second with Max Mächler right in toe.

With the top three only being separated by 0.019 seconds, it is not easy to point out a favourite for the upcoming four rounds of Pro Stock qualifying. And to make it even more complicated, we can tell you that the fourth placed Enrico Jung (Yokomo) and fifth placed Tim Benson (Awesomatix) are within a tenth of a second behind Bultynck.

Helge Johannessen from Norway was also fast all day with his ARC. We haven`t seen him racing at the ETS for a while now, and we are impressed by his performance so far. He finished sixth in seeding, and the whole ETS crew is happy to have him in Apeldoorn with all the other racers from Norway!

Reigning champion Simon Lauter is ranked in ninth place right now – let`s see what the champion will show us later, when we head into Q1 at the amazing track of the AMCA Apeldoorn.

 Danish Dynamite on top as Olsen leads from Morgen after seeding practice

Reigning Hobbywing Frontwheel vice champion Steven Olsen was the fastest driver during seeding practice. He edged out his fellow countryman Caspar Morgen by the small margin of 0.042 seconds over three consecutive laps. Not a lot, but enough for Olsen to start qualifying with a clean track in front of him.

Torsten Baggendorf, Manuel Stankowitz and Mischa Kroos completed the top 5 after seeding practice. The Hobbywing Frontwheel class once again is the class with the highest number of entries here at ETS RD1 Season #15 2022/23 and we hope for thrilling races during the rest of the weekend!

Still the fastest – Dominik Reile

Dominik Reile was on top of the field after yesterday`s free practice. Today, he was able to drive the fastest laps with his Awesomatix A800MMX in the two rounds of seeding practice. His gap to the rest of the field was 0.5 seconds, and we can expect Reile to be one of the favourites for claiming the TQ in the upcoming 4 rounds of qualifying.

Behind Reile, Kevin Schmid posted the second fastest time on the scoreboard ahead of a very strong driving Jasmin Donath. Daniel Pöhlmann completed the Awesomatix 1-2-3-4 ahead of Xray driver Jan Gehrig in fifth position.

Elibert Sievers is top seed in the Masters class

Dutch driver Elibert Sievers will start first into qualifying with his Awesomatix A800MMX. He showed a great pace on his home ground and will be a real contender for the pole position here in Apeldoorn. Torsten Baggendorf was second fastest, only 0.2 seconds behind Sievers. Flavio Paladin from Italy drove the third fastest time in front of Manuel Stankowitz and Thomas Oehler. Qualifying will be tough, as a lot of drivers will fight for the A-Main spots and the big show of the ToniSport 40+ Masters class.

Scorpion Formula

Stiebler from Jovicic by 0.022 seconds

Andreas Stiebler from Austria finally came out on top of all practice sessions in the Scorpion Formula class. His margin over second placed Luka Jovicic was only 0.022 of a second – but enough for Stiebler to become the top seed. He will lead the field into qualifying from the first starting slot. Behind the leading duo of Stiebler and Jovicic, a very strong field of competitors will line up on the grid. Robin van Gog, last year`s race winner Jitse Miedema, and Ren`s Kölbel finished in the top 5 here in practice and we expect super close fights for the top spots on the grid for the triple A-Mains at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn.

Free practice in Apeldoorn

We have seen a lot of action on the track here at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn today. Almost everybody took the chance to participate in today`s six rounds of free practice to find a quick setup for the challenging AMCA track. The weather was nice all day, with temperatures in the lower twenties. For tomorrow we expect another sunny day in Apeldoorn. Now it is time to find out how drivers finished day 1 in all of our six ETS racing classes.

Matrix Modified

Rheinard, Groskamp, and Völker – the top 3 in Modified

The Matrix Modified class saw Awesomatix factory driver Marc Rheinard on top of the board after six rounds of free practice in Apeldoorn. Marc looked strong all day with his Awesomatix A800MMX car. Jilles Groskamp (Infinity) improved a lot during the day which brought him P2 at his first ETS appearance since Andernach 2020. He will be one to watch here in Apeldoorn. Mugen Seiki`s Ronald Völker was leading the field mid-day, before Rheinard and Groskamp took over the lead in the last session of the day. Yannic Prümper (Yokomo) and Tim Benson completed the top 5 in the Matrix Modified class.

Dominant Max Mächler on top after day one in Apeldoorn

In the Awesomatix ProStock class, it was Awesomatix team manager Max Mächler who showed the strongest pace over three consecutive laps. Max had a comfortable gap of 0.6 seconds ahead of the field – something which we are not seeing very often in this strong field of drivers.

Right behind the Awesomatix A800MMX of Mächler, his teammate Olivier Bultynck came in second for the day ahead of Xray`s Lukas Ellerbrock, reigning Pro Stock champion Simon Lauter, and Tim Benson.

Hobbywing Frontwheel

Steven Olsen on top after Thursday`s free FWD practice sessions

The reigning vice champion of the Hobbywing Frontwheel class was the fastest man here on track today. Steven Olsen found a good setup for his Awesomatix A800FX and was able to lay down the fastest consecutive laps. Torsten Baggendorf and Kevin Sparbier have been very close to Olsen, finishing only 0.2 seconds behind.

Nicolas Delisè and Karl-Heinz Moritz completed the top 5 on track in the Hobbywing Frontwheel drive class. Oliver Kaufmann, who is currently 1st on the list, was doing a tire test with different tires and his times are not representative for today.

Free practice with Dominik Reile on top

In the Orca 17.5 Stock class, Dominik Reile came out fastest after today`s six rounds of free practice. Daniel Pöhlmann was right on his tail, turning the second fastest 3 consecutive laps around the track of the AMCA Apeldoorn. Kevin Schmid was third fastest, making it a 1-2-3 for the Awesomatix A800MMX touring car. Quick young lady Jasmin Donath had a strong day as well with P4, right ahead of the fast-looking Timo Siebert in fifth place.

Manuel Stankowitz with a great first day in Apeldoorn

Awesomatix A800MMX driver Manuel Stankowitz finished the day of free practice on top here in the Netherlands. He was the fastest over three consecutive laps in front of last year’s race winner Elibert Sievers, and Torsten Baggendorf. Another 1-2-3 for Awesomatix and their A800MMX. Flavio Paladin was also on a good pace, completing the top 5 together with Michel Zierold.

Local hero Robin van Gog tops Thursday practice

Robin van Gog had the fastest Formula car on the first day of ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn. His car looked strong on the Matrix foam tires, but Renè Kölbel was only some hundredths of a second behind him on his three fastest laps. Andreas Stiebler, Luka Jovicic, and Herbert Weber rounding up the top 5 on day one of the new ETS season.

For Friday the weather looks stable, and we expect temperatures around 23 degrees with sunshine and a little bit of wind. It will be a very important day for the drivers as we will see another two rounds of free practice followed by two rounds of timed seeding practice. On Friday afternoon we will see the first round of qualifying – a gritty moment when everyone must put their cards on the table for the first time.

Enjoy a ride aroud the track of the AMCA Apeldoorn with media team member Hanno van den Boogaard`s camera car. This season, the Tamiya TT-02S received a small update with a super lightweight camera for better quality and handling on track as well. ETS Reporter Patrick Beck enjoyed the drive and tried to hunt some cars in one of the free practice heats of the Orca 17.5 Stock class.

here you can see once again, how to set up your account for our Equipment Chart database.

STEP 1

First, klick onto the following link.

Register for ETS Equipment Chart database

In this step, you have to edit your USERNAME, your NAME, and your PASSWORD. After that, you can log yourself in!

STEP 2

On the first page, you will see your ACCOUNT. You can edit the data when you click on VIEW PROFILE directly under your name as it is shown here.

STEP 3

Once you have clicked on VIEW PROFILE, you will see the next screen with the following look. There you must use the first ✔ Symbol to get to ETS RD1 here in Apeldoorn.

STEP 4

Now you are on the page for the race in Apeldoorn. Here you can easily choose and edit the equipment you are using. You have the chance to edit data for 2 racing classes. So if you are a double starter, please use the chance to enter the data of both classes.

STEP 5

After you have edited your stuff, you just have to UPDATE it. Then, your data is saved and we can use it for our charts, reports and statistics.

ETS Track Check AMCA Apeldoorn, NED RD1 Season #15 2022/23

The Euro Touring Series is heading into season #15, and RD1 will take place at the very well-known venue of the AMCA Apeldoorn. The city of Apeldoorn is a 90km drive away from the Dutch capital Amsterdam, and one of the favourite locations for most of the frequent ETS racers out there. This season`s race will be the 7th (!) ETS event happening on the ground of the AMCA, and we are expecting a perfect start into the new season.  

Outstanding racetrack with character!

The track in Apeldoorn is just looking fantastic. When racers are arriving here for the very first time, you can easily see the fascination in their eyes. The whole facility looks amazing and is always in a good shape. The short mown lush green grass in combination with the nice-looking curbs reminds everyone of a full-scale racetrack immediately. The Asphalt is super smooth and offers a great amount of traction which all drivers are highlighting when you ask them about the track.
Compared to other, more technical tracks, Apeldoorn offers some good spots for overtaking as the layout is fast and open. Drivers can build up serious pressure on the car in front of them. There are some corners which are easy to overshoot as the cars approach these with a lot of speed. Good omens for some exciting RC car racing.

AMCA Apeldoorn – a real paradise for RC enthusiasts

As we mentioned before, the whole facility around the track is amazing. The AMCA Apeldoorn is caring about their ground with a lot of love to detail and perfection. There is nothing drivers can miss, as the location features a cafeteria, restrooms, a sheltered pit area, a huge driver stand and a well-organized technical inspection.
Another highlight at the AMCA Apeldoorn is the tribune at the left end of the track where drivers and spectators can watch the races in a nice atmosphere. If you have never been in Apeldoorn, just write it on your RC “bucket list” and visit the club for some practice, racing, or the next ETS.
